  1. Please elaborate on adequate. See my above calculation and show me where I erred. These folks are saying 15% is inadequate. I have shown it to be more than adequate. I didn't get % on pizza delivery and was quite lucky to get more than a buck or 2.
  2. To all of you that are grousing about "weak" tips in the 10 - 15% range and that those people should stay "away" until they can better tip, I ask this... Are your stores THAT busy and you are losing good tippers because of wait times? And I do not mean a store that can only run half capacity due to lack of scheduled servers. Maybe that customer will really like you and come back again and ask for you. At that point the tips will likely start increasing. Me personally, I would be happy with a 10 - 15% tip in this economy just for job security. I tip and generally tip well. I have even sent a ti
  3. I go out of my way to tip good servers. Seldom have problems that are not corrected well enough. I delivered pizza years ago so I get tipping. I had a regular that NEVER tipped. I would draw that delivery, recognize it and already have the change down to the penny in my hand. Not too hard to predict the bills that will likely be given. Anyway as son as they paid I gave them the change without even looking. They never got the hint.
  4. Pubby I always look to the most fair and equitable solutions. I will never support insurance companies who make obscene profits but I guess I can support most of them because they are only making about 2.5% margins. I think it is wrong to benefit from someone elses work on a technicality when you know, as is the case here, the only reason that you even stand to recoup your loss is the work they did. Fair is fair and I stand solidly on that principle. There have been many court cases out there that, if I were the judge, I would tell the defendant "I am sorry but you are guilty of this crime. Wi
  5. I fully understand the buyer beware part. I just have the gut feeling that the whole fairness part will be left out given the liberal leanings of Washington state. Meaning that I feel they will throw their support behind the orignal owner and forget about the evil business of restoration, leaving them high and dry. I hope not. I hope there is a follow up to this story sometime.
  6. SPOKANE, Wash. – A Volkswagen van stolen 35 years ago in Washington state has been found in a shipping container at the Los Angeles/Long Beach seaport. Customs agents found the 1965 van on Oct. 19 when they opened a shipping container bound for The Netherlands, The Spokesman-Review newspaper reported. They ran the vehicle identification number and discovered it was listed as stolen. Law officers said the van, which is in great shape, was stolen from an upholstery shop in Spokane on July 12, 1974 — while Spokane was hosting the 1974 World's Fair. Rest of story I can see where th
  7. I could only hope that there will be many in the next generation that have the apptitude, foresight and gusto to actually fix the mess that we have created for them. I do know that you really DO NOT want Dis jr. in charge of the monetary side of things right now. As far as that is concerned there are ZERO politicians out there that can out spend him. He truly thinks that I can get all the money we need by just "going back to work". He does not want things now... he wants them yesterday.
  8. Although the Communists are now working under a new heading, I think that all political newbies will be quite readily able to continue to spot them by their "spots". No I didn't... So long as they at least attempt to read any "real" history books.
  9. Well his combined interest in warfare and this has me a bit perplexed. I just went to pick him up at school and he just had to show me what was in the library. Appears thear was some sort of project done on the civil war. Did you guys realize that the cadets at Fort Sumter had access to machine guns and there were apparently tanks at Appomatox Courthouse. Got to love those kids imaginations.
  10. Found this out. It seems that Dis jr. left his backpack in mom's car. No problem, I'll go right back home and get it before she leaves. I send him in and go to perform said goal. I return to school and to Dis jr.s' classroom to find him not there. Ok, that's weird. Mind you he is in 2nd grade. So I chat with teacher for a momment and he comes in after his visit to the library. That's my boy... go get some more books! Now last time he came home with a book on Pearl Harbor and some fighter pilots from WW II. He then lays the new ones on his desk. So I look to see what my SECOND GRADER is readin

    Need advice

I noticed that you had a Minolta SLR before. I encourage you to look into the Sony Alpha series. I used a Minolta Maxxum 5000 SLR for years and absolutely loved it. When I started looking at the dSLR cameras I faced a dilemma. What to do about the old stuff I already had and paid big $$$ for. Minolta does not make dSLR cameras you say? Guess what... Sony bought Minolta out and their mount specs too so they would have to start all over. This is great news for you. If your Minolta has a "A" type mount then all your old stuff will work on the new Sony cameras! I know it is true becuase I have the

  13. Have a few credit cards that you have a long history with. Use each one at least once every 6 months but keep the balance below 25% of the limit. PAY YOUR BILLS ON TIME!!! Do not close cards with $0 balance, That will hurt your credit. Those are the big ones.

  15. Walt Disney World reveals new monorail By Leah Zanolla Oct 15, 2009 Walt Disney World announced that it has built a new monorail train to replace the two that were damaged in a fatal collision this summer. The new train has been built from the undamaged portions of the trains involved in the accident. The new monorail will have a teal stripe. The colors pink and purple will be retired out of respect for the cast members involved in the accident. Before it begins carrying guests, "The train will be subject to the same extensive testing as any new vehicle we add to our trans
