  1. my office is open but i'm working from home on monday. and today and tomorrow. yay.
  2. more information about texting 'haiti' 90999 to donate $10 and for donating through wyclef's foundation. Mobile carriers Verizon, AT&T Inc, Sprint and T-Mobile USA, a unit of Deutsche Telekom AG, have waived fees for customers wishing to send mobile donations, and have reported that they are not taking a cut of the donations. All funds are going to the Red Cross in their entirety, although there might be some lags till they actually go from the donor to the charity. Jim Manis, chief executive officer of The Mobile Giving Foundation, said in a statement that donations can take 90
  3. it just seems so strange that the local ups store would have even accepted your things. UPS is not accepting shipments from individuals or local organizations due to the logistics challenges in Haiti. Service will resume as soon as conditions allow. Shipments to Haiti made prior to the earthquake are temporarily being held at UPS facilities in Miami. Source: ups.com you'd think that branch offices would follow corporate guidelines. hopefully you weren't scammed by an employee.
  4. i still don't understand where your local ups shipped to......
  5. sorry. i must have read your post too literally when you said you took clothes to ups to be mailed to your friends.
  6. charity begins at home babe. you gotta take care of you and yours first.
  7. UPS should have been decent enough to let you know that they've suspended all shipping operations in haiti and are not flying in there at all.
  8. This is the way I was raised. It still surprises me to this day how many people feel the need to post their various contributions. I guess I am just old school, I would be uncomfortable... if the purpose is to inform, encourage/motivate others to do the same, i'm ok with sharing. browbeating and or bragging about it is uncouth.
  9. i say we make it a group effort. more affordable if everyone joins in. (double your pleasure and all that jizz jazz)
  10. you could eat off it. like sushi? i'm envisioning a killer buffet spread out on top.
  11. prolly needs to be polished pretty often. reckon something oil based would hurt the finish?
  12. i'm googling, but not finding much that's informative and comprehensible yet...
  13. no commentary necessary darlin'. just a screen name will do
  14. will do at this rate, i'll spend half the day on my knees.
  15. i just switched to acuvue oasis for astigmatism. so far it hasn't helped with the horrible glare (starburst effect) that i get off of every lighted source i look at. i'm disappointed. i'll have to come out of pocket 10 bucks if i order 6months of these, but i may switch brands. what brand do you wear>
  16. you get the three wick. cranberry scented.
  17. ouch! i go to Vision One, in hoity-ville. although my insurance covers 150 for frames and lenses every two years, i can't find frames for less than that in the office. i go with contacts, and will pick up a cheap pair of glasses from wallyworld and pay out of pocket. you've got my sympathy.
  18. i shall light a candle for your gum health.
  19. while i have often been of the opinion that hoping and praying are passive activities, so is talking about world crisis on a message board. however, with that being said, when there is nothing else you can possibly do to have a physical impact on a situation, hope and prayer can have a great spiritual/psychological impact. talk can ease the mind. prayer will ease the soul.
