I would think if the stay at the Assisted Living place is temporary then you would still say you reside in Paulding. It would be no different than being in a hospital or nursing facility for treatment of an illness. That's just my opinion, though.

Does anyone use John Hurst Garbage Service? We've used him for 40+ years and now their phone number has been disconnected and we've had no trash pick up for 2 weeks. Just wondering if they've gone out of business without telling their customers. Any recommendations on a new trash pick up company?

We always had real trees while the kids were growing up. It was a fun time to take them to the tree farm to pick one out and cut it down. Now that it's just me and hubby we've gone to the dark side and bought a fake one. It's just easier on us. I do love the smell of a real tree, though, and I miss that.

We froze ours. Hubby's was free because he's over 65. Equifax is waiving the $3.00 charge for folks under 65. Experian and TransUnion both were $3.00 for me and free for my husband. Cost us a total of $6.00 for the peace of mind. Well worth it, IMO.

I just noticed on Sunday that the RaceTrac on Richard Sailors Pkwy in Powder Springs is now a Shell station. My son said they changed it over sometime in the last 2 weeks or so.

What I heard was they were doing this because of safety concerns. They feel like the eclipse could be a distraction for drivers and the possibility of a wreck will be increased. They don't want the buses on the road during the eclipse.

We heard that, too, here in Hiram near Cleburne Pkwy. It shook our house. We thought it was a huge firework being set off by one of our neighbors but I guess since it was heard several miles away that's not the case. Not sure what that was.

The burn ban for Paulding was lifted yesterday.

My 2-1/2 yo grandson has been on antibiotics for strep for a week but started running a temp of 103 on Sunday night. Took him back to the doc and he said he's apparently picked up a virus of some sort....the temp isn't related to the strep, flu test was negative and ears look fine. Anyway, he ran a fever Monday but was fine yesterday. The doctor said he's seen alot of this lately.

That's the plan my husband has picked, too, since Aetna ended their plan. We have a friend who has had Coventry before and was very pleased with them.

Have you tried turning the water off at the street where it comes in to your meter? Could the leak possibly be on the county side and not on your side?

I thought if the meter stops spinning when you turn off the water to the house then that means the leak is on the county side...not the homeowner's side. If it keeps running then you have a leak on the house side of the meter. Seems like that's what the water dept told my neighbor when she was trying to locate a leak she had a few months ago. Maybe not, though. I've slept since then. LOL!!!

We went to Sleepy Hollow last year. We've never been to any other mazes so I can't really do a comparison but it was fun and the grandkids enjoyed it.
