  1. I have always believed most of what you said in your post That is why I have maintained from day one two things 1 lets have town hall type meetings in each Commissioners district and allow unlimited time to discuss the pro's and con's of this issue. Lets then have a referendum on the issue during the May primaries. If you are correct in your assumptions then the citizens will side with you. If you are incorrect in your assumptions then the citizens will side with the stop the airport expansion group. Finally all is not lost either way at least the registered voters in this county will h
  2. Sometimes we may have to be more forceful in exercising our first amendment rights
  3. Sort of ironic that you would post this.... Lets see 2007 Jerry Shearin was Commission Chairman, Pat Crook was County Administrator we were one year into building a General Aviation Airport, And six years away from secretly changing course and converting to a passenger airport. If I recall the meetings was open for discussions and the airport was reported to be within budget of $24 million. And was the award for a general aviation airport or was it one to compete with Hartsfield Jackson COMPLETE WITH PASSENGER SERVICE???? Sort of reminds me of the good old days when a man's word was his bond
  4. The article in this weeks Paulding neighbor really depicts the frustration that is building among the opponents of the airport expansion. What is most troubling about this debate is the failure of the Airport Board to allow citizens the opportunity to address them with their grievances David Austin Chairman of the BOC, Boyd Austin Mayor of Dallas And Doris Devey Mayor of Hiram all serve on the Paulding County Airport Authority. All of the above have procedures in place that allow the citizens to address them in the respective meetings in which they chair. This begs the question why would t
  5. I am concerned if it is profitable, My tax dollars are paying to operate in now The PCAA just cut he rent in half for the FBO, and it was not covering expenses then, With plans to pour another $40 million into the airport somebody needs to start getting concerned about a return on investment. You are quite a genius, I have been looking for a business plan on the Paulding.gov web site as well as the PCAA web site. Can you link me to the business plan that you are so proud of where all the readers can see it and make an informed decision as to whether it is a good deal to use tax dollars t
  6. Has anyone done a FOIA on how much tax dollars the County has actually spent on the Airport and how much the FAA has reimbursed the County ?
  7. I would really like to see the study that the airport Authority made that suggest that the airport would be profitable with a couple of flights per day. I would also like to see the study that the airport authority made that suggest that a MRO operation at the airport would be profitable? Of course I would also like to see the credentials of those on the Paulding County Airport Authority that suggest that they know how to design, Build, Maintain and Operate a profitable airport.
  8. You would of thought that Pubby would of had about a thousand word write up on the meeting.... Oh well I guess that does not fit his agenda
  9. Well how much have they paid?
  10. What part exactly do you say was well thought out and planned?
  11. You seem real knowledgeable on the federal funding so ...... Can you tell us how much the FAA has paid to date and how much the County and State has paid to date?
  12. The Airport was built 2006 to 2008 $10,000,000 over budget Now another $30,000,000 has been poured into it to date with another $30,000,000 planned. Bad planning and more dollars poured into project does not equal a successful business plan. Where is the experience of this so called group of PCAA or the IBA?
  13. Facts are straight He was elected in July 2012 did not have any opposition in the general , But even using your analogy he would of been elected no later than the first Tuesday of November, And you have maintained all along that the commercial passenger service was agreed on at the November 24 PCAA meeting I hope you leave my avatar alone.... It could be worse though you could use that picture of me and David sitting beside each other at a BOC meeting when Todd Pownall was blasting Shearin about the inter office e-mail on the proposed tax increase remember that
  14. This is exactly how Hartsfield Jackson grew in just a few short years. Of course some folks, and Pubby seem to think that this is not practical. Well take a little tour and you will see a monster that has crossed interstates gobbled up auto assembly plants, Schools, Thousands of homes brought in corruption, crime, And one thing that should be important to all of us.... Higher taxes...That's right folks Clayton County has higher taxes that we do and they have the busiest airport in the world. And probably the worst schools in the State I know our inept leaders are saying we need this
  15. Surepip you hit this one out of the ball park... How do I know that.... The pro airport folks have not been blasting you on anything in the post. Fact is they are probably agreeing with you right now, But will not post something that says they agree. But wait..... Pubby will be coming after you a little later. Seriously if I was a stock holder in the airport and it was being ran like it is I would replace the entire Board.... But wait.... we did see this trend in 2008 the airport was only $10 million over budget and David campaigned on Changes to the Airport Board and what did we get...Yep
  16. I thought that you, LPPT and David did a remarkable job of character assassination on Bill Heath this past election, Only problem was it didn't work
  17. No thinking here David Carmichael was in the negotiations and participated in the offsite in Douglasville Ga. June 2013 He was Commissioner elect when he was in the negotiations He was sworn in when he secretly met with the PCAA and the IBA at the offsite along with members of the FAA. If my memory serves me correctly Tommy Graham And Dave Carmichael both took a flight up the east coast to look at some General Aviation airports that were now commercial. Tommy spoke about this at the October BOC meeting himself
  18. That was not necessary a matter of trust between Todd and David Todd tried to keep David from supporting the movie Theatre among other things Todd was also disappointed in some of the appointments that David was making for instance hiring on some of Jerry Shearin old buddies, Todd also was upset that the County Facilities was being used as a place for photo ops for mailers in a political campaign. When Todd was supporting David during his first run for office there were promises made to him, David was almost weekly braking those promises that is what caused the split with David and Todd It
  19. I have faith in the people of Paulding County. They are smart enough to realize when we are being misled by a Few Commissioners And a group of people On the AA board and The IBA board that do not have a clue in how to run a County or any of the facilities that the County owns.
  20. LPPT the bolded is just a bunch of propaganda that Austin and his crew are putting out to cover up for the action they took in the secret meetings, I thought you were smart enough to see through that facade  Edited to add......Did you see this in the same article Delta “is not the client here.”
  21. When David got elected we had $ 34 million in the completed airport. Had a grand opening before he took office We are now over $65 million and still trying to borrow some more money for it. I would say that this is now Davids airport.
  22. And just how many of those on the PCAA and the IBA did you vote for, Or have the opportunity to vote for?
  23. They had advanced notice per the letter from the law firm that represents the PCCA. They are now asking for advance notice be given before the agenda is even posted on the web site. Do know That David Austin, Boyd Austin And Doris Devey who all chair the meetings that they were elected to chair in their respective elected positions all have provisions that are much less restrictive that what they are trying to institute at the PCAA. Of course I am quite sure that they have not had any input into the decision that was made by the Chairman of the PCAA and the Attorney representing the PCAA sin
  24. Pubby Roberts rules of order is not something that the chair has the absolute authority to rule on a issue and that is it. I have never seen a county meeting ran under the entire Roberts rule of order. Do know that Roberts rule of order has provision to "Challenge the Decision of the chair" Two times yesterday the decision made by the chair was in fact challenged and the proper procedure was not followed per Robert's rule of order. I sincerely hope that a law suit is not necessary in order to allow the citizens of this county the right to address the PCAA and the IBA about the conc
  25. Lady Raider The request to speak was made in a timely manner and was done in accordance to the language contained in a letter from the law firm that represents the PCAA in their meetings. At the beginning of the meeting the PCAA changed the rules and stated that a request to speak had to be made seven days in advance. Todd Pownall very quietly addressed the Chairman and the Attorney in a side bar type meeting and asked that the three citizens that were signed up to speak be allowed to speak. They were refused. Pubby taped the entire meeting I am surprised that he has not posted it here.
