Did not know about that program... Either I am just missing or it hasn't been well publicized. Seems like a very good idea. I wonder what kind of strings are attached to it...

I'd like to see the state work with businesses on creating internship positions. Make it benefitial for both. Instead of giving UE to the individual, make it available to companies willing to hire an intern. Interns have a very good chance of finding an internal job with the compainy if they are a decent employee and will likely learn a marketable skill/trade.

It is not $0.00 per hour. It is $8.25 an hour IF the amount below is before taxes. If after taxes it going to be higher that $8.25....

Unemployment should include some kind of work. No sitting on your butt most of the day acting like you're looking for a job. There are plenty of streets and sidewalks that need cleaning, animal shelters that could use additional pooper scoopers, court houses restrooms needing mopped and so on. Hell I'd be ok with someone being a damn door greeter at the DMV as long as they did the job assigned. The jobs should be crappy be design so you don't want to keep them and should be manditory. You don't show up or late multiple times and you lose your benifits. Around 20 hours a week would be good...

Maybe not as few and far between as you would like to think??
  6. I have the single pipe today, but will end up with more. I'm doing my best to get this one broken in. I have noticed a difference since new and now in smoking it. The smoke shop I purchased this from was good on info and seemed to be experienced. I am following their advice and what I have read online. There is work involved, but its gotten easier/better nearly each time. After lighting yesterday I never had to relight. It burned the entire bowl. I changed the way I light which takes longer but works better. I like the pipe becasue of the smell, it uses less tobacco and is cheaper. I
  7. Ok... My question wasn't about the difficulties of smoking a pipe. I think we can all agree it's not as easy as other options. I'll smoke the pipe a couple times a week. I'm not using it as a replacement for anything else. It is simply used as a time to relax and chill. I don't have a problem with it taking more effort than cigars. It suits me better than cigars and I'm not about to take up dipping or cigarettes. I'll just experiment with different blends as I go. I picked up a couple different ones yesterday.
  8. Last time I visited "home" my brother gave me a cigar to try. I let it sit for about a week and then lit it up. Wasn't bad so I stopped by a place at the corner of Powder Springs rd and East/West connector to have a look at some others. I ended up leaving with a pipe and a couple different tobaccos to try. I always liked the way some of the pipes I been around smelled. It also made me think about my grandfather as he smoked one every now and then. Its been a couple weeks now and I've tried it a little. I was told, and there seems to be truth to it, that it takes a bit of work with smoking
  9. From someone who runs this web site I'd have expected a bit more understanding on how things actually worked. By your logic it'd cost you the same amount to run this forum no matter the monthly visit count. We both know that isn't true... As demands on this website grows so does the amount of work and equipment required to keep it going. Initial outlay for facilities is expensive, but there is a lot more going on than that pieces of cable. You have to hire people to hook up news homes, sales people answering new order calls, help desks fixing customer issues, servicemen replacing damaged
  10. Thanks all. Would you happen to have a name or number? I have a bunch of smaller pieces off a motorcycle I'd like to have done soon.
  11. Can anyone recommend a chrome plating outfit? I have a few parts I'd like to get done. Thanks!
  12. We have lots of skilled people on unemployment and welfare programs now. There is no reason we shouldn't expect them to continue to utilize those skills helping the community. Some will claim they're worth more than what unemployment pays, but I'd disagree being they're on unemployment. There are several non-profits and government agencies that could use help. Why is it OK to demand community service from criminals but expect nothing from others receiving government money? US citizens are paying for both... Drug tests and requirements of "community service" should be expected from e
  13. I'd be laughable if it was so sad...
  14. I'm going off your posts here so keep your stories straight and you won't look so silly.
  15. I just find it odd you're giving lessons on the economy when you don't even balance your own checkbook....
  16. Didn't you post you have nothing to with your own personal finances?
  17. Yea... Last week was the definition of stable... Where are you getting your information? You might want to expand your sources because most Americans do not share your enthusiasm.
  18. In what way??? Gas price Oct 27th 2008 = $2.66 Unemployment Oct 2008 = 6.5% Jobless claims Oct 23rd 2008 = 478,000 The only thing you can claim is better would be the jobless claims, but how many people have stopped looking all together??
  19. nothing but houses. It is not uncommon for there the be drug busts in the area...
  20. I live very near there and a county car came by very quickly. Guess I need to peek my head out the door and look around...
  21. Not only does it drive up the cost of food, but also when mixed with gas it lowers the MPG. It is a waste in all ways except earning political points and transferring money to others pockets...
