Erotica=Ron Jeremy porn? SERIOUSLY? Not so.

Yep. Middleschooler was out for 5 days with strep once and we had a dr's excuse. He actually could have on the 5th day, but he was so wiped out from being sick, I kept him home.

Does this guy dress up like a drum majorette and dance around downtown?

It's great that you only missed 3 days of school for 13 years, but one thing that MAKES ME CRAZY is when people send SICK kids to school just so they can get perfect attendance. I can't count on two hands the number of parents I've heard bragging that little Johnny had strep throat, but they made him come to school and weather the storm because they wanted the perfect attendance certificate at the end of the year. SOOOOO NOOOOOT COOL. I doubt that middleschooler has missed 16 days of school from k-6th grade. But, if he's sick, I don't hesitate to keep him at home.

I haven't read either of the three, but my daughter did and she said it was almost painful to try to get through because, like you said, it was so poorly written. I completely agree.

No kidding!! The whole, 'if he'd have been at work' idea is beyond stupid.

I did see the info about the storage units, but MIL told me yesterday that I could have whatever I wanted and that she was going to have an estate sale and sell practically everything she owned and buy smaller furniture to fit a smaller space. Also, she tends to 'overbuy' really odd things. She's not a hoarder, but she has LOTS of UNNEEDED ..........clutter.

I have learned through my research today that there are two very distinct types of 'senior living'. Seniors in one category have a well of resources to pull from and the others are on a limited budget, hence the move to an 'all inclusive' senior community. I obviously had no idea how any of this worked, but I'm learning.

I did check the prices and there is no way she can afford to live there. They're off the charts. MIL is totally mobile, but in our minds she shouldn't be driving. However, she still does. Thank you! I've never heard of it and thank you for the info. She said last night that she couldn't find anything in Dallas or Hiram, but I think it may ba because she doesn't want to. Now with names to these places under my belt, she can't ignore me.

Thank you for this! I can't wait to share all this info with her.

Unfortunately, it's too da&n true.

Where are they located? My MIL has the Decatur location lodged in her head because her therapist suggested it. Not wise at all. Wow, I just looked up Amberley and it really looks nice. I'll pass along the info to her this morning. And Since she's in Powder Springs already, that would still be pretty close. Thanks!!!

A senior apt, not assisted living. The places she has been looking have activities, outings, community dining if you want it, laundry svc., etc. But then you have your own 1 bedroom apt with kitchenette. And I recommended Creekside to her today, I saw it online and I liked it. Thank you for the info!

I thought that too. HHHMMMMMM?!?!?!??!?!?!

Wow, you beat me to the punch, I just read that and came back to post it. Talk about getting off easy, what a coward.

Harvard Study regarding gun related deaths
dawneykids replied to Mama Carol's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Most responsible gun owners already know that, but with this being a Harvard study, others may actually listen now. Bad guys will ALWAYS have guns, no matter what kind of stricter gun laws are put on the books and the rest of us will just become bigger targets. -
Yea, well......that boat has already sailed with MIL on it, so that's NOT an option. I'm just trying to keep her from moving to a place in Dacatur because her dr's aren't there, her friends are all in Cobb county. There is nothing for her in Decatur, but she's really hard headed and impulsive so she may end up there alone. Who knows????

Holy smokes!!! My MIL has decided to sell her house and move to a senior complex to save money, but heck, she could stay where she is for half that price. My bedroom is over almost 425sf on it's own, wow, who could afford that?

Does anyone know the name of the new assisted living facility by Walmart on Dallas hwy? Thanks!

The defense attorney in this case was a real piece of work. He never tried to convince anyone that his client wasn't guilty, he just pointed the finger at everyone else. 'Well, you've smoked crack in the past haven't you'? 'Yes, but I didn't kill this child'. 'But you do admit to having a drug problem, don't you'? 'And where were you at the time of this childs death'? 'I don't remember'. 'So, you can't account for your whereabouts at the time of the shooting, can you'? So on and so forth. Of course it didn't work for him, but that kind tactic turns me off completely.

My husband works and has all kinds of time when he gets home from work. This guy is an idiot and a fool, but just because he was at home doesn't mean he didn't have a job. Who works 24/7?

Elderly people also have hallucinations when they abuse unneeded prescription pain medication when they eat them like Smarties. Been there, done that waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many times, which leads to the person with the hallucinations with no credibility if they ever have real issues in the future.

Marijuana Ruling Could Signal End of Prohibition on Pot
dawneykids replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Hubby and I have had this conversation and we agree. My question is, is if this stuff were no longer illegal, would more people use it? I don't think so. Just because cocaine or crack suddenly becomes available and not against the law, I don't know anyone who would suddenly become an addict. I know it would never cross our threshold. -
We have 2 of these and they are very sturdy and you can't beat the price.
