  1. Kombucha (also tea mushroom, tea fungus, or Manchurian mushroom when referring to the culture; botanical name Medusomyces gisevii) is a fermented, slightly alcoholic, lightly effervescent, sweetened black or green tea drink commonly consumed for its supposed health benefits.
  2. Looks like all the media fear mongering about WW3 was for naught. Though it may still cause a revolt in Iran.
  3. Lost a 12" pine in the back. Had no idea it was half rotten at the base, the bark had covered the damage. Only damage was it landed on three of my tomato cages. They will never be the same. Neighbor down the street lost one about the same size, hit the power lines and broke them. Greystone was able to fix it about 3:00 am. A huge thanks to the crews working all night long. Most of us are very used to our electrical conveniences!
  4. Ok, the board is telling me I've used all the attachment space I'm allowed when attempting to post on a topic. If I click on Manage Attachments to free up space as directed, I get a list of 14MB worth of attachments, but no way to delete them that I can find. Somebody want to tell me how to delete them? I can't go to the post and edit it, because when I click on the post link, i"m told that I don't have permissions to view those posts. Sorry, there is a problem You do not have permission to view this content. Error code: 2F173/
  5. I think it's going to be a shootout and the last team that scores wins.
  6. As well, most of the cheap develop able land is gone. It's a natural order of business, growth cannot continue forever. You run out of good places to put homes. Roads can't keep up. Next big boom will be in roof, A/C and Water Heater replacements as all those crackerjack box homes put up with "builder's grade" equipment in the last 15 years begins to fail. School system can use the break, that 1300 homes is over 1300 kids on average added to the school system every year. $$$ for new schools.
  7. Nah. Iran killed one too many US Citizens in Iraq and we caught the man responsible while he was in Iraq. (note: NO attack on Iran has happened, he was in IRAQ planning the attacks) Iraq did a face saving "vote" to evict us, then freaked out when one of the marine commands agreed to leave. Iran got their hand slapped and have done a face saving "attack" sending missiles that hit nothing into another country. However, you know Iraq is not going to attempt to retaliate, so should be back to business as usual terrorist attacks in Iraq soon.
  8. What we need is businesses providing good jobs here, so more people don't *have* to go out of county every day to work. It would have another benefit of those businesses generating property taxes *without* generating any kids for the school system or anywhere near the public services needed for an equivalent number of homes. If the BOC would quit trying to make a mint for themselves by making new business a county exclusive and work on making the county attractive to new business, instead of homes for Cobb and Fulton County workers, we'd be better off.
  9. What spice to you use on the chicken? I use lime-Pepper seasoning sometimes, others I use some Cajun seasoning.
  10. I moved here in April of 2000. I though it felt a little more crowded now. Imagine what it would have been without 8 years of Recession!
  11. It’s a mental health issue now for sure. The conductor and engineer on that train will have the view of him and his wheelchair vanishing under their windows in their minds for the rest of their lives. It will haunt them as it does any crew who has someone die in front of their consist.
  12. My dad actually has a deal with Cobb mec that nighttime charging is free (midnight to 6:00 am as I recall). It makes a lot of sense from the power company perspective as it allows the power plants to stay running around the clock which is more efficient Than starting and stopping those huge plants. since his solar units are running during the day, his bills are incredibly small. of course, you have to be able to everything you need to with just one charge or it all falls apart.
  13. That pony is insane. I'm sorry, air travel is not a right, there are safety issues in play here. Can you imagine that pony loose in the cabin if they hit severe turbulence? Of if it had been on the plane that landed in the Hudson? How you gonna evacuate if this freaking horse is injured and blocking the aisle??? Seems like unforecasted turbulence hits a plane several times a year. Just in July: That blasted Horse would have killed somebody if it had been on board. Even big dogs should be blocked unless the dog can be strapped into the seat.
  14. Atlanta United looked good, glad to have Josef Martínez back on the field. On to the Playoffs! The Braves had me worried, but came back like the Braves of Old! Up 2-1 on the Cards. The Falcons.... dang. How can team with so much talent do so poorly? I may have to become a Saints fan. They are winning with their backup quarterback. Quinn taking over the Defense hasn't seemed to much good either. Do we need to start a pool on when he's gone? The US Women's National Soccer Team tied South Korea as well. Busy Sports day.
  15. Unless the wall is full of metal, it shouldn't stop it much. Do the other devices like your PC work OK? I'm not familiar with Ring, but if they upload to a server somewhere and you have ATT internet service, your upload may be like ours and *very* limited and that's the problem, not your local wireless.
  16. it's possible that is the problem, if the ring is sending HD video ( I think they do) it takes a good bit of bandwidth. As the wireless signal strength drops, so does the bandwidth it will support. The type of router you have can contribute as well. If your is older, it may not support the high speed standards. There are several different devices that can do what want. I found this article interesting: WIFI BOOSTERS I have a problem with this as my UVERSE router is in the basement in the center of the house and both ends have crappy coverage because of that. I
  17. I doubt any vote was involved, the facility has always been available since it was built and It's always cost money to rent it on the weekend. We paid for the use of the large ballroom for our daughter's and a friend's graduation party in 2016. As I recall it was $400 or so for the day to decorate and use. 50K seems kinda high, unless that was for the entire year and for the entire building. The same thing happens when the school system rents the gym at a school for services. I'm happy that the county facility is being used.
  18. At another site, there is an active thread with lots of people in the newer subdivisions complaining about all the new subdivisions coming in. I wanted to point to the old PRD threads on here, to show how they are not the first to feel that way, but I can't find them. Are they toast now?
  19. Rather you didn't, it's bad enough with persons adding Liberal beliefs into the conversation that have nothing to do with the article. The article nor I said nothing of "Global Warming" and Rain Forest lost. I said poisons and I meant that: Zhang, Xiuying; et al. (7 August 2015). "Impact of Soil Heavy Metal Pollution on Food Safety in China". PLOS ONE. 10(8): e0135182. doi:10.1371/journal.pone.0135182. PMC 4529268. PMID 26252956. Retrieved 13 March2017. As far as the original topic, what happened after WWII was very different than WWI. For the time frame that the ar
  20. Let's see. Germany attacked it's neighboring states, causing the death of nearly 17 million people over the course of the war. Check. German leadership refused to accept that it had lost the war, so it preferred for it's citizens to starve so that it could keep it's merchant ships under it's control. Check. German leadership was willing to kill *more* people if they thought they could win in a restart, so refused to surrender. Check. Allies could have restarted the war, killing their way to the leadership, but rather than risking the lives of their own solde
  21. The pool just got warmed up to usable temperatures. I'd like it to last a bit longer. However, August in unpredictable here, (like most of the year). I remember several years ago we never got in the pool in August as it was just too cold and rainy all month.
