  1. Yes they do. Oh my gosh....I'm a statistic for sure now!!!! Can you still get the flu if you have the shot? Our dr told us that as a normally healthy adult, a flu shot may or may not do any good because it only vaccinates against 1 or 2 strains and there are too many strains to count out there. I will seriously consider getting one next year.
  2. Ouch, that is some letter. Does Mr. Hankerson have to answer to anyone beside the voters or can he continue to do whatever the He!! he wants to despite the detriment to Cobb County and it's citizens?
  3. Yes, because you're head is spinning like you're on a merry-go-round. And modesty goes right out the window when you're this sick. Believe me after 30 years together, we don't have too many secrets, but some things you just don't share, unless of course you're this ill. I've always said to keep the guy who'd hold your hair back while you puke, well Hubby did that as well as holding the bowl and trashcan I was puking in. He must really like me.
  4. HAPPY, HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!! :yahoo:
  5. I'm not sure I've ever had this before. I do know one thing though, MANY people throw around the word 'flu' like it's nothing, 'Oh, I have the flu', as they are eating out, bowling or walking the mall. UUMM yea......no ya don't. We all feel bad with sniffles or a stomach issues at times and are able to still function, but this gut punched me to the extent that I couldn't hold my head up. And as P-H-O-B-I-C as I am about needles, to actually ask to go to the hospital to get an IV was over the top for me. I think my family thought I may be dying.
  6. I didn't get a flu shot because I'm invincible and much, uummmm, smarter than the flu. How'd that work out for me?? I think I forget sometimes that I really am 50 years old and not 30. As far as the Tamiflu goes, I was told after I had it filled that it may or may not help, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. It's quite pricey for a maybe fix. We paid $65.00 with ins and without it, it would have been $155.00. Thanks for the good wishes y'al!!
  7. Our goal has been to try as hard as we can to keep anyone else, especially the kiddos, from getting it. I've been sequestered in my room since Friday, I ventured out this morning and was shooed right back in. Luckily, I have help that is taking good care of me. Oh and banana popcicles have been my friend the last few days.
  8. Hubby has been held until 11:00 tonite because after dark last night, all He!! broke loose when people started cranking up the heat, transformers, fuses and all kinds of stuff starting blowing up. And regardless of the temperature, it all has to be fixed ASAP.
  9. ........is the DEBIL!! I started feeling bad on Thursday while shopping for my MIL a car. By Friday and a temp of 102, we went to the dr, where I was diagnosed with the honest to goodness flu. Got Tamiflu, cough meds with codine(sp) and a steroid shot. With an ulcer, I have to be careful about all kinds of meds but these were necessary along with ibuprofin(sp) for fever. The nausea set in late Friday night and I could keep nothing down, which led to the partial day in the ER with IV meds and fluids on Saturday. I don't remember too much about the next 24 hours except Hubby medicating me a
  10. But don't you know that's what toughens up our kids, keeps them tough and keeps them from becoming wusses? Yep, frostbite and organ heat loss will make a good upstanding adult out of any whiney little kid. Put gloves and a scarf on them and kick them out into 6 degree weather, that'll show 'em. 'Toughen up or die kid'.
  11. I'm not on FB and middleschooler sure as hack isn't. It's irresponsible for a school to tell kids to log on FB and raise money. I don't think so.
  12. But see, what these people are so conveniently side stepping is the fact that NO ONE, not GA,TN, MA, PA, etc., is prepared for these temperatures. Why would they be? There hasn't been air this cold in decades and you're supposed to prepare for them? What kind of He!! would be stirred up if the state of Ga actually prepared the schools for this kind of weather, how much would it add to the bottom line to outfit the HVAC system, buses, etc. for two days of weather that may never come? It's stupid to think that that's even a possibility. And why is it such a hardship to have kids out of scho
  13. You can buy a gun as a gift for your spouse in Ga.
  14. That's exactly how we saw it too. I didn't buy the dog story after seeing the tire marks.
  15. We had black eyed peas, collards, fried potatoes, and ham. Hubby will be getting all of the loot because I don't eat collards, but I'll be plenty lucky because black eyed peas are my fav!
  16. I tried to do that last night but it kept saying that the file was too big. I'll try again right now with a different pic.
  17. She's had a bath and she's really blond now. She was really good and didn't shed at all, no fleas either. She's got to belong to someone, she's just too good with people not to. Owners, where are you????????????????
  18. Just saw this on the news, 2 killed on South Cobb drive. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/all-lanes-blocked-south-cobb-dr-near-carruth-drive/ncZSz/
  19. We have fliers ready to put out and little missy howled about every 10 minutes all night long. She's in the kitchen now awaiting her bath so she can stay inside. Hubbys idea, not mine. This is craziness and unless her people aren't home and don't know she's missing, they haven't come this way looking for her. I told Hubby last night that I was afraid that someone had gotten a new pup for Christmas and put her out in favor of the new one. We're going to check her for a chip tomorrow and go from there. If she doesn't have one and no one claims her, I'm going to have one sweet girls up for
  20. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!
  21. H-O-L-Y ^*(&^#@_(&_#(&_(&(_#&!q, now she HOWLING at the bottom of the steps. What am I going to do, put her back outside in the cold? At least out there she wasn't howling. Oh LORD!!!???? If any one of us at this house had a hard heart, this wouldn't be an issue. But guess what? We all loves the animals, so therefore, I guess the howling will continue.
  22. And this is why we ALWAYS stay home on New Years. For as much as I want you to be successful, I don't want to be one of the people you have rescue. Good luck and please be careful.
  23. Guess who's in the basement now.............HHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMM, I wonder? O-H and Joey, our pound puppy, hates us now. 'Blondie' is so sweet and has endeared herself to everyone here and he's not happy about it at all. He keeps looking at us like he's going to bite us when we go to sleep. When we let her into the house and middleschooler picked her up to go to the basement (because she likes the sofa better and wouldn't follow on her own), she spread her legs out and tried to catch on the door frame, she didn't want to go! She has made us laugh and laugh and now Joey is MOOOOOOOIN
  24. We plan on that in morning, but I keep thinking she'll go home on her own, B-U-T NOOOOOOOOO, she's still looking in the window. We've put a big box with blankets, food and water on the front porch for her and she keeps pecking on the window screen looking in all saaaad. Silly dog.
