Correct. I was using "fact" in the layman's sense as "theory" was being used as a mere educated guess. A scientific theory is what the layman would call "fact," meaning it is verifiable, proven and has demonstrated as accurate via prediction, using the assembled collection of facts. With global warning, there is little dispute to it's authenticity.

And global warning evidence is piling up that there is no question. Yet the idea of global warming is now indisputable.

Actually, all of that was proven to be gross mischaracterisation of the facts. There was no manipulation. Perhaps doing some academic searches instead of political blogs/op ed pieces would be more fruitful. That's not correct. A scientific theory is not a guess but a hard, proven, verifiable fact.
