We have always had bird feeders and almost exclusively use the black sunflower seeds, but we do have some finch feeders with thistle in them. BabeCake most birds don't eat those fillers, they will all drop what they don't want. You're better off following LL's advice and using those she has recommended. You're paying for something that does no good. They emptied the 4 huge feeders in about 3 days, well since it snowed. Gotta refill today.

The funniest thing in this whole thread is that someone doesn't think government involvement is political..........last I remember, government is all politics. If the government is involved it is political. If I posted information like this in the Cafe, it would get whisked to the PF faster than a speeding bullet. Getting a little worried about Goldmine again. When we came home about 4:30, it was melting pretty good. But the way the road is designed, it doesn't run off the sides like it's supposed to, it runs across to the other side. It is not a safe road on a dry day let alone ice, snow and wet. It's old 278, you would think they would do something to improve it, they do nothing..........a lot of accidents on that road, some with serious injuries.

So I learned something new. Guess when you're not geared toward that type of activity it doesn't cross your mind. Anyhow, I agree, if you suspect you're probably right.........you have two choices, live with it or live with out them. All this sneaking, prying and mistrust can't be good for anyone.

I'm not even going to try. After our ordeal on Buchanan Hwy a couple of weeks ago, I'm not chancing anything. That was the scariest feeling I've had in a long time. I'm staying put.
