  1. Is it still progressing or not? The point the articles I gave were saying is that it is still growing, but it doesn't go at a constant rate. It grows faster, then slower, then faster, then slower. It is growing, compared to the negative growth we did have during the recession. Not that hard. That's why I pointed out the articles and said the gas prices were going to go down. You didn't understand what the articles were saying. I tried to explain it. You still didn't get it. So now you've been shown to not know what you're talking about.
  2. I think some of them are on here.
  3. You are driving down the road at 60mph but slow to 45mph. You are still going toward your destination but more slowly. The economy was growing at 3%. And now to has slowed to 2.50% growth. We are still growing after the biggest, baddest, deepest recession we've had since the Great Depression. We are growing. The growth has slowed but we are still growing. We are in much, much, MUCH better shape than where we were in 2008 when we were within days of complete collapse without the Bush bailouts. And we are in tremendously better shape than where we were when the Great Recession ended in th
  4. You won't find it in Paulding. Lower end: try Dogwood Terrace in Acworth. Middle of the Road: Babette's Cafe in Atlanta. Upper end: Hal's Steakhouse (the BEST steak in Atlanta, hands down). La Scalia in Rome is not bad for Italian.
  5. And I will remind you that I said the experts said the opposite. I said the US economy was improving and so is the world economy. IMPROVING. And I then re-stated what the article were saying and that was that the world demand was SLOWING. Let me type that slowly for you. SLOWING. The world economy is SLOWING but STILL IMPROVING. It is not that hard of a concept. When the word demand slows, the price of oil drops. Either you are incapable of reading comprehension, or just don't know what you're talking about.
  6. If the premiums were going up BEFORE the Affordable Health Care Act was passed, then how can those increases be blamed on the Affordable Health Care Act? If you say so. We'll talk about this in a few years, just like I reminded you about the gas prices were going down and you insisted I was "out of my mind." You really don't know what you're talking about.
  7. Because rates go up. Everyone had increases in their insurance costs in the last 10 years, even more the last 20 years. That is factual on its face. Things went up BEFORE the Affordable Health Care Act was passed. And everyone knows that Cobb tax collections are down and the county has said they had to make cuts in costs, while employees pay more. Be truthful.
  8. Any reasonable and educated person knows you can't just makeup a statement but you have to cite supporting evidence. Blue Cross and Blue Shield provides the insurance. Cobb pays most of the premium.
  9. You made the statement. The onus is on you.
  10. Let me say this slowly so you can get it. Health care costs have risen much, much faster than inflation. Your premiums have gone up because the county is not supplementing as much. Your premiums have increased because the insurance companies are charging more. None of that was due to Affordable Health Care Act. Those were things outside of the Act. Your premiums would have gone up due to budget constraints, normal health care costs and the insurance costs going up. I repeat: Those were happening sans the Affordable Health Care Act.
  11. And you can show that the situation you're describing above is the majority? You know their budgets, how? Generalizing to make your point is not making factual statements.
  12. Bull. Bull. Bull. Pre-existing conditions were not going to be covered anyway. Older people will still get the care an pain meds. There will still be quality care. Be honest.
  13. And those increases were going up anyway and had nothing to do with Affordable Health Care Act. It had to do with the county requiring you to pay more and the normal (albeit substantial) increase in health care costs. Be honest here.
  14. Your taxes won't be "going up" in any significant way unless you make over $250,000. If you do make more than that, then, yes, you will be paying more. Health care for kids is not free. It is still paid for by the parents, even if they are on assistance, since they pay assistance premiums. Of they are not on assisted insurance programs (like Peach Care), they still have to pay the doctor. It is not free. That is a myth that is not factual. No bill is read by any politician before it is voted on. That is the job of staffers, who read, analyze and summarize it for accurate and then for p
  15. That's my point. That's the reason we have laws to protect people from being fired when exercising their rights. It is also why the employers will lie and not do the right thing, because they don't want people who disagree to voice those ideas. My point is this: Who is the real American? The person that voices their opinion or the employer who finds another "reason" to fire the person because she voiced an idea the boss didn't like? We're in agreement here, not at odds. I also find it frightening that we let companies now get into the political arena. Employees will be more scared than
  16. It wouldn't have been a good idea for the kids to have gone on national TV because that would be a safety issue. There are some real crazies out there who think society would be better off without kids like this growing up. So I don't blame the father for going on TV himself, embarrassing his whole family by letting everyone know his son is a Dumb Ass.
  17. It will just point out your continued hypocrisy.
  18. Bookmarked. Next time you say something to the effect of "if you don't like it here, move," I will have a reference. I wouldn't have said it quite like that but I get the sentiment.
  19. Employers who do that are not supporting freedom but tyranny. That's not a liberal idea. Protecting people when they are exercising free speech is not liberal but the right thing.
  20. I never said the government had to force you to listen or protect you from what others think. I did NOT say that. I explicitiy said otherwise. Please do NOT put things in my post I did not say. Here is exactly what I said. In other words, government must protect people when making the speech, e.g., protecting protesters from harm while parading; protecting an employee from unfair actions based on the employee's ideas or speech. Those are laws on the books and the government has an obligation to protect all citizens when exercising their Constitutional rights.
  21. So your saying it was unconstitutional but they changed the definitions to make it constitutional. Ooooook. Fact is, it was ruled constitutional. Fact is, the AZ Law was also struck down, contrary to what you said. Gas prices are down, and you said I was out of my mind for saying the prices would drop. Looks like you really don't what know what you're talking about. Don't agree with all this but the sentiment, yes.
  22. You mentioned the consequences of free speech. I said government has an obligation to protect people when exercising their free speech rights.
  23. While we all like falling gas prices, it means the global economy is slowing down. I said this would happen back in April as the world demand for oil slowed. So let's be thankful for the gas prices coming down and look at least some bright lining. My link 1 My link 2 My link 3
  24. Government mustn't stymie one's free speech by turning a blind eye to the illegal or discriminatory actions resulting from the speech, e.g., an employee cannot be fired because of political speech or marching at a protest in off-clock hours.
  25. Predictions were bookmarked. My link 1 My link 2
