Apparently, not according to some. And I traveled much as a toddler and was educated in many places in my early years.

I look forward to your thesis that discounts the information below. After all, this is in American High School history textbooks. Not all that complicated. My link

My semi annual shipment of pinot noirs from Oregon will be arriving this week. CANNOT wait! The shipment of California cabs will be here next week. The world is good.

Both manufacturing and the Service index were up for February. So all those people who keep saying manufacturing is not working in America really don't know the numbers. The sale of autos and smaller trucks were up to the fastest number since 2007. Unemployment fell to 7.7%. So all the Doom and Gloomers say the "not in the labor force" number is up. Well, duh. It is USUALLY AT RECORD HIGHS due to an aging population. Sigh. The economy is slowly getting better and when there is a spattering of really good news, the Doom And Gloomers don't even recognize it for the glum looks

I'm sorry but again, you really should read up on your own history. Blackstone's Formulation is the basis of American law. My link You're citing the view of Pol Pot, the totalitarian butcher. But hey, it is your right to hold that view. Thank the gods your founding fathers didn't.
-
The basis of American law is to err on the side of liberty. Perhaps you should read a bit on Blackstone. The American legal system is not based on revenge but on protecting liberty first. Actually, it is the basis of your legal system.
-
Unless you're that one-in-a-million. Blackstone was very right to observe that it is better for ten guilty go free than for a single innocent lose liberty.

Kirk Bloodsworth was convicted in 1985 of murder and is the first person in the United States to have been exonerated while on death row using DNA. He was instrumental in Maryland's soon-to-be banning of the death penalty. His story is very interesting. My link - 5:13 Audio Link My link

Just for us Dinner Thread - More adventuresome fare

Tonight is the traditional full English. Sauteed mushrooms and tomatoes. Heinz baked beans. Several rashers of proper bacon. Eggs, runny, of course. Toast. Heaven. -
We've taken the Alaskan Cruise twice and it was quite beautiful. Holland America Cruise Lines was the first time, and Royal Caribbean the second trip. Both were in the suites and the service on both were exceptional. I would suggest the Disney Cruise Lines if you have children.

It is more fun to already have a glass of the wine in hand, too.

What sort of base for the sauce? Tomato or mustard?
-
Bratwurst? Those are scrumptious. I prefer the sausages of that sort with just mustard and onions. Occassionally I will add relish. And burn the sausages! Burn them, I say! Nearly black. The flavor is quit good. Save the larger sausages, because it is hard to get those extra well done like a normal sausage since the larger one will just burst. No bread. Just grilled.
-
Oh, that's funny! Come on, now. Hot dogs are just another form of sausages. And they can be soooo delicious!

We had a lovely dinner with a few close acquaintances this evening. My husband prepared a wonderful assortment of sausages and some good steaks we've been reserving for this occassion. I grilled some vegetables and it was quite enjoyable, especially the Robert Craig Howell Mountian Cabernet one the couples brought My link. Very nice! So my husband decided to bring out the Chateau du Pape to not be outdone My link. I must say, we had never tried the grilled vegetables with the Chateau du Pape and it was better than I was expecting. What are some techniques others have used for the grill

This is an example of a very biased site giving the information in such a way that manipulates people who don't understand what the information means. First, it says that the United States has an increase in the number of people "not in the labor force." Then it says that that number is the largest ever for that nation. Well, that is a nice way to manipulate readers since few understand the Baby Boomers constitute the largest number of retirees in the history of the nation, and the population of America is at an all time high. Since 10,000 people retire at full retirement age PER DAY

If you think my point was about the amendment, then, yes, you did miss the point. -

Then you missed the point entirely. -
World class clubs/cities have world class facilities. The municipality is to be congratulated on being forward thinking in using the economic engine it has as an asset.

Ga. calls for Federal Constitutional convention
zoocrew replied to CitizenCain's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Perhaps you should re-read my post. The leaders that founded the nation ran a deficit. There have been only a few years in the entire American history that the US did not have a deficit. The point is that such an amendment, though can be done, is not an intelligennt move since it prohibits deficit spending at all. The means to handle spending is via the legislative action, not amending the Constitution. Even your founders ran a deficit and never thought such a Constitutional mandate was necessary. -
The law doesn't stop criminals. They just carry even if the owner doesn't allow it. As long as no one knows, it is fine to break the law. This is really asinine legislation that province is offering.

Ga. calls for Federal Constitutional convention
zoocrew replied to CitizenCain's topic in RECENT TOPICS
This is grandstanding by the provincial legislature. It does nothing but manipulate the naive voters into thinking they are upset with the national leaders. Reality is that the American Constitution allows for a Constitutional Convention, but it cannot be for a single issue - it must be for an entirely new Constitution. Second, a balanced budget requirement prevents the government from emergency spending, even if only temporarily over the budget limit. Thirdly, if the people that created the Constitution in America thought a balanced budget was a good idea, it would have been in the d -
This is dangerous and asinine.
