  1. Yes, shelling has stopped, hammering is back. It only bothers you, let's not scare the customers away Besides, Saturday they should take the day off so everybody needs to stop in!
  2. Yes, I agree. Love finding new music I wouldn't have ever found before too! It's like a lot of the authors that are new to us, just because I never heard of them, doesn't mean the book isn't good. We need to give all NEW things a chance. News, music, author chats and lots more can be found on NPR. Everyone, if you haven't tried it, you should.
  3. We are in downtown Powder Springs. 2-3 turns from any main road. A few blocks from where Brownsville Road deadends, if that helps. From 278 in Hiram and 92 (the big shopping area, just head away from Hiram toward Marietta and turn right at Powder Springs-Dallas Hwy. Go just past the the 1st light and we are on the right side of the road where the 2nd light is.
  4. If you don't know your carrier's name, write "For Regular carrier" on the outside and it will go to the right person. Hubby is a relief carrier (works different route daily for 5 different carriers on their day off), so he passes all cards and gifts over and always hopes for a little "something" from the person he works for each day from what they get. Most are very generous and the lousy ones most likely didn't get much to share.
  5. And today is just abouth the truth. That is what non fiction books are full of. The truth, albeit someone's opinion of the truth sometimes, is the definition of non-fiction books. Non-fiction section would include history, social issues, gardening, pets, science, cookbooks, health and wellness, new age, true crime, biographies, religion, music and entertainment, crafts and do it yourself books, just to name a few. We have tons of NON-fiction books in the store and today will be a first time we have had a sale on half the store. Run in now to buy the gift for the man who has everything but alw
  6. Hubby is a letter carrier but not in this area. In Florida, over 15 years ago, we used to count on tips for our Christmas money and really counted on it as it was $800-$1000, sometimes more. When we moved here, it dropped to about $50, what a shock. He is an excellent mailman and gives "far and beyond" good service but we both know that a lot of carriers here are different and don't care about their job as much. That being said, there are some great letter carriers out there and if they give you good service and/or go above and beyond for you, please find it in your heart to gift a gift car
  7. Maybe they will finish fixing it on Sunday when we are not there. Rhonda, you haven't endured the boom, boom, boom yet so you can't comment. Just take some aspirin before you come in on Monday. It is not bad for shoppers, just the help.
  8. I guess we will find out. Hope you take the risk on your "cycle"
  9. Yup, that would be nice! A whole chicken swimming in a bath of water, surrounded by onions, carrots, celery, garlic, a little salt, pepper and bay leaves and an excellent smell will fill the air all day long until you can add a few fresh green beans and noodles later and yummy, you have a bowl of my gramma's soup just waiting for you. Now that you have a warm fuzzy feeling and a good smell in your head, come in and search our cookbook section for a new recipe to fill the air in your house. 20% off our already low, low prices! 10. I figure there should be something for everyone!
  11. Since my subject did not intrigue y'all before, now maybe you will find out about some awesome authors coming on Saturday. Added benefit of being here is meeting Michegirl with her Miche bags! We hope you will join us. Join us at The Book Worm for An Appalachian Christmas! Local author J.Bryant Ray signs his novella "Pot O' Gold"; the story of Willie Smith, a hard working, church going, military veteran just trying to make a living. But through his interactions with various men and women in the county he's led down ... (more)a nefarious path that leads to struggles with local sheriffs,

  13. I look great in orange! It brightens my day when I wear it anything in orange, cinnamon, apricot or peach. Neon might be a bit much.
  14. Yes, you do Saturday is a good day to see some P.commers like Michegirl and me. Never know who else you might run into here. I hope a lot of familiar faces cause we need to have a Black Friday sort of a day for our authors. The Moonshine DVD, The Last One, is so good, really, I promise it is! A great gift for someone on your list that likes history and drinking!

  16. Oh my! I forgot to let everyone know who else would be there! Come meet Michegirl and see her wares We both want to see some new faces so come on in!
  17. Browsing local bookstores is fun! Any small town area is a great place to wander and frequent the local area. Maybe hit "The General" in Kennesaw and Kennewas Mountain Park http://www.nps.gov/kemo/index.htm or go to the 50 fun things to do in Atlanta link and look for Free stuff and discount tickets for things at http://www.atlanta.net/50fun/
  18. All things considered and Marketplace are some of my favorites, along with Wait wait don't tell me and Prairie Home Companion. I like to learn about what is up in the world without too much ranting and criticism (not saying there isn't any but) and new music, myself. I live too sheltered a life otherwise.
  19. We just got in some awesome music from NPR and will be getting new cds each month from them from their discover music series! I am an NPR junkie so this is very cool for me. The Book Worm Bookstore is delighted to be part of NPR.ORG's new Discover Songs program. We will be stocking 6 different/new titles every 6 weeks; many of them folk, world or acoustic in style. This first batch includes Elton John and Leon Russell, Annie Lenox, Brian Eno, Paul McCartney & Wings, Tired Pony and Elizabeth Mitchell... all waiting for you to stop in;o) New music to play in the store now and ne
