  2. Aye Matey! So would I  ARRRRR.........Avast Ye! Aye Matey ‘Ere There Be Pirates TalkingWhy this insanity you ask? Well…apparently today just happens to be "Talk Like A Pirate" Day. Which as crazy as the name sounds literally is a day where you talk…or in this case blog like a pirate. So to celebrate this obscure event, I have come up with a list of things to do throughout the day. Talk like a pirate (obviously). Rob, pillage and otherwise plunder my weasely ass out of all situations today. Avoid Aztec gold for reasons of safety. Take what I can and gi
  3. Poor Miss Daisy...........Hope she feels better soon!
  4. These are the Indian names for the full moons.............. • Full Corn Moon or Full Harvest Moon – September This full moon's name is attributed to Native Americans because it marked when corn was supposed to be harvested. Most often, the September full moon is actually the Harvest Moon, which is the full Moon that occurs closest to the autumn equinox. In two years out of three, the Harvest Moon comes in September, but in some years it occurs in October. At the peak of harvest, farmers can work late into the night by the light of this Moon. Usually the full Moon rises an average
  5. Ok, I looked it up................I've always loved the Harvest Moon, it should be big and orange coming up this evening!! The scheduled moon rise for tonight is 7:40 PM for Atlanta, so it will be a few minutes later for us. How did the Harvest Moon get its name? Why is this moon – the moon closest to the autumnal equinox – called the Harvest Moon? The shorter-than-usual time between moonrises around the full Harvest Moon means no long period of darkness between sunset and moonrise for days in succession. In the days before tractor lights, the lamp of the Harvest Moon hel
  6. We actually go up I-985 to Hwy. 441 up to Dillard and eat at the Dillard House. Then we mosey up north through Franklin up to Cherokee and take the mountain across the Great Smokey Mountain National Park over to Gatlinburg. It's a beautiful ride. And we have a full tummy from eating at the Dillard House. ETA: We have gone during the winter, January and February, so you have to check the website for the Parkway to make sure it's open. It's at much, much higher elevations and it will be closed from time to time because of snow and ice. And from Cherokee, you don't want to have to make
  7. Ok, so I've been reading and I don't know if I want to go through any of this..........Lord I don't need a self-inflicted illness. Maybe I'll take my chances. I'm confused These are some side effects people suffered from the pneumonia shot...........good grief! here
  8. I see Clark's all the time at wrecks. Are you saying the service they provide is not good?
  9. The harvest moon is unusually bright I think due to some atmospheric conditions and it is much brighter than usual. The reason they called it the harvest moon back in the day is because farmers could still see to gather crops after dark. Sounds good, right? I'm on my iPhone and I'm not looking it up. LOL
  10. LOL. Makes you wonder where the term "party pooper" really came from!
  11. It's beautiful outside and the moon is so bright. If you're still up, it's worth walking outside for. But then I've always been a moonie. LOL. If you missed it tonight, I'm sure it will be beautiful coming up tomorrow night. And it's the Harvest Moon. From HUFFPOST. Skywatchers, get ready for a special sight tonight: with the autumnal equinox set to fall on Sept. 22, the 2013 Harvest Moon will be in full bloom Wednesday night. The term "Harvest Moon" or "Corn Moon," is used to describe the full moon that occurs closest to fall's equinox. For skywatchers in North America,
  12. It's all good, I'm glad you've got a life
  13. The lake we live on has been here for a very, very long time. I've wondered what has been dumped in it
  14. And that's what I'm thinking since its fall. That's why we come in the back way from Cherokee. It gets backed up but NOTHING like that mess when you get off the interstate. It can take an hour!
  15. Don't forget 100's of pancakes places.
  16. Poor Lucy and a few million other "special" folks!
  17. You tainted your own thread with your bitchy remarks. No jellyness here, and I don't think from anyone else.
  18. It depends on the mood. We usually go through the mountains up to Cherokee over the mountain into Gatlinburg. Coming home we use the interstate, because we're ready to get home.
  19. You said: directed at rednekkhikkchikk And how do you know that? Then you said: And you know that how? And finally you said: If you have to slam someone else, maybe you're not as happy as you think your are. Just an observation.
  20. I liked the song and I though the videography was very good. I thought her nakedness added to the video She's no different than Lady GaGa or Niki whatshername trying find her place. She's evolving through her art, not drugs. And I sure hope there won't be an issue of drugs for her.
  21. We're coming up on the time of year I love to have a fire, make a good meal with my kids over and some coffee and dessert in front of the fire. And tell them every time you see them "I love you". It could be the last time.
  22. Check the website above. You'll put in your year, make and model and it will tell you if you can or not. It told me for my grandsons car I couldn't.
