NewsJunky
Thank You NJ! Never heard of Stoutt? Do you know if he has held any office/worked in the County? He works for a Community Bank I believe. Think he may have a web site out there somewhere. He is a banker. I video taped the three mentioned at the GOP meeting on Saturday. I hope to get the video up this coming week. pubby Thanks Pubby, I want to see it.
SoldbyShawna
Here is the website for Daniel Stouts campaign. http://www.electdanielstout.com/ We had an informative forum Saturday and the Paulding County Republican Women meeting. Pubby was there and filmed it. We have 3 very good candidates to chose from. Personally, I will be supporting Kim Curl. But I was highly impressed with Daniel Stout and believe that he would be a fine representative.

confederaterose
It seems several that were on the school board are running. They got beat in the last election. Is this county now going to elect them to their level of incompetence? If they are not qualified for the school board, what does qualify them to be our representative? Sound like just more good ole Paulding County politics to me. I went to Daniel Stout's web site. I also have issues with some of the things he states. The issues are mostly with things that are standard for the Rep. party.

feelip
Looks like Stout is the only "fresh meat" running. The others have been involved in Paulding politics to some extent in the past. At least a couple of them took part in the scam to find enough gullible voters to push the "save the rich developers" bond through (aka: school bond); although it now appears one of them might have dropped out of the race. The informative meetings are nothing but lip service. Everyone needs to do their research on these candidates and see what they have actually done to the Paulding County taxpayers in their past. Paulette is not running for this seat and Kim Curl was not defeated for his school board position. He is currently serving on the school board, has been for some time now, and as always, doing a great job! I don't know a lot about the other two candidates but I do know they have never run for or been elected to any school board seats in Paulding.

I can't believe the democrats aren't taking advantage of the situation after the mess Glenn and the republicans left not only the county, but the entire state of Georgia in. I would not be so quick to blame the Republicans. You know who has been in charge of Congress for the past few years and it WAS NOT Republicans. We, as a state, are in far better shape than most states. New York and Michigan are in terrible trouble. May have something to do with their Democrat led states. We could be far worse off in this economic down turn if not for the Republicans in Georgia. They are not perfect but they are far better than those who want to move us into Socialism. LPPT
I have been searching for more information about the candidates on the web. The information is sparse to none on them. In fact this thread came up first in google on a few. and was the most comprehensive. Not much to it if you are searching for their stance on multiple issues I did find a strange libertarian site that the authors leave much to be desired. However for those truly interested in the outcome of this election it will take some digging or direct phone calls to get enough information to make a choice between the 3 if your mind is not already made up. I honestly don't have time to chase after them to find out what their stance is. I listened to all 3 at the meeting, that is probably all I will know unless they get out there a little more. I don't vote based on who has the most signs in yards around the county. Even though I know many that have run for office, I don't base my vote on if I know them, but who I think would do the best job for our community. I am just amazed that none of these candidates have a strong web presence. Businesses even know that they need a strong web presence to create informative name recognition. I have cards with bullets and pictures.

I always find this type of forum very informative and I thought Nancy Hollingshed did a great job of pulling it together on such short notice. Not sure if any of these candidates are interested in the assistance that Millcreek and I could offer as far as showing them the ropes of creating a large web presence. I do know that with the busy schedules that people have getting to rallies can be difficult. It was very short notice, I think the announcement on p.com helped to get more people there. A google search of district 19 candidates brought up Paulding.com. That means that the remarks in these threads are what the general public will find in researching the candidates. Pubby taped the event so hopefully that will give people a little more information.

WHITEY
I see that some of the regulars on this site are heaping High Praise upon Kim Curl, I agree he is a fine person but................ Is this the same person that at one point quit the School Board because he did not get his way?? Is this the same person That Donated money to the "Support Paulding Schools" committee during the School Bond election, That crammed the school bond down the throats of the citizens of Paulding County? Is this the same person that supported increases in School Taxes almost every year while he was serving on the School Board? While elected to the School Board? Can Mr. Curl hold both positions if elected to the House of Representives, Or will he resign from the School Board to run for this office. This is one candidate That has a past record that can be easily seen, Just look at the Tax Statement for the past several years as it relates to the SCHOOL TAXES you have paid, And the decision will be easy to not vote for Kim Curl. ENOUGH SAID

There are lots of members on this site that have just as much right to voice their opinions as you do. Now with that in mind, I can certainly say that Kim Curl has been a wonderful, contributing, civic minded citizen of Paulding County for many, many years. He has a wonderful reputation and I feel, if he is elected, he will do a great job for our district. As for the School Bond, obviously MORE people than not saw the need for its passage. Thank goodness there are people out there that had the foresight to recognize that the School Bond had to pass to help ensure the children of Paulding County receive the best education possible. I know Georgia was better off after Barnes left office than it will be when Perdue leaves office, and not all of that can be blamed on the economy. My point is that a lot of voters will vote against an entire party just to show their dismay with the party just leaving office (worked for Obama). Personally, I don't like to see either party have absolute power and that's what we have had here in Paulding for a long time. Look where we are.
