I agree, if he doesn't want to keep them that is fine.  I know that many people are more willing to adopt an animal that is already fixed.  Maybe there is someone reading this thread thinking "Oh only if it was already fixed" but that person doesn't want to speak up because they would feel like they could be ridiculed for making that statement.

 

I know that there are also some people on this board who do not want to publicly want to ask for help.  I am putting that offer out there for those people as well.  The shelter had to euthanize 165 animals in September who were "unwanted" animals.  I am just trying to help this one.

 

I could have just not said anything and let this animal go to the shelter.  Maybe that is what I should have done, but then I would not have felt like I helped in some way.  Heck if it came down to it I will even buy Froggy food until he can find a home for the cat.  Being a dedicated volunteer at the shelter and with PHS I feel that it is my obligation to help in any way that I can.

Thank you for clarifying, my impression was that you were trying to get him to keep them too once they were fixed. My feelings are just that if he doesn't want them he doesn't want them, it wasn't like he went out and bought them and then changed his mind, they were dropped off. I appreciate all that you do at the shelter but don't like to feel like you are trying to make someone feel guilty for not keeping an animal he didn't want to begin with.

Honestly I don't want to get into an argument about any of this.  It just hurts my heart that people automatically say that they are going to be put to death.

 

I understand that you go anyone else should not be financially responsible for the idiot who dumped these animals.  I would rather them go to the shelter or another home, but I would also like them to be fixed.  If Froggy is willing to have them fixed, with my money or the money of PHS, and then released, the offer is being made.  That way another animal does not have to be euthanized for no reason but then also she will not continue to reproduce either.

 

Believe me I am at the shelter every weekend and I hate the fact that many of the faces that I see will be put to sleep because no one wants them.  Unfortunately there are not enough homes out there for all the unwanted animals.  If there were more people out there like you, Froggy and every other person who has their animals fixed we wouldn't have this problem.

 

Again the offer stands Froggy, if you can trap her please give us a call and we will take care of her spay.  Like I said if anyone would like to help out in and sponsor even a portion of her spay that would help PHS out, if not that is fine as well, I will take care of it.  We are here to make sure that these animals don't reproduce so we don't have more to euthanize every week.

What do you want Froggy to do with them once they are fixed? He said he doesn't want anymore animals and can't afford anymore.............maybe he means feeding them too. Just because people drop animals off at his house and you are willing to fix them for free doesn't mean he HAS to still keep them if he doesn't want to.

My file drawer is a mess and I wanted to clean it out and was wondering what you guys do with paid utility statements. I have my bank statements showing I paid them so do I really need to keep them? Maybe just one month or six???????????
