Being on the road locally every day I see some of the same ones in different areas. There are two older men that carry a bag or back pack that look truly homeless, filthy clothes, bushy hair, etc. One was at Steak & Shake and the other one was across the street on E/W Connector near Cobb Hospital. I actually saw one of them again a different day getting off the bus and setting up his "need food" sign. This was on S. Cobb Dr. This guy gratefully accepted a burger, fries and coke and didn't ask for money so I felt ok with that but he is getting money also, if he is able to ride the bu

That sounds good, I get really tired of ham and turkey by Thanksgiving night. I had thought about squash but New Years day is Collard Greens, Fried green tomatoes and fried squash. Start the year off with grease. lol... Sounds good.

With Thanksgiving and Christmas so close together I really hate having the same side dishes and want something different. Any ideas on what is good with Honey Baked ham ? There are only 4 of us for Christmas dinner but the standard green beans, sweet potato casserole, corn, deviled eggs, etc. is really old and boring. I need something different to add because my husband likes the traditional meal and I need at least one vegetable to make it different for me.

I have been approached by two different older women lately, one at Buddy's wanting something to eat because her "check was late". I had $5.00 cash on me and gave it to her, she went right in Buddy's in front of me and bought cigarettes. She then begged the lady at Buddy's for left over breakfast. I left so I don't know what happened but she made her choice, smoking over eating. Another day a lady gave me the needs gas story at the gas station / store at 61 & Nebo. Since she was already pumping gas and was already at $30 + dollars I told her I didn't have it to give her. I'm sure the

Santa better watch Stradial this year, he might try to push him off the roof to get his job. Or just hold him hostage to get his naughty list.

I really love Bob Segers "Little Drummer Boy" and I like Shane & Shane's version of "O Holy Night".

I do not eat Oreo cookies, too greasy, but these are delicious ! 2 sticks of unsalted butter - room temp 6 oz Cream Cheese - room temp 2 c Sugar 2 Tblsp vanilla 2 c All purpose flour 1 c mini chocolate chips 2 c Oreo cookie crumbs Preheat oven to 375 degrees Take about 10 Oreos and crumble, you will need 2 cups of the crumbles. This is easier if you put them in a baggie and break down so they are crumbs. Set aside. Cream together butter and cream cheese, add in sugar & vanilla Add flour, 1 cup at a time on low speed until well mixed Stir in chocolate chips Remov

Not sure what happened but I ran a scan, it said all was ok then I restarted my computer and now all my buttons work again. Sorry Mods - You can delete this post if you want to.

If anyone needs the "delete" button it's me. Last night I was on the computer, made a typing error but hitting the delete button did nothing. I was able to right click, open the box and click delete there but what the heck ? I just noticed I can't backspace either, it puts a forward slash on the line. What has possessed this computer ?

He often makes me laugh with his posts but I would nominate this one as the best comment of 2013. Just too funny.

I made a bunch yesterday and had a terrible time with the Hershey's milk chocolate. It just wouldn't work with the wax, it turned into a pudding like texture. I gave up and went back to Nestle Toll House semi sweet chips and it worked perfectly. I remembered, after the fact, that I had issues with Hersheys last year. I don't know why it does that but I'll stick with Nestles now.

Very easy and addictive. This sounds long but I added info., the recipe and process are easy. Peanut Butter Balls 1 stick margarine (room temp not melted) 1 box Powdered Sugar (approx. 3 3/4 cups) 18oz jar of peanut butter (Most jars now are 16 or 16.5 oz this works fine) 6 oz milk choc. or semi sweet chocolate chips - (I always melt the whole bag since they are 10 - 11 oz just to make sure I have enough) Paraffin wax - (I'll explain the wax below) ---------------------------------------------- Mix the margarine, powdered sugar and peanut butter - rol

I sent out 10 on Friday and have to buy some more stamps tomorrow to send out the rest, I think I have 5 more to mail. I do give them to the neighbors on our street, I don't know some of their names / kids names etc. so I just write Merry Christmas on the front of the envelope. We do get some back in our mailbox from them also. By mail we have received 4 so far. I will send out cards as long as they keep printing them because it is more personal and a tradition I hate to see go away.

Thanks everyone. I have to make fudge the night before also and I would have been up very late trying to do both.

It's about that time to send treats to work for my husbands Christmas luncheon. They love peanut butter balls and fudge. The pb balls take so much time to mix, roll and dip in chocolate that I wondered if anyone else has made them a little early and kept them in the freezer. I have looked it up, some say yes, some say it makes them soggy. I'm asking you guys because I hope someone has done it before and I don't take a chance on them being ruined. His luncheon is the 19th (next Thursday) so they wouldn't be in there too long if I make them tomorrow. Thank you for any info. from
