Since you were appointed to the steering by the chamber of commerce and they put out a full page ad promoting the airport and you have previously stated that you have done due diligence and really studied the issue Will you please advise the readers just what information that you and the chamber has that would remotely indicate that a increase of about 200 cars per day on 278 and a few flights per week would create over 2,000 jobs and generate $350,000,000 dollars in revenue?

The commissioners legally according to the rules cannot allow you to speak. since you will be pro airport I suspect they will allow you,they do not get many request to speak in support, Heck bring your friend Beach Bum with you for support

No need for you to embellish what was done at the meeting, It can be viewed on video, To my knowledge no one was escorted out as you allege one person did say some words to the effect that the steering committee was a farce and stated he was leaving no escort was needed. And he did later apologize, I do not recall another person leaving that meeting' and surely do not recall anyone being escorted out, one did voluntarily leave There was a large number of folks with signs present and when David Austin announced his choice their were some discontent voiced . I am not aware of the incident

Yep the Court room was where we found out that the IBA and the PCAA had the secret two day off site in Douglasville Ga. for the 139 certification. Amazing how minutes of these meetings had to be presented and approved about 5 months after the meetings were held and the Commission CHAIRMAN David Austin and Commissioner David Carmichael was in attendance both days along with both Mayors and representatives from the chamber of commerce . I disagree with folks that do not live in the county voicing support for the airport, They need to have A LITTLE SKIN IN THE GAME Like being tax payers and then maybe they would of have a different opinion of the money pit on 278.. Regardless of what Beach Bum posted earlier there is a you tube video available of the meeting in which she describes as being disruptive and you need to view it yourself. Were you afforded the opportunity to speak at steering committee meeting?

I would of been just as unbiased as those that served. I never had a desire to be on the steering committee I always thought it was a farce to buy some more time by David Barnette, David Carmichael and David Austin. The IGA proved the validity of my thoughts.

They did get another $ 100,000 from the general fund this year for a total of $400,000 for two employees and some M&O David Austin proposed this increase to the budget and then Carmichael, Graham, Barnett and Austin voted to give them the increase.. Later the Board of commissioners gave them complete control of the Airport including the 163 acres that was purchased from the City of Atlanta Todd Pownall was the only commissioner that opposed this.

Now that is a good question? David Carmichael knows all the folks on the Airport Authority and speaks very highly of them maybe he will come on p.com and confirm who myfoxatlanta is talking about????

Yea what amazes me is the fact that Doris and Boykin are all giddy about using code names and making motions and seconding motions and then giving the farm away to the airport authority through the IGA agreement, yet they never mentioned any of this in their state of the city address. LMAO they think no one is paying attention, And what a asinine statement from Boykin on the TAX INCREASE -
For this group it was early and out of the ordinary. But hey now they have total control of the running of the airport and maybe they will meet more that one hour each month like they do now. AND BTW that meeting held at the crack of dawn may be the subject of a pending lawsuit soooo. Don't go around boasting and beating yourself on the chest

I have remained silent about the entire race, in house district 19 I have not delved into the that race at all, if memory serves me both of those candidates in that race may of had some difficulties in the past. Whenever they get defeated in a landslide Like they defeated their opponents. Collett defeated two hand picked candidates PRO AIRPORT without a runoff. And Crowe defeated a incumbent commissioner who is PRO AIRPORT. Those were landslide victories!!!!! Of course your buds the Austin boys was campaigning very hard for their candidates and it did not pay off for them.

The governing authority of the City of Dallas has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 11.07%. The Austin boys are the ones that should of included Todd in theses negotiations, At least Blake Swafford a county employee should of included Todd. David Austin has the major responsibility in this matter heck he stated Todd was not included in a BOC meeting. Did any of the Airport members have a responsibility to talk with Todd about the impending agreement, how about Calvin Thompson, did he have the responsibility to go to Todd and say I have changed my mind I am pushing for PASSENGER SERVICE??? NewsJunky It saddens me to see laws that allow a person that received 98 votes sit on authorities that can spend millions in tax dollars and make motions and second other motions that will change the face of Paulding County forever, and be a part of secret negotiations, and not involve a post commissioner whose post contains the airport. I think Doris Devey is a sweet nice person who may have got caught up into something that she was over her head in, Who knows what her thoughts were? I am sure that some of the folks on the Airport and IBA may have twisted her arm a bit. the facts remain

Why didn't David Austin do his job and notify Todd about what was going on in his post. Why did David Carmichael attend and vote on the issues as a member of the Airport Authority and keep this from Todd. Heck he sets right beside him in the regular BOC meetings. Why did the county attorney who sets on the other side of Todd not inform him about what was going on Hell he is suppose to represent all the commissioners not just those that are trying to slip something by Todd. Todd Pownall can prove that the secret meeting held in October 2012 that he was not even notified of the meeting, Do know that meeting was scheduled before the crack of dawn in the wee hours of the morning and was not posted on the County web site like previous meetings that were special called this was the first SECRET meeting held by the PCAA Here is the November meeting where the passenger service was approved And the code name that was used. Dio know that there was no previous discussion at this meeting they are returning from closed session and this is what was transpired.
