  1. oooh! thanks. we took them with us for his permit, i wouldn't have remembered them for his license. no, not yet. i wanted to make sure all of the criteria was met before scheduling anything.
  2. i'm infected with the security tool virus, which won't allow me to run any scans or do any containment. running in safe mode now...frantically trying to find a program which will run and get rid of this monster. dammit.
  3. i'm getting really weird notifications about worms trying to send credit card info.
  4. My son has his learner's permit and will be eligible to take his driving test next week. We've completed the parent/teen driving guide and I'm looking in to the online course to complete the requirements. I'm finding conflicting info regarding what's approved/acceptable, and what's not. Any hints, tips, or personal experiences you'd care to share?

  9. oh, are y'all back to discussing the actual topic? or is this just going to be more 'inappropriate grieving' talk?
  10. not only do i recognize my bigotry, i own up to it. i don't, however, try to push my beliefs off on anyone else. i feel the way i do, you can feel the way you do. my feelings aren't based in fear or ignorance. and i doubt they'll ever change.
  11. it's been moved to the 'animal house' forum. i'm of the opinion that the author of the post should ALWAYS be notified when their post if moved, but hey, i'm not a mod. you can find it by clicking on your profile, then clicking 'topics'.
  12. um, eym sirius, you're lumping a bunch of people together there yourself. i've not once in this thread made mention of murder, bombing, or terrorists. however, i am a conservative who disagrees with the foundations of the muslim faith. and how can it not be about religion. we're speaking of a religion. muslim.
  13. i can't speak for all americans, rays. but i for one am not islamophobic. i don't have any irrational fears regarding muslims.
  14. The Shari'ah is the Divine Law by virtue of accepting which a person becomes a Muslim. so, once a person becomes a muslim, they can choose to denounce sharia law? i guess that would work the same way as a christian denouncing christ, but still remaining a christian, ps. how can you tell by looking? and not because of any 'irrational fear'. thus making the majority of people who hate muslims NOT phobic.
  15. i'm not following you. "For many contemporary Muslims, being a Muslim means following the "Shari'ah" of Islam, as pointed out by the well-known Muslim scholar, Seyyed Hossein Nasr, who says: The Shari'ah is the Divine Law by virtue of accepting which a person becomes a Muslim. Only he who accepts the injunctions of the Shari'ah as binding upon him is a Muslim although he may not be able to realise all of its teachings or follow all of its commands in life. The Shari'ah is the ideal pattern for the individual's life and the Law which binds the Muslim people into a single community.
  16. i still have no clue which fountains are being discussed.
  17. i don't think that i would use 'phobic' to describe the way i feel about islamic law. A phobia (from the Greek: φόβος,phóbos, meaning "fear" or "morbid fear") is an irrational, intense and persistent fear of certain situations, activities, things, animals, or people. The main symptom of this disorder is the excessive and unreasonable desire to avoid the feared stimulus. When the fear is beyond one's control, and if the fear is interfering with daily life, then a diagnosis under one of the anxiety disorders can be made. it's not irrational, to me, to be against the violence that islamic
