  1. I think we need a chili cookoff or something......bbq fest...some sorta funt hing. These old car shows get boring after the first few.
  2. Oh no the anticipation is going to kill me!! Looking forward to more info thanks LPPT!
  3. http://www.cityofhiramga.gov/Calendar.aspx?EID=116 all it says is car show and wing eating contest..... I want a dang sampling event I'm tired of going up to Blue Ridge to find fun stuff to do
  4. Is it too much to ask that the tornado come this way and transport my less than desirable neighbors back to where they came from?
  5. This is all great stuff to hear! Thanks everyone
  6. It is beautiful outside! I've got a kiddo slightly under the weather so we're missing out. Maybe I'll drag him out in a bit for some fresh air. I'm a bit sad at the thought of leaving our school but if Abney is awesome that would help with the sadness
  7. Just wondering how parents and their kids that attend the new Abney feel about the school, teachers, pta etc If you don't want to say on here, you can send me a PM
  8. Jeep Commander, total gas hog but I love it, love the room and love the ability to haul stuff in it. Only have 2 years of payments left on it. Pretty sure I can't trade it in, not sure if I'd want to. I don't go far (Acworth is about the farthest) so I guess I'll just deal with it.
  9. ok now someone tell Hiram. Don't they have people who make this stuff happen?
  10. Well ya never know I'd love a grocery store....but it would have to be closer than where they are clearing out. I can get to the New Georgia Publix in about 15 minutes....but then again maybe 15 minutes is a not too bad drive. Sometimes seems like it would be nice to have everything close by.....but then I think of the traffic yuck.
  11. thats what I was hoping (over a subdivision) I noticed the for sale signs were still up but didn't know if they just weren't in a rush to remove them.
  12. Being nosey here.....I was curious if it was an individual just selling off the wood or if its being cleared to build something. I kind of miss the trees
  13. I just peed myself hahahahaha YES!!!! I sure freakin hope so!! What?! When? Where? Why? How? MMmm I wish a Dennys would open up. Ihop is the only bfast place out there....not counting those huddle/waffle house places. Blech. Actually, they are building some under the new extension around Bill Carruth......they addressed this at the last county meeting.
  14. OK so who is going to tell Hiram about this? lol If its one thing people love to do its eat! Ohhh I'd love a wing fest type thing too. We went to one in Marietta and it was a disappointment. I thought the pricing was yuck and the crowd was insane. I knew it'd be packed but it was rough to navigate and overwhelming. They had jumpy things and craft vendors which paired with the concession stands and entries for the contest, was just too much.
  15. This whole ordeal is so sad
  16. Hiram would be great...they did a good job with parking and everything when they had the whole Tree Lighting thing. They seem to know how to organize stuff. For the record, I think a BBQ or Chili cook off might draw more people in than a Brunswick stew one...though I'm an equal opportunity brunswick stew, bbq & chili eater lol
  17. Maybe if no one claims it you can let the church know and they can ask their members at the next service?
  18. I don't feel bad for the rodeo...thats just cruel what they do to those innocent animals but I'd proudly support them using molesters instead. Downtown Blue Ridge is pretty small though the lay out of it is nicer than downtown Dallas in the sense that it is pretty much just a long street or two. I think for this to be successful it would need to be priced right (we thought $5 per bracelet was GREAT!), be easy to get to and have ample parking. They had a bluegrass band playing too. I've never heard of anything like this going on out here but if I had and the price was right I'd go.
  19. Well...maybe no beer. Folks out here wouldn't be able to handle it.
  20. It was major fun. I wish someone out here would organize something like that. They charged $5 per person for a wristband allowing you to sample the various chili....I think there were 14. $12 for a combo wristband (2 beer samples (in special beer area that was guarded to keep it 21+ etc & chili) It was really well done! They had it in downtown Blue Ridge so people were shopping at the various stores, getting ice cream etc. Too bad we don't really have anything to shop from in downtown Dallas.
  21. I saw that and was amazed!!!
