Airport discussed at Tuesday's commission meeting
WHITEY replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
I really am not speaking of the Commissioners meeting, They have provisions that allow for the citizens to address the commission over concerns that may arise, And yes over the years I have used that to address the commission. I really trying to understand why you cannot address the Airport Authority in the same manner in which you can address the board of commissioners, Heck Doris Devey, Boyd Austin and David Austin all allow citizens to address them in the meetings that they chair in their respective capacity, However if you try to address them at a airport authority meeting then they wi -

Why are they not just as accessible when they are having meetings that the public attends, and wants to ask them questions? Or do just certain folks have the access that you speak of? -

This is at least three different occasions that the County has used imminent domain to take a persons property at the airport site. The fire station would better serve the community if it was not built on the airport property, And the EMS center could be housed in the administration building. I have never seen a Authority given such a wide sweeping say so in the operation of the county. The elected officials Chairman David Austin Mayor Boyd Austin And Mayor Doris Devey should be ashamed to use imminent domain to take some ones property for this purpose. -

There you go again............. Where is your proof that Delta is behind this? Just because David said it does not make it so. The PCAA said that they were only going to have a General Aviation Airport, When David got reelected he broke the campaign promise to keep it a General Aviation airport. How do you trust the people that broke your trust on this major issue? A man word is his bond, A person that sneaks around in the early morning hours in secret meetings should not be trusted. -

For a Board that only meets one hour a month you have more trust in them than I do I thought the basics of every successful business was a good business model, Heck I am quite sure they were presented something from Silver Comet partners LLC that convinced at least a majority of the board that this was some what a good deal for the citizens...... ??? Only problem is no one has seen it why is this still a secret? -

This is Paulding County's downfall, We will have to pour $30 to $40 million more into the airport to even have a chance to break even. Heck those plans are already on the drawing board. This airport was suppose to be efficient and break even at $24 million invested, we are now at around $65 million and had to cut the rent in half on the FBO and still pouring around $3/4 of a million into the money pit just to keep in floating..... Have you seen a business plan on this grand adventure? or have you heard anyone talking about a business plan? I looked at some minutes and have yet to find a bu -

By Blakes on words the PCAA only meet for one hour per month, and No one except the secretary works full time on the job, Brett Smith to my knowledge has never attended a PCAA meeting, and you really think we should go forward with a project being ran like this? REALLY!!!!! -

And I have said a couple of times, because I flew paper planes in High School, that does not make me a Jet Pilot, nor does it qualify me to build or run a airport. Millions in tax dollars are being wasted on this "work in progress." Time to cut the losses -

The county really did not have a choice, The FAA said they were going to be another EA before any consideration for commercial service would be considered. This is just another example of the airport authority not having experienced/qualified personnel trying to run/build a airport. Of course if the citizens are not allowed to voice their opinions at the PCAA meetings then..............We will just continue to pour millions of dollars in tax money into a bottomless pit -

The new ems system should of been placed in the new administration building in some of the empty space that has never been used to date and the fire station should of been located in the community to give the most fire protection for the residents. Anything built at the airport will have to have FAA approval with or without a law suit. Of course you new that and so did the PCAA, They agreed to the settlement as well as the County Attorneys. As far as I know the County has not appealed. This is just some more indications to me that no one on the PCAA has the knowledge of what to do in bu -
I was thinking the same thing.... The County is using tax dollars to fight the citizens right to have their day in court. Oh well they can have secret meetings do devious things and when they get their hand called on it they want the citizens to post a Million Dollar bond in order for them to have their day in court. How do we impeach these thugs????

Posted on the Stop Paulding County Airport expansion face book page **HEARING, FEB. 5, 2014 at COURTHOUSE** Yes, there will be another hearing this coming Wednesday, Feb. 5th @ 9:00 a.m. at the Courthouse! The County/Airport Authority has filed a motion requiring Anthony Avery and Sue Wilkins to post a one million dollar bond, in order to appeal the Bond Intervention decision made by Judge Beavers back in December, 2013. Appeals often require the posting of a bond when the case in considered frivolous. Obviously, we do not think this case is frivolous, yet, there must be a hearing to det

Beach Bum I have listened to both sides, I have talked with most of the elected representatives, I have attended most of the meetings that both sides have, I have read the face book pages of both sides and I have read the post of those both pro and anti airport. I also have heard about the polling that has been done, And I can assure you that the polling is not favorable for the pro airport folks. I have never asked anything of the elected officials other than what platform that they ran on and what they promised during the campaign some as recent as 2012. All of them were opposed to

I really do realize that everything won't go our way. Fact is it has been a tough battle so far and will get tougher as we go along. This is the second issue that has been successful for the group, I hope the group will be successful in many more, It is really tough trying to prevent any County from dragging out law suits through delays. I wish they would expedite the cases through the system. If money talks as you assert, I can assure you the County has not been a bit reluctant to use unlimited tax dollars to cram something down our throats.

Well I was surprised as was most of the folks at the BOC meeting. You do know this was a reversal of the position by the FAA?? I am sorry but I do not understand this statement....".Really, you and your group are not doing yourselves any favors lately. I'm sorry you don't either understand or realize this..........." Care to explain???

Toxic you really need to stay tuned what I posted above is what DAVID AUSTIN AND MIKE JONES reported at todays BOC meeting, Pubby recorded it I am not sure if he will post it or how it will be spun by him but I am sure that pretty soon it will be posted on the Stop Paulding County airport face book page as well as the Protect Paulding County face book page the last two will not be narrated. If you do not wish to hear the other side of the airport issue may I suggest that you make friends with the ignore button, It is not mandatory that you read any ones post. If you really are interested

Yes the FAA has stopped the construction at the airport, Seems that the PCAA and the BoC may have not been doing things in compliance with the FAA guidelines. The way I understand it all work has grinded to a halt until the environmental impact is completed. Concerned Pldg Resident has been dispatched to the airport to advise Brett on how to deal with this little bump in the road, For the past few days he seemed to have all the answers so I am sure he will have the construction work restarted by tomorrow. OH.... I know.... Lets get the hearing done now no need in the County draggin
-
And all of a sudden the FAA grinds it all to a halt The Paulding six in their little blue "costumes" have now prevailed.
-
Concerned Pldg Resident.... I do believe that you have been misinformed as to what work can be stopped.... Yep the report at the BOC meeting today was pretty clear they have now stopped all work with the exception of the taxi way widening.... Do know that portion will also stop as soon as the dollars run out from the loan from the IBA.
-
Yep that's our little costumes according to the pro airport group see ya there

Pubby I am coming and I will be wearing my costume.

The board of commissioners will be meeting tomorrow 1/28/2013 at 10:00 AM work session and again at 7:00 PM for the regular session. LPPT you can come to this meeting and discuss your concerns about the influx of commercial businesses coming to this area, Heck bring CPR with you.

Your taxes may be half of what you were paying six years ago as you contend, But I can assure you that it was not something that the commissioner did to lower your taxes. If you turned 65 during that six year period I am sure your School taxes cut in half, and if you are seventy them you pay no school taxes, Of course if your property was devalued by 50% you could of also got a 50% reduction, But I have not seen a 50% devaluation. I am interested to know how your taxes were cut in half...care to share?

We are sound fiscally because the millage rates were increased and folks were laid off/furloughed. Millions have been poured it the airport during this time in a very sneaky manner. Millions more will be put into it if David Austin, David Barnett, And Tommy Graham have their way.
