  1. condemned? that's a harsh word. i don't think i would condemn a person if they had to voluntarily turn in their home or car because they couldn't find work and couldn't figure out a payment plan that could save them. people blowing off credit card debt, going in to collections, and trying to 'beat' the collection in court are much different than folks who have catastrophic illness, death, or job loss.
  2. and i'm not being a smart ass. off to go research the penalties for recanting....
  3. when a person recants...do they do so under oath? why is there no perjury charge for giving false testimony the firt time around?
  4. mine hasn't changed. i wonder if it's because i haven't logged out and logged back in.....
  5. where? with Pubby posing hypotheticals and asking for opinions, there's certainly been a turn in the nature of the conversation. but, if remarking on that is me 'going again' so be it. wanna go to lunch tomorrow? you can let me know how miserable and negative i am in person. you failed to mention any of that the last time we met, i'd love for you to have the opportunity. I'll pm you my phone number, so you can just call me to tell me off, instead of humping my leg on pcom.
  6. i'm not holier than thou. hell, i'm not holier than the damn dog. but i also don't feel the need to consider anyone's financial circumstances, until they make those circumstances public. how about, if you don't wanna be judged about your 'business' you keep your 'business' to your self. my goal on pcom isn't to learn your life story. it's to read your post, and react to your post. good, bad, or indifferent. if you'd rather there not be any bad or indifferent reactions to your posts...don't put it out there for the entire world to read...and judge, and react to.
  7. i've seen the previews. i wish this movie had come out 8 years ago.
  8. the reality of the situation is that folks seem to be able to justify whatever they'd like, to themselves. and that's all well and good. if you can have warm fuzzies about your decisions when you go to sleep at night, why worry about whether or not someone else thinks you're a douchebag? i'm a finance manager. of course i'm going to think you're a lowlife and a deadbeat if you don't pay your bills. i'm also going to think you're a flaming idiot if you get blindsided by a collection matter. check you dang credit report. at least once a year. dispute charges that aren't yours. pay the ones t
  9. I wanna go, but Cletus isn't thrilled about the traffic and parking situation... Perhaps ya'll could chime in and help convince him to bring me??
  10. Pubby, Your question wasn't posed to me but I'm going to answer anyway. When a person buys a home, they typically buy one that they want, at a price they're comfortable paying. At least I did. The value of a home may decrease, but the person who took the mortgage did so knowing that it was a 15 or 30 year commitment. Why should they feel its ok to dishonor their obligation to pay? They took the loan, they got the house.... New cars depreciate the minute you drive them off the lot. Should people skip it on their cat payments because the car is no longer worth its original value at the tim
  11. I got 4 mdj's if the op needs any particular coupons. they don't have all the ones the ajc does though...

  13. ooh! the dallas farmers market in the old courthouse parking lot had llamas last Saturday. they said they would be back this Saturday from 9am till noon. it was awesome to pet them, and have my pic taken with one. also, they didn't spit!!!
  14. oh honey, you're putting too much time and energy into me. I don't know it all, nor do I pretend to. also, I can't cook. So I'm sure you're one up on me there.
  15. call my mom. she does scrapbooks for the kids on birthdays and graduations. I'm sure she would LOVE to bring you some goodies next weekend....
  16. Something about offering to pay more than half of the debt owed reeks of knowing you owe the money. but then again, I'm just making negative comments to point out the fact that I'm better than you. if you ever have reason to do business with the company I work for, feel free to message dgitw or me. we deal in data migration and integration. and no, you wouldn't have to deal with any other Americans. one of the luxuries of working for a foreign company!
  17. not for having knowledge, but for skipping out on 11 grand that you admit you owed. yep, you get my vote. and then for being classless enough to brag about it? double lowlife. and this is exactly why my company runs credit checks on all prospective new employees.
  18. ya know.... folks talking about killing babies is pretty damn gross. how about, just use condoms????
  19. not yet. John has been mysteriously m.i.a., and i refuse to watch without him. maybe wafl will let me borrow him on Sunday.......
