  1. i feel you there. without having workbooks, hand out sheets, or a text book to go from, it's really hard to support what the teacher is teaching in class. for most of us, it's been a while since we were schooled, and things have changed an awful lot. here's hoping that you can work out something with your teachers so that they'll send home assignments, just for your kids, upon request. you sound like an extremely proactive parent, and i applaud that!
  2. sounds like the dog is small enough to be puntable. try that. but, put on shoes first.
  3. we should gang up and choke the crap outta cmorg.
  4. i feel the same way about small children. leashed or inside a fence/pen. AT ALL TIMES!!!
  5. you crack me up. why participate/perpetuate an arguement that you have nothing to do with? if your child isn't assigned homeowrk over the weekends, why stand up and allow yourself to be critized for the way you feel about homeowork on the weekends? ridiculous. having no school aged children at home, i don't have a dog in this fight. one of my kids works with me everyday. the other attends college fulltime and works fulltime, yet still manages to come by the office to see us three days a week for lunch. i get my family time where ever i can take it. and again,
  6. why would you complain about your child not having homework? is your child falling behind in their grades? would the homework grade make up for poor test grades? or would the homework itself benefit your child's learning so that they would test better? i'm only asking because, as a parent, you can assign your own homework to enrich your child's learning experience. food for thought. and as a side note for cruisegal......no one can critize you if you keep your business to yourself. if you voluntarily put it out there, prepare for people to disagree. and prepare t
  7. i'm still trying to figure out if i care enough to be irked by anyone's view on homework. i'm thinking, not. if you don't want your kid to do homework on weekends..... don't make them. and don't bitch when they get a zero on their assignments. everyone has choices in life. make your choice, and deal with the consequence. no use getting worked up over how someone else views your choice, as long as you are willing to face your consequence. also, no use at all getting worked up over the choices that others make. let 'em face their consequences, and mind your business.
  8. orange. it's ugly as crap. but i can see all my stuff.
  9. status update, I believe. which is odd. to be so public about all the gloriousness of the engagement and wedding plans. then suddenly hush hush about the break up. I guess some things are private matters. well, semi private, anyway.
  10. open bar and finger foods work just fine for me. oh! and a tasteful cocktail dress.
  11. pfft. i'm only 'friends' with three or four people from highschool. much more interesting to peruse the profiles of those on pcom who have their walls open to public viewing!
  12. I beg to differ. and, celebrities are not my childrens peers. having a crowd is sometimes a good thing. depending on the crowd. parents do have great influence and control over who their children consider their crowd. if they choose to exercise it..... choosing not to be part of your child's life and or friend or relationships, is bad parenting, in my book. choosing to not further your child's education in the home, and letting them look to the media for role models instead of their parents.....exfremely bad parenting. feel free to disagree. not everyone parents the
  13. if your children are more influenced by celebrities and the media, you're not doing a very good job at parenting.
  14. <----- doesn't wear lipstick. it leaves evidence
  15. PGhas been looking forward to it all week. she's watching it again, because I was doing dishes and she missed some dialog..... I suppose I should pay some attention, as this will likely become a reg Monday night show for us.
  16. nope. raising any of my kids wasn't a walk in the park. parenting is hard, regardless.
  17. i was pregnant in the ninth grade, in Memphis. my son is now in college. I'm a professional with a great career. I own my home and drive a great car, as does my son. reckon what kind of statistic I am?
  18. ask yourself how proud your momma would be of this post. did she not raise you any better than to act crappy to someone trying to do their job and please the customer? for shame.
  19. what a jackass sign. i suppose he really is only good at writing scripts for atibiotics and motrin. there's no way i would EVER trust Dr. Sayeed with anything more complicated than splinter.
