  1. Stradial, this is very similar to what happened to us last week (Bromley Walk subdivision). I didn't hear a knock but my dog went nuts and my son said "Someone's at the door." I didn't open it, but looked out a window and saw the guy. I mouthed "NO" and he said "I'm selling magazines..." so I mouthed "NO" again and shook my head. 8:30 at night, in the dar, COLD as everything outside. I know it's not illegal, but I don't like someone coming to my door unexpectedly.
  2. Yes, sheriff was called and responded. I'm told that a salesperson came to the front door, home owner opened it (shouldn't have) and while they were talking and the homeowner was distracted, another person tried to come in the back door.
  3. Over the past two weeks our neighborhood has seen a sudden increase in door-to-door salespeople, peddling everything from newspapers subscriptions to windows. Last night, there was an attempted break in by one of these "salespeople." Anyone else in Paulding noticed this kind of activity?
  4. Not what you're looking for, I know, but don't miss Singleton's in Mayport. Awesome food. You can take the car ferry (lands right next door).
  5. Aww cool! He is my 6th cousin! Really! (my maiden name was Haggard).
  6. Did anyone attend the BOE Public Forum on Tuesday night? What was said about PB Ritch Elementary? I'm attending the one next week.
  7. Someone should set up a facebook group so that it can accept pay pal and drive donations that way. If I knew how, I would do it!
  8. I'm confused. From the BOE website: BOE meetings on 3/22 and 3/29. Then it says: PUBLIC HEARINGS Both public hearings will be held at the Paulding County School District Office located in Dallas, Georgia at 3236 Atlanta Highway. The dates and times of the meetings are listed below. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 6:30 p.m. So what do we attend?
  9. I worked it in 2009. Let me know if I can help.
  10. No answer. They must be closed for the holiday.
  11. Took the kids and the puppy to Taylor Farm Park this morning and the playground was roped off with colored tape (all the way around the 4 posts of the awning). Anyone know why?
  12. Chili made with ground turkey because the ground beef was sold out at Kroger! That's okay, the turkey is healthier anyway!
  13. My kids (6 & eight) stopped watching Hannah Montana some time ago because 1) I decided she was not a good role model (this is not the first thing...she wears some pretty skimpy outfits in concert, from the pictures I've seen), and 2) the attitude that my kids were picking up from the show was driving me nuts. When we stop watching it, the attitude gets much better.
  14. It matters!!! Bad spelling makes you look ignorant and lazy.
  15. I have been married for almsot 9 years to my first husband. I get divorced at least once a day in my mind, usually.
  16. Well, sadly, we did miss the Tiger Walk (couldn't find it and didn't get there in time...thanks to lost DH). But my son was thrilled with the win. One thing you might not have seen on TV...everytime Auburn scored, somebody dropped a dollar bill from the upper deck.
  17. Yes, the Skechers Shape Ups are AWESOME! I have had problems with Plantar Fascitis since December of 2008. Wore the night splint, took the anti-inflammatory pills, had the cortisone shots. Once I got the skechers Shape Ups, my daily pain went from a 9-10 (on a scale of 1-10) to a 1-2. I have a "work" pair that are all black (they still look goofy, but I don't care...at least I'm not in pain) and a tennis shoe pair. They are SO worth the money!!! p.s. as far as the weight thing goes, my doctor told me that runners get this, overweight people, some people in both feet, or one foot...there is
  18. Does anyone know where the "Tiger Walk" takes place at Auburn, before the game? My son really wants to see it.
  19. My husband is a UGA alum and our family always roots for the bulldogs. Two years ago my son, who is now 6, decided he had to be different and root for Auburn. This Saturday the 4 of us will be at the game, and it will be my son's first Auburn football game. He is over the moon excited, and I secretly hope Auburn wins, just to make him happy. He says he wants to be Aubbie one day (the mascot). It's going to be a beautiful day!
  20. I pulled over to let the Fire/Rescue pass me, right after I turned from Ridge Road onto Mein Mitchell, around 5:30 tonight. It looked like two cars were involved, just before the 2nd entrance to Bromley Walk subdivision. Mein Mitchell was closed for about an hour. Anyone know what happened? Was everyone okay?
  21. He just arrived and said there are hundreds of people there. I hope he's exaggerating, because it's cold!
  22. Any word from Austin Middle? My husband is headed there.
  23. I don't hate you or anyone, based on whether they vote or not.
