  1. The judge believes he would have and I think he is a little closer to the case than any of us. And the judge believes Zimmerman would flee today but that ankle bracelet is why he is out on bail now.
  2. New studies show it doesn't work. All the "therapies" and prayer and whatever else doesn't change the sexual orientation of a gay person. My link
  3. The judge is not happy and said that while the law lets Zimmerman post the bond, the judge believes him to be a flight risk and wouldn't allow the bond to be posted were it not for the law allowing it. The judge was very clear that he believes Zimmerman was planning to leave to avoid prosecution, and would have stolen the money raised for his defense. My link
  4. So we're seeing that discrimination does exist based on age and religion. Imagine when it's a color involved.
  5. I no way am I blaming the employees. You guys are only given so many people to staff the place. This is squarely on the GA General Assembly. Short sighted and not too bright, that bunch.
  6. The Real ID Act has taken effect and day one in GA saw lines of 7 hours in waiting, and the DMV was turning people away saying they will have to come back later. This is crazy. The state has only had 7 years to prepare for this and they have not. My link
  7. Clinics and private practices, yes. Not at most facilities.
  8. Most facilities no longer hire 2 year degree nurses. We require 4 years and prefer them to be working on their masters. I'm sure there may be some clinics or doctor offices that will hire a nurse with a 2 year degree but it is very rare for a facility to do so. We will hire associate degree nurses as techs but not for care.
  9. The numbers say differently. Educated people understand what anecdotal means. My link Quote DATA ON COLLEGE GRADUATES (Bachelor's degree and above) Source: Chart A-4, Employment status of the college-educated civilian population 25 years and over, Bureau of Labor Statistics • Unemployment rate 4.2% for college graduates over age 25(April, 2012) • Unemployment rate 4.8% for college graduates over age 25 (April, 2011) • Unemployment rate 5.1% for college graduates over age 25 (April, 2010) • Unemployment rate 4.6% for college graduates over age 25 (April, 2009) • Unemployme
  10. But government does have an obligation to protect the public at large for the good of society in total, e.g., cigarette warning labels and sin taxes. You're missing the whole point about the studies, since the studies also show the societal cost. It is that cost that must be weighed when making the determinations to allow gambling in a state or not. This is more than just lotteries but casinos. I'm not arguing against the lottery, just the ideology that government has no place in this. My link
  11. Bogus. Anecdotal evidence is just that. There are always exceptions. College degrees are by and large going to present a more qualified candidate. The degree is also about self fulflment, too. The degree makes the candidate more rounded and proves a critical thinking ability in many areas, not just one. The fact is that college education increases the chances of employment. We have several head hunters that direct applicants to us and it is in no uncertain terms to not send any candidate without a college degree and no tobacco users. We prefer experience in critical ar
  12. Exactly. The problem is that educated people recognize an anecdotal for what it is, and won't extrapolate more from it than what it is.
  13. a "4 year degree" equals a bachelors degree. It's not the time but the amount of coursework.
  14. I hate getting sand in my swim suit. And I don't like to sweat. If I'm going to sweat, I will do it while I'm running or otherwise working out.
  15. The article does say that companies want the CEO to have at least a college degree. I recognize that a "CEO" is relative to the size of the company but it is extremely rare to be a CEO of any large company and make that kind of money without a degree. Yes, there are exceptions but those are few.
  16. You're right. I should have said the top 5 require a college degree.
  17. BTW, the bar on this island is my favorite bar in the whole world. My link The sharks feed on the fish that is used to lure them in. These are not Great White sharks but sharks that rarely attack humans. Risk is everywhere but I've done this with my two little boys and it was fun.
  18. I think the term "college degree" refers to a 4 year degree. At least it does when I'm interviewing potential employees. A 2 year degree is compared to a certificate. Our system no longer hires 2 year degree employees and haven't for several years now. We will for tech positions, but not care positions.
  19. These parents have caused an uproar for letting their 5 year old swim with sharks. Honestly, I've done this and let my boys swim with the sharks before. I think this video may even have been shot at the same place. But what you the rest of you?
  20. I don't think anyone would be surprised to find that doctors and lawyers are on the list. All require college degrees. My link
  21. Legalized gambling does impact the poor and elderly more than the middle class or wealthy. Heath has a point there.
  22. We could have more public pools but that would require more taxes.
  23. She is a tool of the Tea Party and the local Americans for Prosperity. IMHO she is not smart enough to even understand the issues. I figured this out after talking to her last week. Her troubles are irrelevent since maybe good leaders have had legal and financial problems. I am voting for someone to make decisions, not do what they are told. I still need to talk to the guy in this race to decide.
