Ok, please keep in mind my grandfather is 77 years old and a little hard of hearing, but he just called me and wanted to know what a red alert is. I said I don't know, why, and he said he just received a phone call that said, "this is a red alert please hold the line," and then when the person on the phone came back he said contact www.paulding.gov. Can someone make any sense of this so I can tell him what they really said or really meant. He isn't alarmed and doesn't get alarmed but he wanted to know "what I make of it" lol. I just saw another post about this same thing....

My co-workers sister-in-law here in Paulding lost everything. Her roof caved in. She is in need of boys size 4 shoes, size 10 pants for her 9 yo son and size 15 junior jeans, xl shirts and womens size 11 shoes for her 12 year old daughter. If anyone has any of these, I work in Dallas and would love to pass these on to her. If I need to go through CC just let me know. I don't know how that works. My co-worker said they were going back to the house today but everything was covered in mud now that was covered in water.

OFFICIAL NOTICE: NO PLAN TO CUT OFF WATER (EVER)
tkwood141 replied to gpatt0n's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Could have fooled me lol.... I woke up with my water cut off! Yay, try telling 3 kids not to flush the toilet!!!! If I had known, I would have saved some so we wouldn't be left without any. Guess I should have paid attention to the rumors lol. -
Anybody had hip replacement surgery?
tkwood141 replied to Haunted Junkyard Hayride's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My husband, at the ripe old age of 30, had a total hip replacement and used Dr. Bowerman in Rome. He has been by far, the best Dr. I've ever met. Five years ago he did his first surgery of putting steel plates and pins so my husband could walk again. The dr's demeanor was something I will never forget. He was very understanding and kind and his office staff was very nice. I hope you find the right doctor for him. Please PM me if you have questions. -
Welcome.... I am from Yorkville too. I love Slate Market Grill in Rockmart which is off of 278 the OTHER direction. I love downtown Rockmart because there is no Hiram traffic! I also love Frankie's Italian Restaurant in downtown Rockmart. LOVE her bread and salads and lasagna! It is also right off the silver comet trail if you like to bike ride. She is very biker friendly. We have our own Walmart too lol although it isn't as big as I would like. I have 3 kids and love the area, I was born and raised here so feel free to PM me too with any questions.

The fines are steep though so its a bad gamble. The reason I knew about is all of the Consignment stores in Rockmart got together and had an actual representative come out because of all of the rumors circulating. She brought all the material on the new law and that way all of the resell stores in Rockmart would know what could be sold. I know she would probably come out to Dallas too if all of the resale/consignment/thrift stores wanted to get together on a certain day, I can get her contact information. It helps to have facts and not heresay because it can all get so touchy. But I know

I don't know about after 30, but after birthing 3 kids do NOT jump on the trampoline!!!!
-
Yes, there were, but on August 14, 2009 they dropped the lead limits able to be sold from 660 ppm to 90 ppm and they said the chances of any clothing passing the new law just implemented is very rare. So it is better to just pull them (the clothes w/ metal buttons and zippers) and start just accepting the clothes with the plastic buttons and elastic waist. It is going to be a pain, but the fines are not worth it. Here is a link from the CPSC's website on the new law: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09306.html

I am wondering if they will be carrying kids clothes size 12 and under because of the new lead law just passed..... I have all the literature on it, and any consignment, goodwill, thrift store, etc now cannot sell any kids size 12 and under clothes that has any metal pieces on it (i.e. zipper, buttons) or drawstrings over 3 inches. It has put a damper on a lot of stores, having to pull clothes. You can have your clothing lead tested but the chances of it being under the new lead limits is very small. I will be curious to see if they are selling kids clothing.....

I know..... thats why I asked here to see if anyone knew. Didn't want to be calling Paulding Quick Bail to get me out...... I think I responded to your PM already, but I have 5 boxes of $50, willing to "give" them away for a $100 donation, lol.......

My grandfather stopped smoking cigars and I had just ordered him 10 boxes a few months ago. He has 5 left, and wants me to try to find someone who smokes them. I see ads on craigslist for cigars for sale but I didn't think that was legal, or is it???? I ordered them online from a cigar company, and have the receipt. I have ordered from them on his behalf for a long time but I don't think they would let you return them. Any ideas as to what I can do w/ 250 Dutch Master cigars?????

where is a good place to have outdoor pictures taken?
tkwood141 replied to rhonda trott's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I keep passing people going across the railroad tracks down that road next to Benson Funeral home. There is a photographer that uses that for props, that old red building and there is a fence there too. It looks like it would make really good pics.... -
I have been and omg it was so much fun and let me just say the food was out of this world good. They are so nice there and it really is a great getaway place that is still close to home. I hope you get to go!

Yes, by all means.... talk to an attorney. But you can do it yourself. You just have to educate yourself before you do.

Also, someone I know just borrowed a book from her local library in Kennesaw "Filing for Divorce Yourself in Georgia" and she said it really helped her. She did it for $85 in Cobb County. If they have to be served the paperwork b/c they won't sign, it's an additional $25 she said.

http://lawlibrary.cobbcountyga.gov/selfhelp.htm It is for Cobb County but it has good info and I believe you can use the forms for any county. She can do it without his signature but it cost a little bit more..... Good Luck to her.
