  1. Hunting on WMA is very limited. You can find dates and regulations here. You can find locations of WMA's here. Yes, for hunting "big game," you have to use a center fire cartridge larger than .22. Shotguns are ok, just be sure to check magazine capacity for what you are hunting. I believe it's 5 for large game and 3 for fowl. Hunting private land, you really just have to ask around and find someone who will let you hunt their land or find a hunting club that is accepting members. Fishing is plentiful. Hobby fishing with children... White Oak Park. Sportsman fishing...
  2. Bahahahahaha! Did you seriously just say that? I guess you don't read or listen to the news much do you? Crime is misreported ALL the time.
  3. No, you cannot just go shoot at Paulding's WMA. It's only open during certain times a year for hunting... not even open all hunting season. There is an outdoor range in Taylorsville called Creekside that has shotgun available. There are separate outdoor pistol, shotgun, and long rifle ranges there. Be sure to call or check their website, because they have shoots there than they don't allow general admission during those times. Also specifically ask them about shooting shotgun, because they don't always allow it.
  4. Here's a website for you... It's a private website, but they try to keep track of E0 gas stations. Looks like the Buddy's in question at 61 & Hiram-Sudie is already on the list, but I didn't see anything listed for Hiram area. Website might help you if you travel through any of the cities listed.
  5. I never understood the "answer to the spouse" mentality. If I want to spend money on something, I don't ask or tell her...I get what I want, when I want it, if I can afford it. She does the same thing. I don't expect her to check with me if she wants something. Neither of us will buy something if we know that there is something else more important that needs attention. She pays for utilities, groceries, and insurance(s) and I pay for any and all maintenance costs. If I want a new gun or a tool, I buy it. If she wants a new pair of shoes or outfit (or whatever else), s
  6. I would call the restaurant and ask them what they use. If you use something other than what they use, it won't taste the same.
  7. Let's just hope, for innocent citizen's sake, there is a good guy with a gun that can end it before, wherever and whenever, that/those kid(s) "cross that path" in the future.
  8. Those 1/2 rounds are a bitch, aren't they? Every time I go shoot, I end up coming home with a 1/2 round and can't figure out what to do with it.
  9. Huh? Sorry, but is not true. I run wad-cutters through my Kimber and Colt 1911's, my S&W Shield, and my Glock. I shoot IDPA with a stock service pistol and run wad-cutters at every competition.
  10. Not sure.. I shoot IDPA, USPSA, and ISPC. I've shot a few 3 gun competitions, but most of them are too far away to attend on a regular basis. Maybe one day we'll get a good 3 gun organization here in the southeast. I set up most of my own pistols, but the few things that I send out for work are done by Brian Ott @ Ott Gunworks over in Douglasville. He is one helluva gunsmith.
  11. Gun snob? LOL... what the hell is a gun snob? It's not my opinion, it's scientific fact, which is pretty "obvious" there, Captain. But, no matter... at least you won't be spreading more inaccurate information.
  12. So, point of impact is not changed by different ammo, but recoil is? Have you ever heard of Newton's Third Law? For every action there is an EQUAL and opposite reaction? In the same firearm, if recoil is increased, bullet force HAS to be increased. Since momentum = mass x speed, if the bullet mass is the same and flight speed throughout the flight path is not the same, point of impact HAS to be different. It's basic science.
