If anyone has an easy chicken pot pie receipe I'd love to have it. I'd like one with the pie crust not the bisquick.
-
It's really easy. The friend a stole the receipe from frys hers first to brown it. But since it's a make it while I'm at work for me I just put the meat in the crock with the gravy and leave it on low all day. (I use the McCormick mushroom gravy packs) The meat just falls apart which is how my family likes it A container of the Country crock mashed potatoes and it's a quickie dinner.

McGarity teacher passed away this weekend

My son was very sad when we told him yesterday. I thought the school did a good thing by calling the parents so we could talk with the kids before they find out at school. I knew Sunday also, but didn't post anything out of respect for the family. You never know you hasn't been notified. Plus all the speculation that usually follows--just didn't want that to hurt her family. -
What time do you close on Friday?

Victims opinions are taken into account during sentencing. The man broke the law. End stop. I'm really not trying to be snarky but the mental state of victims esp in sexual crimes is very fragile. Do you really want a 13 y/o child deciding if their attacker should be punished?? A lot of us have seen what happened when victims of domestic violence had the option to Press charges against their abusers--a lot of dead women. It's just not the way our justice system works. I know there is a lot out there about the judge and how there "may" have been some issues but come on, h

The case in question is the State of Cal vs Roman Polanski not the the victim vs Polanski Allowing victims of domestic violence etc to decide if they want to procesute doesn't sound like a great idea to me. From everything I've read the victim in this case would rather the case just go away so the horrific details of her ordeal won't be drug thru the media again. Of course if RP had served his time 30 years ago this wouldn't be an issue and it would have been put to rest decades ago.

I find it very disturbing that these actors and directors feel this guy should be let off because they think he's so talented. Boo Freaking Hoo he missed his party. His victim has had to deal with her trauma for 30 years. If he was a plumber that skipped it would be a whole different story. What's really kills me is Whoopi opening her mouth to defend this piece of trashs actions. As a woman she should be ashamed of herself. And usually she's the 1st to be the mega feminist.

RIP I saw him during my pregnancy with my daughter. (18 years ago)

Loved the season opener of House. The room mate singing "Brick House" was snort worthy funny.

New Flash Flood Watch Issued For Metro Atlanta; More Rain Coming
soccermom replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I guess that might work....And depending on who's dancing maybe raise some money from the spectators for the flood victims. -
Sounds like it's worth running my men off so I can watch it in peace. Thursday is a tough tv night--Bones and Fringe usually win since my husband and son really like those--I do too and since we can all watch together and not in separate rooms that's what we ususally do. Plus David Boreanez is Hot!

I didn't watch last night, have it on TIVO. Grey's Anatomy.... So how was it? They lost me for the most part last season. I'm hoping this season is better.

Man, I can't imagine toting that much baby around for months.

ROADWAY CLOSURES/QUESTIONS: THURSDAY 9/24/09
soccermom replied to Goober Pyle's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Looks like Midway off of Dallas hwy is still closed. They had barricades in front of the bridge yesterday, so I avoided it this morning. But didn't see anyone coming from Midway to Due West. A co-worker said she saw a bunch of cars having to turn around this morning. That bridge was just replaced and opened in August---I hope it's still under warranty -
I do like the Skin So Soft--actual repellant. They have a lotion that is bug and sunscreen. I love that stuff. When they do the half off sale I stock up.
-
FYI, Midway Rd (between Dallas hwy and Due West was closed this afternoon at 4: 45. This is new!! It has been open all week so if you've been using be aware it may be blocked in the am. Guess maybe they are checking that new bridge that was just finished in August

Local News Reporting schools will be out again.
soccermom replied to thewebsterfamily's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Well, One bright point in this whole mess--with the schools being out it's bound to put a stop to the H1N1 transmission. Any sick kids will hopefully have time to get well and not be bringing any oogie-boogies to school. -
If you're trying to get to Marietta or Kennesaw on Dallas Hwy, get to Due West. It was empty this morning when I came in around 7:20 and still empty around 7:45 when I sent my mom that way.
-
It looked the same this evening as it does in the picture. The drive way looks like it's holding from the road. Thank Goodness.
