  1. I'll probably get bashed for this, but when my youngest daughter was 4 months old, I was taking care of my godmother who had cancer. I was taking her to chemotherapy in Austell 3x's a week, and to get blood about as often. I was running ragged, between doing that and trying to work part time and take care of a family. My MIL at the time tried to help me as much as she could by keeping the baby while I took her on these appointments. One day, she couldn't keep her, so I had her with me. I always pulled up to the front of the dr office and walked my godmother to the office inside the build
  2. Sure, it's great that she can be a model, and a successful one at that...but it doesn't make me think she's hot just because she is one.
  3. Just goes to show that what is "in" is not always what's attractive. That's like those those ugly shoes that are half sandal/half lace up shoe. I think I'll stick with what "I" like, not with the hottest thing going. She does look much better with her mouth closed and without the cigarette, I'll give you that much.
  4. I agree with you on this. I'm not going to shelter my kids from something that is a fact of life. I had never been to a funeral home when my great-grandfather passed away when I was 13, and I was traumatized by the whole experience.
  5. PM sent! That is so awesome!! ETA: We're working on getting a commerce membership for the hayride, so there will be a lot more information to come soon!!
  6. I can assure you all that LPPT has been working this morning!! Y'all look for a spoooooky new commerce member soon!
  7. You are the one I needed to talk to anyway. Sending you a pm! Thanks!
  8. I've looked all over this site and can't seem to find it. Thanks!
  9. I just made an appt with them. Thanks y'all!
  10. So, let's say my car was paid for, and my house, and I was not in debt...but I have NO extra money in the bank. What happens if I total my car? I have to go in debt to buy a new one, or I am screwed if I don't have the credit to do that. Same with burial...you either get no burial for your loved one or you go in debt and write that check every month.
  11. Call my boss and tell her that, please! But really...it's not about training for me. It's about what I've seen happen, and the burdens that fall on people when they plan poorly. Do you work for an investment firm or somethin'? Are ya trying to pull people to your products instead of insurance?
  12. Yep, that's what I have been trying to say as well.
  13. Well, when your kid turns 18 and is no longer eligible for your children's term rider, and they need their own policy, a term policy is gonna cost a lot more than less than $10 a month.
  14. If we knew how long we had to save, that'd be a great idea. It's just like choosing a lower or higher deductible on your car or home insurance. If you choose a $2500 deductible to save money thinking that if you don't have a claim in 5 years, you can save up enough for the deductible, and a tree crashes through your roof tomorrow when there is NO money in the bank, you're in a bad spot. It's all about how much risk you want to shoulder yourself. If you have plenty of money and can afford to come out of pocket, that's great, but if not....well, you really need the coverage. As for
  15. Yeah, I need the same thing. I was hoping to find a more local pediatric eye doctor, instead of having to go to Scottish Rite.
  16. Right, because kids never die, and we all have thousands (or even hundreds if you go cheap) of dollars laying around in case they do. Makes sense to me. You should also just have the cash on hand in case you total your car, or your house burns down, or you get sick and have to go in the hospital. Insurance is just a waste of money all the way around if you look at it that way. No more State Farm or Allstate or Travelers....everybody should just keep cash on hand!
  17. I do this, too, only with cashews and craisins. I give it for gifts at Christmas time.
  18. Ok, so she's only the mom of 2 of the kids? Who's Blanket's mama?
  19. At this point, she's not outgrown it...when she's a teenager, we'll do the test again. And no, I'm not going to put my child through surgery for something that is not causing her problems. Kidney reflux is only dangerous if accompanied by infections, of which she has none. She has a level 3-4 reflux...if it was a level 3, surgery would NOT be necessary period...if it was a level 4, it would BE necessary. She's on the fence. As I said, no, I'm not going to make her have surgery if there is a chance that she can outgrow it seeing as how she is having no problems. Fortunately, I bo
  20. Naw, have them use Lady Stetson instead...that way you won't stink.
  21. Chicken Cheese Ball 1 8 oz pkg of cream cheese (softened to room temp) 1 pkg ranch dressing mix 1 large can of white meat chicken Shred chicken with a fork. Mix in cream cheese and ranch mix. Shape into a ball. Refrigerate until firm again, and serve with Triscuits or Wheat Thins.
  22. I wasn't trying to argue with you either. Like I said, this is just a topic I am very passionate about because I've seen so much suffering as a result of poor planning. You're right, insurance is about risk...but it's about protecting yourself from it.
