  1. Thanks y'all! I'm a firm believer that everyday I wake up on this side of the dirt is a good day. I'm thankful to be 50, especially as long as they make 2N/211 hair color at Sallys!!!
  2. In Decatur, at 2 am and asked a stranger for a ride to an ATM? WOW.
  3. You mean it's not flat? Where have I been??????
  4. I'm glad he's going to be OK, but who give 4 strangers a ride?
  5.   'OOOHHH Chaaaalie, that hurt'! BAWHAWHAWHAW!!!!
  6. That's the one I want to see!!
  7. OK, now that IS NOT funny!!! No, I'm sorry.........it really is!!!!!  And I love the card, thank you!!
  8. That's the dang truth!! In Hubbys line of work, he sometimes can't help all of the people he is sent to help. Sometimes the issues are not a Georgia Power issue, but the customers and they need an electrician to fix it, then GPC can do their job afterward. I can't tell you haw many ill tempered situations he has defused with a few kind words and a clear explanation.
  9. Wow, I just saved an additional $8.00 off of the expedia price for a room in Jacksonville for the night before our cruise in October. Maybe this isn't a bad thing after all.
  10. That's true and that is a huge pet peeve of mine. But if the food is good, I can deal with it.
  11. Sooooo, today just happens to be my 50th birthday and after running errands with my grandson, I got home, went to the mailbox and what do you think I found besides a very sweet card from my sister-in-law?????????? My welcome packet to AARP. Not an invitation to join, but my actual card and all the info that goes with it. I don't even know what benefits they offer. Nobody will own it, but someone close to me is a r-e-a-l comedian!!!!!  We took pix of me and all the kids and grandkids and middleschooler won the toss as to the one we would post. So this is me and my 11 year
  12. Wow, what an inspiration for couples everywhere!!!
  13. That is my entire concern. I have my video camera ready and my phone takes videos too. I don't necessarily want him to get into trouble, I just want him to stop.
  14. My husband works and the letter I got a few weeks ago from the ins company and his HR dept, said that because of this act, our ins was going down $130.00 a month, coverage won't change and we have a rebate credit of almost $500.00 to be applied to future premiums. So, I guess if you work, it does apply.
  15. Well, now that would make too much sense wouldn't it?? Fear mongering is so much more fun.
  16. My MIL used to do that and she actually admitted on more than one occasion that she didn't feel like she should have to wait. She really said that and Hubby blasted her about it one day. She may still do it, but she certainly doesn't brag about it anymore. WTH!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
  17. OMG, that must have been a 'thing' because my mother and sister used to say the same thing. I haven't heard that in years!!!! 'Who do they think they are, a privileged character or something'?
  18. I can't say because I guess I take parenting too seriously. People should watch their kids, not let them drive at 12, feed them, discipline them, help them, encourage them, pay attention to them, nurture them, motivate them, and let them fall on their face if need be, etc. I believe that so many parents don't care what their kids are doing as long as they aren't bothering them, I'm not that gal and I don't think you are either. Would either of us even think to let our 12 year old kid drive a drunk friend to the closest burger joint? I don't think so!
  19. Not the case here. Mom, grandpa and grandma were home this afternoon when this was going on. They pay no attention as long as he's not bothering them, he could drive to Wisconsin before they even realized he was gone. Middleschooler told him and his grandpa today that you shouldn't be driving around with no license and they both laughed it off and said it was no big deal, that he was a good driver. So they KNOW what's going on. I just don't want him hurt and I certainly don't want one of mine hurt. I hate that he seems so disposable to his own family it makes me sad.
  20. That was my thought too. I've been told by the Sheriffs dept more than once that if they 'didn't see it happen, there is nothing they can do', which still boggles my mind.
