Interleukin was an expiermental drug when my husband got kidney cancer in 1994. We were able to get into the NIH for the expiermental use of the drug. He was 6 weeks on, 6 weeks off, a shot every day. It didn't cure it, but it slowed the growth down. He lived 4 1/2 years from the time of diagnosis whereas at that particular time, most folks that got kidney cancer lived a year, maybe less.
