Cobb County Marietta Water Authority(CCMWA) is permitted to withdraw 72,000,000 gallons of water/day(MGD) from Lake Allatoona.Which is made up mostly by the Etowah River.Paulding County still has over 20 years under contract to buy their water from CCMWA. Now,however much water is removed from the lake,needs to be returned to the same river basin.So that others downstream receive the same flows. Now,Paulding County wants a permit to withdraw 35 MGD from the Etowah for a reservoir that might not hold water,and there is a pilot study goin

Maybe they're asking too much for their property and they need someone from the government to educate them

But see,there are several programs that folks with more than 10 acres of land can enroll their property in.Wildlife programs that allows them to pay lower taxes so they can hold on to their large tract. And,maybe those large tracts of land aren't sitting idle,Trees are big business also.

So,if the county government wants more business,they can just raise taxes so the large landowners are forced to sell?.......Well hell,that's a fair deal right there...........If people have large tracts of land that they enjoy and do not want to sell,then by God that is their right as an American!.....Did we not fight for our independence for England over such tyranny as this?

If land owners want $200K/acre,that's their right to ask that price.They don't need educating on location and land prices. Something to think about,how much more could be done for the safety of county citizens if that money wasn't being spent elsewhere? Your commissioners and builder friends can't make money by using taxes for safety.

Personally, I see advantages of forcing more shipping by railroad.Takes more trucks off the road,less pollution and much less fuel used.

And everywhere roads were widened or new roads built to "ease traffic congestion"......what has happened? More traffic and more strip malls.

I don't want this road because I moved out here to get away from that crap.The noise and pollution,why would anyone want that close by? It does not bother me that I have to drive at least 12 miles to the nearest grocery store,heck I love not having it close.
