  1. It seems to be better UNLESS you are a private party seller, which didn't have sales tax before or if you are bringing a car in from out of state. Otherwise you get to buy a car for the sales tax you would have paid and get the benefit of no big yearly tag bill. You will still have a small fee each year, just no advalorem.
  2. A gun like device, yes... A pop tart, not so much.
  3. Ok, put myself in the position. Still stupid....
  4. Oh my lawd, drama queen.... And by your same definition ZC should be ashamed for being one of the biggest bullies here... Anyway... We did the problem together and while he has no clue what he did but he is happy...
  5. Have you spoken to Consumer Credit Counseling. People have good and bad things to say about them but a relative had some serious credit card debt and they helped get it managable and paid off in three or four years. Banks are extremely cautious right now so if you have tried and failed at consolidation, you may need to try a route like this.... Good luck!
  6. Yeah, not this one, it was copied from a worksheet book. The other problem was hand written on the board, I thought the boy child made a mistake and wrote it down wrong so I emailed the teacher stating that he did try very hard to resolve but just couldn't. She replied back that she apologized for giving the wrong numbers.
  7. We can thank Bush for Obamacare? Wow, it truly is ALL his fault! And actually my position is and always will be that you can thank Clinton for his home ownership American dream for the state we are in...
  8. They gave the wrong numbers on accident. I tried to explain to the boy it was just a simple mistake and he accepted it but he got to a high level of frustration and beating himself up over not being able to do it. The teachers aren't perfect, it was a self admitted mistake. He has struggled a lot with his self esteem education wise but we push on and got him into venture, so I think it shows we don't just give up on everything but I think the pushing should be within limits to a few grades at the most. If they can do fourth grader work in second grade I think that is a huge accomplishmen
  9. Yeah, yeah, we know... We are all dumb as dirt, you are the superior being... Blah, Blah, Blah....
  10. Tina Drummond on Dallas Hwy, you will NOT be disappointed. She knows her stuff, unlike a lot of these people at HR Block, etc. I believe her website is www.anddrum.com .
  11. We got ours back in about seven days, no education credit on ours.
  12. Yes, he is a Venture student, but this was not work for that class. It was his regular class homework. As I said before, I don't have any issue with them challenging and we work two to three hours a night on Venture and his regular classwork BUT I personally think that (like the others) they are putting the cart way before the horse here.... In my opinion elementary school is setting the foundation and a lot of that foundation work is being breezed by and then when things like this are handed to them it creates a less than favorable attitude self esteem wise for the kids. If you want to ch
  13. Kids are getting dumber because kids 10 years ago knew how to find the answer? For real? I am all about challenging but no matter how you slice it, it is not even remotely age appropriate. I am going to email the teacher to see if it was intentionally there and covered in class. I am willing to bet it has never been discussed.
  14. Pluto has an estimated diameter of 1420 miles, approximately 1/5 the diameter of Earth. Using the estimated diameter of Pluto, what is the circumference of the Earth? Round your answer to the nearest hundredth. Um, 2nd grade?
  15. They can't ask about religion, its discriminatory... I don't think any of them care honestly, they do have bible verses and stories sometimes but it's not like they were trying to convert anyone. We didn't go to church at all and they made no attempts to recruit us. Sorry GB for MrsB keeping us off topic!
  16. We did something similar but it didn't seem to work because it wasn't regular. So we signed them up at Lost Mountain Preschool starting at 2 and after the first few rough weeks, it was amazing how much they changed. It really wasn't terribly expensive, I believe it was around $100 a month for two days a week and I think it went up to $140 for four days a week (which they added days each year of age). We were paying around $50 a month for the activity classes so $100 was well worth it to have a regular teacher and friends. Hopefully the class will be enough for you but if you find you need
  17. That is beyond normal, our kids didn't go to daycare and were not fond of other people or people trying to pick them up. They are perfectly normal kids. Well maybe not perfectly normal! Our boy did progress slower than our girl, but she is an overachiever which really pisses the oldest and youngest off sometimes. Sounds like you just have a little bit of a stubborn one, which I am sure is the Mom's fault right...
  18. Me too if we could this global warming crap to really take effect... buncha liars...
