  1. "Who's that tramping over my bridge?" roared the troll. "It's I! The big Billy Goat Gruff ," said the billy goat, who had an ugly hoarse voice of his own. "Now I 'm coming to gobble you up," roared the troll. Well, come along! I've got two spears, And I'll poke your eyeballs out at your ears; I've got besides two curling-stones, And I'll crush you to bits, body and bones.
  2. No, markdavd, I was simply not through. You were just too quick on the trigger, my friend.
  3. "If you can't be the pine at the top of the hill, Be a shrub in the valley below. The best little scrub in the valley below, Be a bush if you can't be a tree. If you can't be a bush be a bit of the grass, And some highway happier make If you can't be a muskie, then just be a bass, But be the liveiest bass in the Lake! We can't all be captains, we've got to be crew, There's something for all of us here. There's big work to do and lesser to do, And the task we must do is the near. If you can't be a highway then just be a trail, If you can't be the sun, be a star. It isn't by size t
  4. The same "anti-government" people would be flocking to any kind of administration that was available to them. Living together in groups and setting up a cheap enough habitat for the basic survival of those in the group, would definitely require an armed force, and good walls to block onslaught. Guns, explosives, and any kind of weaponry would be the most important aspect of the survival of the fittest. Living together can certainly cut expenses, and provide a certain amount of safety, but it will be knowledge of survival that will succeed over money. A shining example of the idea of money
  5. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. I think I could have done better than that, but I DON'T KNOW!
  6. It certainly wouldn't be easy, but yes, I could survive. I have a big family, and we would merge. Paw-Paw would show them what to do. That's me. My wife, and I, have enough to survive on until I figure something out. I have several guns, and a four wheel drive. I know where the deer and other animals are. I used to be a fur trapper, and a fisherman. It wouldn't take me long to get back at it. I can catch things alive, and feed them until I get ready to eat them. I think I still have a few of my old double spring steel traps. And, I have not forgotten how to build a rabbit box trap. I
  7. I only have a few that I took, myself, GG! And, my camera got switched to manual focus, while I was thinking it was on auto focus; so I messed a lot of them up. But yes, I may be able to dig up a few good ones. The car was a pretty one, but I messes most of them up, as well. It was a beautiful 1954 Red Impala Chevy convertible.
  8. I'm sorry GGR! It's been about two years sense it happened here, but only about six months sense someone took about $3,000 worth a 40 Ft. I-beams off my rental property. Of course, my tenants didn't have any Idea who it was, nor when it happened. This took a mighty big truck, or a lot of trips with a cutting torch to gut up about 5 40ft, 12" I-beams. I glad you are okay, but the violation is horrible enough.
  9. Just wanted to try it out, L64! I was sweating profusely when I first completed the installation about a month ago. It was 40 degrees when I started it up this morning, but you are right. I am like you, I like cooler weather. I just don't like hot weather as much as I do cold weather. I can always add clothing, but I can never take enough off, in the summer time, and if I could I would need a sheeze load of sun block lotion. Hoo-raaay for the Fall.
  10. Those are inspiring words MC! Just being who you are is enough for me. You may not be a champion, who walks out into the light of cameras snapping, or reporters standing at the ready when you are being who you are. But, I can see your greatness.
  11. I am celebrating its completion, today, sg! It was heavy work for just one guy. I had to get a strong arm to help me move it into place. But the things I do does not require help very often. I believe it makes me appreciate things better, when I can pat myself on the back knowing I did it all myself, expect for what I just couldn't do alone. I am saying my favorite prayer, today: "I do not ask to walk smooth paths nor bear an easy load. I pray for strength and fortitude to climb the rock strewn road. Give me such courage and I can scale the hardest peaks alone, And transform
  12. P m t, The glass door is almost no deterrent to viewing the full capacity of the fire. If you enjoy a fire you can get that view with very little of the heat energy going up the chimney. A common fireplace cannot tough the performance of this Buck Stove fireplace insert. I wish you had one.
  13. I looked up more detail about the Buck Model-91, which I am now allowing to kick butt in my home. The Buck Model-91 is the companies most popular selling wood stove. Unmatched in appearance and performance, it is the ultimate in wood stoves. Available as a masonry fireplace insert or as a freestanding unity Heating Capacity up to 3200 square feet. Features include a factory installed blower, high efficiency heat exchanger, ash removal tray and oversized glass door with air wash system. I can tell you, right now, this Stove is great. I am enjoying the heck out of it.
