Im glad im not the only one that thinks its crazy. My husband works most holidays but we dont change them we just make the best of it
-
I heard someone say today "It sure doesnt feel like a holiday since it falls on sunday".....why would the day it falls on make it seem less like a holiday? Im sorry Im over changing the days we observe holidays for simplicity. When I was younger the holiday was on whatever day it was on. Am I the only one that thinks this is crazy?

I was close to failing. I guess the number my dr was looking for was 135 and under and I was a 135. That was close! I did get your email and I thought I responded back but im sorry if I didnt. I usually have to charge the kids for the computer and then try to get everything done so quickly lol. I will email you back tomorrow for sure! thanks oscar

time sure does fly!! Im starting to get real excited and real nervous bc we havent done anything to get ready for this little guy. I have less then twelve weeks to go. YIKES!! On another note I had my glucose test yesterday and I passed but wow I felt like crap all day. Not sure if the few hours (ten pm til around noon the next day) kicked my butt or what. Also found out my blood pressure is running a bit low which usually h appens to me towards the end so i wasnt surprised. Anyway just excited its almost time

we had an expedition and I loved it! I loved the way it drove, it would seat 8 which is one more then our mini van, there was as much trunk space as in a mini van only difference was that in the van you have a little more room in the seating area as far as floor space, leg room and the Gas is so much higher on the suv hence the reason we drive a mini van. Now that our drive time has cut down I keep considering getting another expedition but as Pubby said with gas prices going up and up I may just have to stay in the van.

I understand the alimony. When my husband and I got married I had to give up my job and have been home since (13 years). I dont regret that decision however if we were to get divorced it would probably not be easy for me to get back into the work force immediatly. A lot of companies would frown upon a 13 yr absence from the work force. Now once I was able to find a job then I wouldnt expect the alimony but until then....heck yeah best of luck to you and I wish you many years of happiness!

we did not get any report cards today. Im with you as far as which grade is the actual recorded grade...it confused me. I dont know if they really promote/etc in hs. I think they are just working for credits at this point. What hs does your child attend? just curious if I should be getting ours soon

my husband has to do a physical test of some sort I think once of year. I think it includes running a couple miles/etc. So I think fire is already required to do it. Yes I think its important and they should.

Im going to agree with krwills on this one. If we wanted to make this our forever/long term home then maybe it would be worth the battle but its just a stepping stone for us. I usually stand my ground and dont back down however this family has been an issue for over ten years (from other neighbors). Just since we have lived here he has had a couple felony charges and been arrested several times and lost his lic, etc. Im not sure what I can do outside of following the law and unfortunatly he goes to jail and gets out very often.
-
your right and my husband and I discussed that you never know that we wont move into a similar situation. The problem is the law is involved with this individual often and it doesnt seem to do anything except cost him a few days in jail and legal fees for his parents. The parents sadly are not much better. As much as I know it could happen if we move Im really fearful that my children or myself could get caught in the middle of his bad choices. Not sure that there is much I can do to stand my ground. We have tried for over a year now.

to make a long story short my husband was laid off a few years ago(3-4) and we lost everything. We have been renting since and when the housing market had the 8k incentive we checked into our options. Good news is that my husbands credit score and time frame from the bad stuff would allow us to qualify, bad news is apparently we had a couple things in collections from back then. So for now we can not move forward until we take care of those things. We figure with tax money in february we can clear everything up. My dilema is that the house we are renting now we have major issues with the

I think it depends on the child. My oldest didnt get her eyebrows waxed until she was going into high school but my other daughter got hers done when she was 10 (poor thing has a unibrow and gets teased). I didnt even debate plucking bc Its harder to do it on someone else and neither of my girls have the patience/coordination to pluck their own so we just went and did the waxing. We went to a nail place in the publix (new hope) shopping center. Just follow your mother instincts

the cooler thing is new. We always took cooler in with drinks/snacks. It was something necessary bc when we went we stayed so long and it gave the kids something to do during the adult swim. The concession prices werent horrible but it would add up with our size family so Im with you the price hike and cooler fee may end up limiting our visits.

I had never heard of lipstick parties/7 minutes of heaven or whatever you said. Wow I must have lived a sheltered life It was so much easier being the teen then the parent to a teen
-
she told her mom no one would show up and then she asked if the parents gave permission would she get it. Of coarse the mom said I dont care who thinks its ok we are not getting alcohol for a 16 yr old party. lol Im the same as you! Alot of my friends drank at parties but I never did. I drank a couple times and it didnt end well. Why would I want to do that to myself! Now dont get me wrong I have my nights where nothing but a margarita will make me happy but im 36 I know kids will do stuff but what bothered me/surprised me is that the parents not only know but are ok with it.

I had suggested to her maybe a bonfire/cookout in the back yard or white oak park and cook out and play volleyball. My daughter will be 16 in jan. She may have to have the cheesy party in the pink decorated basement
-
Thats kind of what I was thinking but in all honesty this girl and her friends are honor, top of their class students. I guess in a way I sterotype and think of those children as being the role models. she went through that with her oldest daughter but has gotten back to being a parent with this child. She has told her no way and the daughter said then I wont have a party and the mom said ok I dont think my daughter will even suggest alcohol...she knows I would never go for it CE, I agree with you on the 'kids may drink' part. I think its one of those teen stages/

Maybe Im just old fashioned or just dont remember what it was like to be 16 but I was kind of shocked and surprised at something my neighbor was telling me. Her daughter is turning 16 and the discussion about her sweet 16 party came up. The neighbor told me they are not doing anything bc her daughter said if there isnt alcohol then no one will come I guess I remember around 18 some of my friends sneaking around and drinking but I was never a drinker so I guess I didnt really pay much attention. Is it really that common at that age to be only going to parties to drink? My daughter is 15 and

trust me when I say as much as it seems stressful these tests make you such a better person, much stronger and makes you realize what is really important in life. I do understand how you feel and I dont regret one struggle we have been through. Keep your chin up!
