Paulding.com Editorial asks ... was airport deal really that secret?
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
I use this page also to keep appraised of what is going on in the County. Problem is the site is not very accurate I looked for the special called meeting of the Airport authority that was held on 10/21/2012 and that was not posted. I looked for the special two day meeting of the PCAA and the IBA held in June and that was not posted either how do you get to go to these meetings if they are not properly posted on the Paulding.GOV web site.......... Of course you will have some tell you that all laws of the state was complied with, Heck some folks even run ads in the local fish wrapper statin -

A town hall type meeting has never been proposed by Mr. Lang A structured meeting yes Never a Town Hall Heck that is what everybody wants a series of town hall type meetings in every commissioners district -

An Opportunity For Public Debate Regarding The Airport Expansion

I do not believe Mr. Lang has proposed a "TOWN HALL STYLE" meeting if that is the case then we just need to figure out where the meetings will be held at? Open the doors and meet -
Very good information to consider before taking the big leap.

Pubby I realize that you are 100% behind this airport expansion, And you are 100% behind David Austin in his endeavor to bring Commercial passenger service to Our General Aviation Airport. What I fail to realize is in your zest to support these two initiative's you continue to write misleading comments. First the taxi ways were built according to specification for a General Aviation Airport, Their was No were no need to be wider until the PCAA decided in the secret meetings to have Passenger service, And thus the larger 140-180 passenger planes that did in fact require a wider taxi way and

Heck I am tickled to death to find out about this before it goes to the secret meeting committee and $20 Million tax dollars are allocated to build it. I really think that the private sector should be doing the financing of this project. And the selection site process should be studied a bit more before ground is broken and the building process begins. The site process should not come down to who owns the land but rather where it is needed For instance the most growth is projected to be around the Lake Point development . A excellent place for this project would be the far most en

An Opportunity For Public Debate Regarding The Airport Expansion
WHITEY replied to macarose's topic in RECENT TOPICS
David Austin can come on P.com And the Stop the expansion face book page and discuss the pro's and cons of the Airport expansion all that he cares , No one is stopping him. Heck he can discuss it during the BOC meetings when the citizens are standing there begging for some interaction and some debate in a open forum that is being televised for all the citizens to see. Part of a commissioners job is to interact with the folks he represents, David has no problem going regular to Chamber meetings and events and discussing the airport issues with people that are friendly to his antics, And the -
Pubby all I am trying to do in this post is draw a parallel of what the projected cost of the airport was $24 million in 2004 and the real cost in 2013 which could very easily reach $70 million in this coming year. And the planning that went into the development of the airport. If the runways and the taxi ways were not sufficient when built then that cost should be paid for by the person that has a contract to use the runway, Like wise the septic system, If it was not suitable for expansion then by all means let the person that is making the money on commercial flights pay for the sewerag

Paulding.com Editorial asks ... was airport deal really that secret?
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
Well a lot has already came out that we were not aware of in October 2013 and I do believe more will come out. I know that you are respectful and would never attempt to discredit anyone -
Just thought of a few more millions of dollars that you can add to the cost of the airport Sewerage which was added due to the need when it was going to be used for commercial service. Dallas ran the line not sure who paid for it but I assume the city of Dallas residents will foot this cost until their can be enough tap fees collected to pay for it. Do know that this is the first sewerage in this part of the county outside the city limits of Dallas. If Building continues to increase you can look for a explosion of new subdivisions to spring up in the area that the new sewer line will servic

Really makes no difference who Todd Pownall campaigned for David Austin took a oath to represent all the people not just the ones that voted for and supported him. David Austin made a concerted effort to keep Todd Pownall from knowing what was going on with the airport and David admitted such on camera at the BOC meeting that was played here on P.Com Sure he should of been include in the airport deal and David did not live up to the oath that he swore to when he failed to include a commissioner whose district was being severely impacted as Todd's was David Austin should be subjected to a reca -

Pubby I never meant to hurt your feelings, but I thought you were for hire, not a whore but for hire. Heck after leaving your office last month I was dead certain after the conversations you and I had that you had in fact made a deal to promote the expansion of the airport. You sure had me and many others fooled if that is not the case heck I have never seen you write so many post directed at certain individuals as you have on this airport expansion. Fact is I also thought you had LPPT disguised as Concerned PLDG Resident aiding and abetting you, I guess that theory is now out the windo -
An Opportunity For Public Debate Regarding The Airport Expansion

Steven if you are looking for someone to debate the Chairman of the Airport Authority Calvin Thompson in a one on one debate I would be more than happy to talk with some folks and see if that could be arranged. I have no authority in the group but I would be glad to act as a go between and see if we can get a debate going. I think that Calvin Thompson would be a excellent choice from the Pro expansion side since he has been on the Airport Board since day one and was recently re appointed to a four year term. Calvin is a well respected person in his community and Paulding County and by all -

mojo413 Here is a fact you can go to the bank with THIS IS NOT A DONE DEAL this fight for open honest and transparent government has just began. A editorial does not chance the facts about what has transpired nor does in change my determination to get to the bottom of this entire deal. That editorial does not move the special called meeting on 10/21/2012 at 7:00 AM to the regular scheduled meeting time. It does not change the video of 11/24/2012 from a 29 second coded approval of a secret deal to a fully discussed openly talked about contract with silver comet partners. Pubby -

Have you talked with Blake? May I suggest you talk with Blake before you get your foot so far down your throat that they will have to do a colonoscopy to get it out. -
There has been so many secrets that surround the airport that it is really difficult to get a total cost picture. of course that figure is growing daily with the law suits and the construction that is on going
