  1. I'd love to know what's going to be done about "undocumented workers" aka illegal aliens, since approximately 20 million illegal visitors are not paying ANY taxes. Registering those workers into the IRS system would be a revenue-enhacer! I'd also like to know if the Congressmen would be in favor of raising taxes, even one percent, on people personally bringing in wages of over a million dollars a year? If neither of those are viable options for the Congressmen, then what do they plan to do to affect the ledger on BOTH SIDES?
  2. Mr. Gingrey just seemed to dismiss the gentleman who was (it seemed) advocating the liquidation of certain assets by the government as a way of generating revenue. Mr. Gingrey's response had to do with the fact that cash flow hadn't stopped, so (he seemed to be saying) revenue isn't the problem (of course I'm paraphrasing here) but that the spending needed to be cut in relation to the GDP. Did anyone grill him on the fact that the ledger has two sides to it - revenue AND expeditures?
  3. I'm glad that you were able to report this town hall meeting for those who weren't able to attend!
  4. Did anybody get a single take-away from Gingrey?
  5. Dumping the corpse - It would have to be done in really deep water so that no one could ever recover it. I mean - can you imagine how much Bin Laden's body would go for on EBAY????
  6. And just how paranoid has the American public become? Everything is not a conspiracy, you know. Or maybe you don't know. The birthers still owe the President an apology for accusing him of something that he had not done. Apologies are made by decent people, though, so I'm not holding my breath until the birthers deliver. But look at it this way - When the President DID produce a copy of the certificate, they wanted the original. When he produced the original, they questioned its authenticity. Conspiracy-types will always doubt the evidence. Regarding the Bin Laden situation -- the de
  7. I think that it can't be too healthful for an individual to spend a whole lot of time dwelling on the finer points of killing another person. Bin Laden was his target, and the shooter was an expert at hitting his target. I think that's all that I need to know. As far as Bin Laden, I say let anyone produce information to the contrary. I'll be happy to praise the military for their excellent work. Why denigrate the military by implying that the brave were part of a possible sham and a cover-up? It seems anti-American to do so.
  8. The decision has been made. I'm not sure if that point was made clear previously. If you want to see a picture of Bin Laden's head with a hole in it, it's really not that difficult to photoshop a bullet wound. You'll have to create your own closure. The decision has been made.
  9. The ACTION was covert, the burial at sea was covert -- I imagine that the lid has been shut on this photo thing. The wisest course of action is to follow the lead and let it go. It's not gonna happen. The decision has been made to not distribute the photos.
  10. Since they're not releasing the pictures, wouldn't that mean that ALL of the pictures claimed to be genuine are fake? The answer would seem to be - don't open up any supposed genuine pictures!
  11. That's what I think, too. I think that it's a wise decision. They are two completely separate things, each with its own set of dynamics.
  12. Don't take someone asking questions so personally, HR's. It's just discussion. Yes, when you come on a discussion board you will get comments from people who present a different position from your own. You needn't be threatened by alternative ideas, insights or viewpoints.
  13. I don't get the virgin thing. No skills and no experience? Why would anyone find that appealing?
  14. If I took it, it would be dinner tomorrow night! There's no way that I would ever disturb my neighbors. I'd find it embarrassing if a neighbor came to me with a noise complaint! So embarrassing that I'd take care of the issue one way or another. No way a chicken's life is worth disturbing a neighbor. A chicken.
  15. For the benefit of anyone who considers himself a follower of Bin Laden - I just wish that they had a photo of him hiding behind a woman as his final cowardly act.
  16. Extremely cool. For some reason, I had thought that doves were ground-nesters. I guess I hadn't put that much thought into them, because it never ocurred to me to wonder where the term, "turtle dove" came from!
  17. There's a balance to be had here, I think. There's the emotion that says that I'm glad that justice has been done. That's different from the rot in hell, bury him in pig blood vengeance comments that show a baseness untempered by humanity. What the US military did was proper and good and courageous. Rejoicing in their accomplishment is a different emotion from delighting in vengeance or fixating on violence as a remedy in general. The world is better off for the action taken by the military and it's THAT situation that I celebrate, the world being a better place. While I understand why peo
  18. So is it still bothering the neighbors, or not? It sounds like you're saying that he's still at it. Now everybody has his own definition of what a "good neighbor" is. I hope mentioning your "pretty rooster" on PCOM isn't the extent of your effort to be a "good neighbor", assuming that you still have him and he's still waking the neighbors every day at dawn. And he's been doing this for how long, now?
  19. It seems that the OP is having no better success. I would have thought that the description, " a really pretty rooster" would have moved the merchandise!
  20. It's a conspiracy, the subject of which is you. I'm sure that it was a sleeper-cell moderator that has you on his watchlist for merging topics. It's all designed to make you look like a fool, instead of recognizing you for your top-notch commentary on issues of the day.
  21. I thought that it was a bizarre statement by someone who said that the topics were merged for the purpose of making him look like a fool. I think that people get to believing that a conspiracy exists behind every news story to the point of constant paranoia.
  22. Any attempt to use this occasion to discredit the President takes away from where the attention should really be - that the military performed admirably. Allow the military, please, to bask in the glow of the admiration of the American People! It's been a long time coming and the naysayers should not be attempting to use this occasion to score political points. Why are you answering the responses directed at markdavd/other posters?
  23. Surely it is not still waking up the neighbors of the OP! Surely if the neighbors complained, she took care of it, one way or another, that day! Surely!!
  24. You don't require the moderators' assistance in that regard. Why do you wish to take away from the success of the military? The focus should be on them and not on your petty partisan politics. The timing of everything is public record. Why don't YOU wait for the facts before you start questioning the Commander-in-Chief? Like I said -- you don't need the help of the mods. Chainsaw - Got that link yet?
