  1. Constitution says innocent until proven guilty. It would be up to a court of law to decide that, not up to you or me. I think it is unconstitutional to take body fluids, hair, or skin from someone without their consent. If that person drinks from a cup and throws it away in my mind that is different. If someone knew they were innocent why wouldn't they do it? These tests are not 100% and they have been known to be wrong just as Lie Detector Tests have been wrong.
  2. Didn't mean for it to sound that way. The idea is good but it is up to us as citizens of Paulding to address it with the local BOE and ask them to make that change. I think the local BOE should retain that power.
  3. I think it is a good idea to save money but you must have missed this: Posted Yesterday, 05:15 PM If it were to pass I would think so. I do agree with conehead and JMT though that it should probably stay with the local BOE. The only grounds for doing it in my mind would be to make a uniform start date for all schools in Georgia. I think he has a point about saving money on utility bills but it should be addressed with the local BOE. That folks is our job.
  4. No, our rights under the Constitution are EQUAL!
  5. It is wrong because it is just more rights under the Constitution that folks will give up. If we keep allowing that to happen pretty soon the citizen will have NO rights. I think we as Americans have had more freedom and more protection than citizens in any other part of the world. I am not in favor of giving up those rights to the government.
  6. If I read the article correctly the ladies said they were not argumentative. Didn't the folks who investigated the issue say this should not have happened. I think there were 18 complaints filed againt the officer in question. Maybe I will go back and do more than scan the article. I know in some areas the police do not allow folks to gather because there are so many drugs sold and there is so much crime but when did it become against the law to stand on a street talking to a friend or to ask a peace officer "why"?
  7. I don't agree with it. I think it violates our Constitutional rights.
  8. Actually I didn't read the article. I asked the question because of your post. For some reason all those TV reports I watched back in the late 60's came to mind. There were folks back then that said more than "yes sir". It landed them in jail a lot of times. I never want to be afraid to ask a peace officer WHY he is doing something or why he feels I have done something. Guess I need to go read the article.
  9. Is there a law against saying something other than "yes sir"?
  10. Belks sometimes has some nice ones on sale. Macy's at Town Center or try Burlington Coat Factory.
  11. It takes an evil person to harm the helpless! I am so sorry Tow. I hope you find them!

  13. Might have something to do with being involved with the state budget. They have to decide how much to send to the local school districts don't they?
  14. I agree with him. Anything we can do to cut costs we should be doing.
  15. So that is what is happening to my hair. Look out Sarah!
  16. Hello Sarah and welcome to the place that will make you laugh, cry, and gnash your teeth.
  17. Yes, I could have missed it but nothing seemed to come up.
  18. I thought I saw one around the end of December or first of January.
  19. Thanks Pubby. I found the debate well worth watching and I appreciate the work that went into putting it up on P.com. I get to vote in this election and I was not able to get to the debate on Friday. I knew nothing about 2 of the candidates and very little about the 3rd before they stepped into this race. I welcomed the opportunity to hear their positions on the issues they were questioned about.
  20. It is a hard road to travel. Prayers for you and your family.
  21. I think they are just starting to uncover the facts. The Fox news article (online) had it that she shot him in the chest. I suspect that there will be some disinformation out there before they get it straight. I think this happened in 1986.
  22. Scary to think that this woman taught where so many kids go to school! This should never have happened!
