  1. That's a lot of work! My Aunt owns a boarding barn back home in TN and I have put in some time there. I didn't know you were a member of DFUMC!!!

I'm gonna try to clean my house before Steve comes over tomorrow! Part of the problem is that we just had 2 wedding showers and there is stuff all over the living room because we still gotta find a place for it all!

Hubby and I have missed church for the past 3 weeks due to illness. We usually attend the 11:00 am service. We are still new to the church and don't know many people yet. I love it there and Steve is the best!

  2. Seems like we have had a lot of dreary, overcast days so far this winter. Or maybe with just the general feeling of the blues overall right now it seems like we've had a lot. I'm not sure.

Regardless, MacFarlane's is doing what we can for affordable, sit down and relax lunches. Our $5.99 lunch has been going well, and I really appreciate the support.

Hopefully, this cloudy weather, and all the other clouds that seem to be hanging around, will clear up soon. I think we can all use a little more cheer and hope.

Take care, and I hope to see you all in again soon!

See you Thursday for some of that wonderful Shepherd's Pie; a great comfort food for these rainy days.

  3. That is so strange...We have a cat and she has never even tried to chew a chord.

Are your cats inside/outside cats? Maybe they are bored and need something else to keep them stimulated if they are inside only cats. If they are de-clawed, I can see keeping them indoors all the time. I didn't have the heart to do that to our cat, so she is an indoor/outdoor cat and stays around our house and our neighbors (who love her btw). I work from home, so she comes in and out constantly all day long. She sill sit at the door and meow when she wants in or pop up in the window if I'm upstairs. When she wants something and we ignore her, she will try to claw on the chair, knowing I will tell her to stop (which she does), but she gets my attention to whatever it is she wants (food, to go outside, to be pet, etc.)

Maybe a new Cat Tree for them? Nemie's Pet Gifts has them and Steve makes them himself and they are really nice.

Just a thought. Hope it gets better though!

My cats love the Cat Tree that I got from Nemie. My 1 year old male kitty loves playing with ponytail holders and those rubber band bracelets.

  4. I have a cord chewer ... I bought some aquarium tubing, slit it and cut to the correct length, then pushed the cord through the slit and taped it up. Worked like a charm.

Pets aren't convenient, but I wouldn't want to live without them. And they're WAY cheaper than kids!

The tubing is a great idea!

  5. I work out of my home. I got a call from a customer day before yesterday complaining that he couldn't get an order to come through on my fax. I finally found the problem. One of my cats had chewed through the phone line going to the fax. Now I keep my office door closed and locked. I have 3 indoor cats. One can open almost every door in the house unless its locked. He has also unscrewed all the knobs on our entertainment center. The youngest cat can find a way to get on top of almost anything. She walks on top of the kitchen cabinets and sleeps on the mantle.