  13. Yeah, I see you know a lot about it. You obviously don't know anything. No, it's actually quite a process to become a certified instructor. No, actually, they are not. The point is to hit the target, where you aim, with the most accuracy possible. If you think that different brands of ammo don't shoot differently, you have no clue as to what you're talking about. A simple powder change to a different brand of powder will make a drastic difference. And here's a clue for you, believe it or not, not all manufacturers use the same powder. Even using a different primer will
  14. Sorry, but nothing is further from the truth! If that were true, competition shooters would not hand load each and every round they shoot. There are about 8 different powder types on the market for .45acp alone. Each powder type is different for each grain of bullet and velocity and EVERY combination will change your point of impact. Wrong again. Bullet type can drastically effect bullet trajectory. It's simple aerodynamics. Oh... and no, I didn't hear it from a guy who knows a guy. I'm a certified firearm's instructor and a competition shooter. I also reload
  15. The President cannot declare martial law. The United States does not have legal provisions in place to allow him to do so. The only thing he can do is suspend Habeaus Corpus. The military can be brought in to help and support local law enforcement, but pure martial law cannot be done. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the note of any government agency purchasing large amounts of ammunition right now, I personally believe it's to curtail the on flux of gun and ammo purchase that has been going on. There's a lot of flak
  16. Please point out where anyone has said, "I don't like this and I want it to fail..." I don't think anyone is against a cleaner planet, with less smog, and harmful things floating around in the air. The point was... you have to make sure there are not other things that are affected when you want to change something on a massive scale. Other things are affect than can cause worse problems for civilization. Take R-134 freon for instance. R-12 was all but banned from refrigeration and R-134 was put in it's place because it was SOOO much better of a product, less harmful to the e
  17. Thanks for showing your ignorance. All those things happen in nature because of nature. All the environmentalists keep saying that humans are contributing to global warming because of their emissions of vairious things. Well guess what there genius? When you take ALL those things that happen in nature and the natural ecosystem is designed to deal with it... and then you multiple the things it's designed to deal with by hundreds, thousands, and millions, it causes changes, in which you have NO IDEA of how it will affect the ecosystem. Your body is designed to have water inta
  18. What's a school beard? It's allowing "school board" in the sense of the actual decision makers. Teachers, janitors, etc.are employees of the school board, which is what I think it is referencing. "...allowing local school boards to decide whether to let elementary school employees carry guns on campus." I'm not sure how they are going to find enough teachers or faculty that have five years of law enforcement experience. I'm thinking the idea might be for the school board to hire current or retired law enforcement officers as a private security staff.
  19. Just like every other "clean energy" idea... yeah, hydrogen cars sound great. They produce clean emission (water) and there's no down side, right? I wonder if they have done speculative analysis of the effects of all the extra water/moisture being exhaled in to the atmosphere. Just like fossil fuels were many years ago, it's *believed* there is an endless supply of hydrogen. What happens once we convert to hydrogen and find out 40 years down the road that the atmosphere can't handle the amount of hydrogen we extract from it for our power plants? What happens when the hydrogen i
  20. And just where and how do you think that electricity that you have in your home, that you will be charging that car with, comes from? It comes from power plants. Some power plants are nuclear, but the largest majority are coal. It takes burning coal to turn boil water that runs steam engines, which turn generators, which generate the electricity. This is the problem... people don't understand that you CANNOT CREATE energy. You can only convert it from one form to another form. So you charge up your electric car and the pollution comes from a coal power plant rather than the
  21. Sorry, but that is not totally true. Ozone is not just created by a high energy spark. Ozone is created by ANY form of radiation energy (including magnetic) that splits oxygen atoms in to two separate and free floating oxygen molecules, which can then attach themselves to other existing O2 molecules. It's called photolysis. In electric motors, where an electric spark is present, there is a much high production of ozone. All electric motors produce ozone. Most any radiation device produces ozone, television, radio, microwave, etc..
  22. What I find funny is the people who think we should all move to the electric cars. What most of them don't know and even the ones who do, don't consider... Electric motors produce this little thing in the allotrope family called Ozone. Ozone is basically a poisonous gas. Ozone is harmful in doses of 100 ppm to animals (including humans) and plants. Yet so many of these environmentalist want people to convert to the electric vehicles to stop the emissions of hydrocarbons. We trade one thing that they say is causing environmental issues for another thing that will cause envir
  23. Georgia Arms had some a week ago. While I don't really care for the place, the pawn shop next to Kmart had some a week or so ago, also. He basically sells the GA Arms "canned heat."
  24. I would agree... large sums of money, I would definitely ask. For a cup of coffee or something such as that, I won't.
