  1. Another little bit of humor for you late on a Wednesday night. My mother's name was VERBICE - yes I spelled it right. Never heard of another one on the planet. DD's paternal GM's name was Viola Fay. She told her husband they were going to name their daughter VERBICE VIOLA and call her VeVe. LOL. (Of course she was joking.) But, see it could be a LOT worse. I wanted to name DD KARLEN. Pronounced Carl-en. EVERYONE hated it but me. My reasoning was this: take out the "L" and it spelled my name and my ex's middle name was Carl. So, it had the same sound. I thought it was real unique and meani
  2. I just realized this says BrookSTONE and I was wondering about BrookWOOD. I know there are several subdivisions in the general area with the "Brook" name and they all have a yard sale at the same time.Just wondering if this is also for Brookwood.
  3. Thanks - I'll have to relate that to DH. He LOVES Turkey & Dressing and I don't eat it so I don't cook it. LOL. The Marietta Diner on Cobb Pkwy is GOOD too! Their desserts are Heavenly!!! YUMMMMMMMMMM
  4. I wanted to share about this "find", West Cobb Diner. I realize it is not local or in Paulding County but it is a GREAT place to eat and is close by in the strip center behind Applebee's and Arby's at the corner of Dallas-Marietta Hwy and Barrett Hwy. (In the old Atlanta Bread Co. location.) In addition to what is on the menu they have blackboards with a list of veggies. I went yesterday and for instance the veggies were: the BEST homemade mac & cheese I have ever eaten in a restaurant, fresh mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole, collards, fried okra, stewed okra & tomatoes, blackeye pe
  5. Or even add the "S": Breshanna But there is no "ee" on the end. My youngest DGD is Anna Marie (her Paternal Great Grandmothers name was Marie) and she responds to "Ree" "AnnaRe" "ReeRee" - come to think of it she answers to anything!
  6. YEP Shan you will know when it is right........it will all come together. Don't stress - she isn't going to be here next week and leave the hospital nameless.
  7. Okay I guess I missed something with the "ee". Brian doesn't have the "ee" on the end either. I thought you were going after the BRI sound/spelling.
  8. You would be AMAZED at how many people have no idea there IS a racetrack Bristol. DD has a dog named Piper but it is still a cute name.
  9. I voted on Brileigh but like it spelled Brilei since it will match your Ashlei. I have dear friends whose first daughter is Stacy and their second daughter is Mandi. (Soon after Barry Manilow's Mandy was released.) They have often said IF they had known they were going to have a MandI they would have named Stacy StacI. So that is why I think down the road you might want the girls name to be similar. I do like Addison but it is one of the most popular names right now. By time she gets to school she will get lost in the masses of Addison's, Addie's or Addy's. Piper is cute and unique b
  10. I know the Brookwood Subdivision has their yard sale the same date/dates each year. Does anyone happen to know when that is? Do they have one in the spring and fall or just the fall?? TIA for any information.
  11. Thanks for the information. Thank you. But, it actually is my DS with a hurt hip and he is in Orlando. NO I think it is as when I googled it both names came up. Yes, it is very annoying. I am hopeful it is strained and not torn as he is doing a lot of dancing at Disney World. Thanks for the your input.
  12. You are right on track - but the sob stories and so forth is what makes the show appealing - or what the producers look for as much as talent. The producers mandate the entire "production" and the fine print says "the producers have the right to determine the outcome of the competition." PERIOD. So much for calling, voting, calling, voting. Just like putting a 60-somthing yr old through at the dome. WTHeck??? The guidelines state the age limit is 16-28. The General was there for nothing but "show" and was a farce. We will watch this year to keep up with Aaron but it is the first time in severa
  13. Now that makes sense! I know a lot of families enjoy the week breaks that are no typical peak vacation times. It allows them to take a vacation and not fight the crowds/lines and the peak expense of a trip. But, I still wish they could start school the day after Labor Day and end the year around Memorial Day.
  14. I didn't hear anyone say it was her second trip to Hollywood but I could have missed it. If it was her second time she knows it is not the end. I could not believe she was BEGGING like that. Not good. ;)
  15. YEP but the contract is VERY specific about keeping the information SECRET! Here comes Aaron Kelly - HE MADE IT THROUGH!!!!!!!!!! We have known him for several years and he is VERY, VERY GOOD!!!!!
  16. What was that DIVA move all about?????? GEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
  17. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO sorry Tow!!! Earlier I read Chick's post that Ranger had been found. With tears I sit here with my beloved dachshunds and cannot image the pain your family is feeling. And, I agree with Chick - there IS a special place in hell for such people. SO SAD!!!!!!! He did not deserve that - no helpless animal does!!!! Ranger was loved and had a wonderful life - he will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.
  18. No one???? Just wanted to know if anyone has had problems with it being torn, strained, etc. I have been doing some research and have found the hip plex also referred to as the Acetabular labral. Also I found this: The hip joints are plex joints that support the weight of the body.
