it was very muddy. and the campgrounds were closed. and crappy? you betcha. everything was brown and grey and horrible looking.

too freakin cold. and muddy. and downright crappy out doors in january.

memorial day is clearly celebrated by camping at the lake/river. fourth of july = bbq and fireworks. neither of which are appropriate behaviours for january holidays. although, i must confess that i spent the today at carter's lake, scouting out our camping spot for memorial day. pregaming, so to speak.

so, if your company closes the doors on mlk day, and is willing to pay you for it as part of your compensation package, what do you propose a person do? it's nearly impossible to give back a day's worth of pay to your payroll dept. and what is the recommended observation? what is it that were are supposed to be doing in order to properly observe mlk day, in your book. ps. someone bring me up to speed on just what the hell i'm supposed to be doing on president's day too.

i have GOT to get out of this house. serious cabin fever. not quite sure where to go or what to do, but i gotta get OUT of here.

ok. sold. i'm gonna go get a shark. if i experience any weirdness or don't like it for some reason, i can return it and try the bissell. thanks for all the input!!!

KRM.... what about the 'pumping' action? pita or not? are you using tap water or distilled? how many times do you have to stop and fill it when cleaning?

swiffer brand cleaner for hardwood floors. figured it was the best thing to use with the wet jet, considering the name of the product. it's crap though. my floors are not yet two years old. prefinished bruce hardwoods. both the bissell and the shark are priced about the same. cost isn't the variable. ease of use and performance are what i'm most concerned about.

i'm pissed off at my swiffer wet jet. it's junk. my hardwood floors are always streaked and dulled when they dry. i'm reading some reviews on the shark steam mop and the bissell steam mop. anyone who uses one is welcome to weigh in with their pros and cons. the biggest differences i'm finding is that one has to be 'pumped' to create steam and the other has a trigger. not sure how much difference this really makes. i'm also confused about the distilled vs. tap water instructions i'm reading. any thoughts? recommendations?
