  1. ok... I don't mean to sound like everyone else... but I didn't want anything either. But hubby mentioned the other day that he wanted to get me something... well our little one needed a new bike (he's been crying for one for a while) so I asked that he use that money and get him a bike. We got his bike and he was riding out in the yard last night with a face that was lit up like a Christmas tree and that was my present!!!  I will hold that memory in my heart forever!!! ;)

Yes the happiness that comes from our children is better than any gift we could receive from another person. I feel that way Christmas morning too :)

  2. Because it seems that some people might say "well I am depressed, I cant do anything right, blah, blah" so they dont have to face reality. What is reality... its taking the kids to school, cleaning the house, going to work, paying the bills, thinking about retirement, college, etc. It just seems like some people use excuses to get out of normal life that the rest of us face with a smile (whether we like it or not).

    OOOHHHHHHHHH ok, I gotcha!!!!

  3. I see what you mean... So like diabetes, are we saying there is no way to "cure" this... And these are questions...thoughts... In my mind, I would think that you can cure it by letting a professional talk about it with you... and also in my mind, I believe some of these people use it as an excuse to escape reality. (I will get blasted for that one... ) But thats just me...

Why would someone use being sad and depressed as an excuse to escape reality?? Isn't that like them making themselves miserable to get out of something?? Makes no sense to me.

  4. We bought this 32" screen PIP Sony TV at a flea market 9 years ago (it was 4 years old at the time). Well just tonight it shut off in the middle of a show and now won't turn on anymore. Should I try and get it fixed or just toss it? And/or does anyone know what might be wrong with it???

  5. We have Monitronics/Crime Free which was $39.95 and I signed with them again at $29.95. They are very good (except customer service). Two weeks ago I came home from spending time with family a few days and I hit the code to get in and forgot to hit OFF and the alarm went off, they called within 10 seconds of that alarm going on.......made me feel very secure knowing they call so fast. Of course they wanted my password too when they called to make sure it was me and not an intruder in my house.

  6. I had an idiot riding his four wheeler at 3am last weekend and I have a state cop who lives across the street........he was home cause the police car was there..........some people are very brave. :angry2:

  7. Kat03, I'm assuming you are a young person (ie, a teen).  To be blunt, you couldn't be more WRONG.  And your attitude is what continues to get people hurt and killed in auto accidents.

RACING on the public roadways is against the law.  Period.  If indeed Justin and Allyson were racing, they were *breaking the law*.  They deserve whatever punishments await them.

Would you feel differently if the two young men killed were total strangers to Justin and Allyson?  What if they had been your brothers?  Your mom and dad?  Someone dear to YOU?

By a freak, the parties involved knew each other.  That fact does not in any way excuse their behavior.  (And BTW, these are early days yet --- some of these parents may indeed choose to sue another set for wrongful death.  In this litigious age, that wouldn't surprise me at all.)

You continue to believe what you want, if you like.  But I'll tell you right now: God help you or anyone else if you ever maim or kill someone *I* care for because of your lawlessness, because I will move heaven and earth to make sure that the punishment fits the crime.  :angry2:

    PERFECTLY said!!!!!!!!! ;)

  8. My hubby isn't into bought gifts so one year I saved one of our kids formula cans and I covered it with red construction paper and glued cute sayings that I cut out of magazines all over it.  I filled it with chocolate kisses and cut out hearst from tissue paper and kissed each one.  Then there was a poem on top about how each heart represented a thought of love . . .anyway is was really silly but he loved it. . .Now the container houses all of his extra box cutter blades he brings home from work. . . What does that say about our love???

That is an excellent idea, I wish I was creative ^_^

  9. I wish I still had Kaiser as an option :( - since moving the only option I have is BCBS :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I loved Kaiser - they are expanding more and Wellstar is starting to take a lot of Kaiser now, I only had to go 2 miles down the road to the doctor instead of Cumberland or Town Park.

  10. For the record... Ellery is out delivering a check to the family who lost their son and also lost their truck.

The lunch at Pizza Hut was pleasant.  Many questions were asked and answered.

Pubby, I think you should change your screen name to Dr. Spin.

I have a question.  How much were you paying Ellery to work for you?  And how much of that salary do you still owe him?

(((Please know there is much more to this than just the Christmas "GIFT"--The start of 278 had nothing to do with the Christmas "GIFT".)))

Shawna, I thought this family had until Friday before they were going to lose their truck.

    Edited to add: nevermind, I can't read. :) :) :)
