Shoot motor oil won't hurt it, you can use vinegar and boil the heck out of it. The vinegar will cut the oil and open the pores,. Scrub it good with Brillo. Boil it for at least 1 hour, scour it with Brillo again and do the vinegar thing again, rinse well. After you have done that, you will need to re-season it. I only use solid Crisco to season mine. When it is cool, coat it inside and out with a thick layer of Crisco, put it in the oven at 400 degrees - upside down for one hour.
