  1. I don't want contractors in my school system. I don't trust the Board to do the right thing. I don't trust people, especially around children. I don't think the folks, who have been dedicated to the school system and worked for years, should lose their jobs.
  2. I just want to say this, FOX and RED are talking about contractors around grown folks. Our Board of Education is talking about contractors around our children. Big difference.
  3. Exactly, I'm not worried about the freakin' carpet, I'm worried about the safety of my two grandbabies that are in this school system!!! One is my baby grandgirl and the other is my sweet grandboy, and the perverts out there are not choosy. Either one will do.
  4. I enjoyed it very much. For me it made the big players more personal. I understand the film developers took some liberty with the story, but it still made me feel proud that there were men over 200 years ago willing to die for our freedom from the King and government. The movie "The Patriot" is one of my favorites. It shows just how low the King of England was. I think we had Gods hand on us to become what we are. We're still the greatest nation on earth, still trying to hold on to that freedom and keep the government out.
  5. My husband is at about 20 - 0 on squirrels. They're destructive little devils on the bird feeders. And he uses a regular BB gun. You just gotta hit them in the right spot.
  6. From everything I've heard on the news, it wasn't nearly as bad as predicted. And that's a good thing!
  7. I expressed my concern in the other topic for our defenseless children. I don't like it at all. Who's going to do the background check, who's going to check behind them that a background check was in fact done? You know, nepotism and all that. Will there be a public meeting for citizen input? Or does it really matter and the county will do what they please with our tax dollars?
  8. Have you tried Walmart, that's where I got my grandson's years ago. The scope is extra. Well, at that time it was. May be different now. Try Academy Sports.
  9. I've been thinking about this since last night and I don't like it for many reasons. I don't like the thought of dedicated, long term employees losing their jobs................... My main concern is the safety of the children. Who's going to do the background checks on these people? And what kind of record will be allowed for employment? It doesn't take 5 minutes in a bathroom with a child to do permanant damage. You know, once you get into middle school and high school, a lot of kids stay after school with not many adults around. Doesn't take long to rape a young girl who
  10. Since it's in Asia, they probably really are hot dogs.
  11. The rush started this week-end..........and by Friday night the store shelves were empty. I heard on the news tonight NY was shutting down the subways, and everyone was trying to make their mass exodus this afternoon. The is going to be a terrible storm with heavy, wet snow and possible flooding and loss of power. I pray for those folks it's not as bad as predicted. More than 50 million people from Philadelphia to Boston are bracing for a potentially historic winter storm that could leave up to three feet of snow in its wake. The National Weather Service says the nor'eas
  12. I've been reading about it on FB this week-end. I think he's retired BellSouth. I knew some Runions a long time ago when I was with Southern Bell.
  13. And why kill them? What was the motive? Money? why couldn't he just rob them and leave them alone. It will take years and years for him to fry.........oh they don't fry them anymore. That's inhumane. Now they get shots so they can go to sleep.
  14. Hope your recovery is soon and without incident. My SIL had one go to her lung after knee surgery, very scary and she's lucky to be alive. Best wishes
  15. Here's a link. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/suspect-missing-cobb-county-couple-custody/njxF8/?breaker0126time=240 And I'm going to say this. I noticed that when the daughters started talking about it, it was over the week-end. One of the daughters said: Channel 2’s Liz Artz spoke to the couple’s daughters, who became worried when their parents did not show up to babysit their grandchildren on Friday. The couple left on Thursday and no one had heard from them since 3:30 that day. I would have been worried by the evening if I couldn't get in touch with them and w
  16. Oh my goodness. I was just thinking about them and going to watch the news. What I don't get is I would never let my elderly parents drive to a tiny town in south Georia to meet someone from Craigslist to buy a car. Someone should have gone with them, with a gun. There's power in numbers. Do you have a link? And just to add, I would never buy or sell from Craigslist. lt should be called MurderRobRapelist.
  17. BB, your cake looks yummy! My mini meat loaves were delicious. I had never used that recipe before. Think I will again!

    windows 8.1

I got my laptop in the fall of '12, right as 8 was coming out. I tried a couple and didn't like them at all. I found one with Windows 7 and and got a steal on it. And I'm so glad I did. I remember when Vista came out and I cursed it everyday.
  19. I know they're dangerous and life-threatening. I take an aspirin every day.
  20. Mine has gone up the last 3 years, since they had to pass the bill to see what's in it. Well, that's what's in it, 2000 pages nobody can understand except the insurance companies that are making a killing. And I still have the same BC/BS that I've always had with AT&T and it keeps going up up up. So much for Obamacare and the poor. Who in the heck can afford the deductible?
  21. What about the folks that just can't afford it? They're still without insurance.
