if it's been ten years.....get ready for a lifestyle change. any fake nails will have to be maintained or you might as well not get them at all.
expect appointments every two weeks for fills and polish changes. and don't be surprised at how many nails you break while your getting used to them again.
i like the gels. less damage to your nailbeds when you decide to let them grow out. i don't ever suggest taking off fake nails. just buff them down smooth while you're letting them grow out naturally.

i can walk just fine in my flip flops. from the house to the car, all around walmart, then from the car to the house.
i have my timerlands, in case someone wants to invite me into the woods.
i cannot speak for society. but yes, if you have fungus, black cruddy nails, thick cracked skin on your heels........you shouldn't wear flip flops.
and corns. my god.
i saw someone wearing flip flops with giant corn pads on their huge corns.