  14. I was lucky enough to be able to do only a small amount of modification, but the hardest thing was to satisfy the fire department. They are very particular on the modifications you are able to do. My Buck is new to me, but I did an electrical job in Alabama, where part of the deal was the Buck Stove they were taking out to replace it with Central air conditioning. I already have Central air-conditioning, but I am trying to keep it turned off as much as possible. It took a lot of figuring, on my part, to get it right, but I finally saved thousands of dollars on the stove and its install
  15. I used natural gas, last winter, and paid all summer to keep it turned on. But look out, Mr. Natural Gas, you are out of here when I am certain my new Buck is going to work for heating my house this winter. PS I can't get the link, about my Model-91 Catalytic Buck Stove, to work. But, if you will just Google the address below I think it will work. This unit is supposed to be able to heat a good size home. This site shows the details.
  16. This is my first fire, and I still have to learn all the adjustments, but so far my new Buck is working fine.
  17. He had a big cry, when I cut his tail off. I have had to cut off a lot of tails, and I declaw their dewclaws. That is a terrible job, but I do it, and have never lost a patient out of hundreds. I used to have a business, but my Yorkies are just a hobby, now! I am trying to keep my family supplied with beautiful a Yourie puppy that my experience can muster up for them. I have a large family, so that keeps Paw-Paw pretty busy.
  18. Thanks Ivy! Here's another picture of Grandpa. You can see his outfit better. Here is another picture of the father. The one in the red cup, above. This picture was taken in the spring of this year. The father's name is Monkey. He is more metallic blue on his back, now, kind of like his sleepy friend in the picture. His friend is a little older, his name is Q-Ball.
  19. I have a passion about Yorkies, in a way that helps me know that a dog is a man's best friend. My Yorkies only have stubs for tails, but they can use their stub much better than some people can use a tail the size of a Giraffe's neck. I can't do as well as my Yorkies do, so they help me with people. People talk to me more when I have one of my Yorkies with me. My passion cause me to get excited about my Yorkies. I get energized when they try to wag their stubby tails. We p[lat together, and I enjoy it just as much as they do.
  20. Here is one of the boys born last week, and is just now opening his eyes. Here is his Father when he was a boy. Here is his Grandfather who lives in New York, now.
  21. I have gone with a Linksky router for my phone service, and a TRENDnet router, and a Roku, for my TV service. I kept Comcast for my internet, and the very basic TV local programming service. My service is much better than it was under a bundle plan, with Comcast. They went up on me to about $170.00 per month. But with Roku, and my $8.00 per month fee for Netflix, I stream everything I want to watch on TV, and my local channels cost me about $20.00. Now, I pay $50.00 for Comcast internet service. $8.00 + $20.00 + $50.00 = $78.00 per month. This service would have cost well over $200.00
  22. I have been studying the aspect of fear, on a small scale. But, how people handles fear is more interesting than what causes it. Here is the short excerpt that interested me, this morning. LADY MACBETH We, fail? If you get your courage up, we can’t fail. When Duncan is asleep—the day’s hard journey has definitely made him tired—I’ll get his two servants so drunk that their memory will go up in smoke through the chimneys of their brains. When they lie asleep like pigs, so drunk they’ll be dead to the world, what won’t you and I be able to do to the unguarded Duncan? And what
  23. I am loving it. It is comfortable in many ways. 1. I can cuddle in my long sleeve clothing, which is very comforting. 2. I can feel relief from from the air conditioning unit hogging electricity. 3. I am closer to the time I can start burning my stock pile of wood, in my new Buck Stove Insert.
  24. Dale Russel may know a little about the 'who you know" aspect. Lieutenant Dale Long Of the Hall county Sheriff's Department was fired for blowing the whistle on a fellow Officer. Dale Russel Reporting on FOX FIVE Sept 22, 2011 http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/subindex/news/iteamwww.myfoxatla...ndex/news/iteam FOX 5 I-Team | myfoxatlanta.com You may have to google this (www.myfoxatlanta.com/subindex/news/iteam), because I can no longer get the news about this Hall County situation.
