  1. Starr & Dru's Nana These addicts are not covered by insurance and no, they can't afford treatment to get off opiates. They sell half their drugs to support their habit and to get more. Tell me how, when they have no more to sell and no money, they can go to a pain management clinic to get help? Especially when the pain managment clinic charges $250 a visit. That's not a viable answer for a street addict.
  2. I advocate the legalization of drugs. People are going to use them regardless. The war on drugs is a huge failure. Just say No?? Say NO to what, your addiction that causes misery and mental and physical pain and withdrawal with no place to get any help? Instead of incarceration, spend the money on treatment centers, someplace these folks can go to to get help . At least to de-tox and make a decision to try to get clean. Incarceration is big business. $$$ New York is seeing success with a program to not arrest folks with recreational use marijuana. The jail system is less crowd
  3. Where is the help? There's no help unless you have $500 - $1000 each week for treatment. Common sense will tell you an addict can't afford that. An addict is living with a monkey on his back, most likely shuffling from drug house to drug house or living in the woods. It's like a dog chasing his tail, there is no end in sight, and sometimes for these folks, a deadly overdose is a release from the bond that ties them.
  4. She had some strange eyes...............
  5. MsGaStorm, I think you should get it as well. When I got mine, I thought you had to be 65 for insurance to pay but I was 62 and they paid. But I was prepared to pay for it when I went and I was so glad my insurance paid. At the time the shot was around $250 for shingles. And I would think with your medical status and compromised immune system they might pay for the shingles vaccine. And they should pay for the pneumonia shot as well. I have a friend that is 71 and she's had the shingles off and on for a year now. I had no idea it could keep coming back, but she never got the shingles vaccin
  6. I need to call her.......and soon! I always do ours, but this year there are a few more things that I think I need a professional to help with. I'll be damned if I want to pay more than I have to!!!
  7. And just to add, I'm not big on extended warranties but something that expensive and necessary, I will. It was purchased at Lowes and I checked into the warranty company and its reputable. So far so good.
  8. This refrigerator was expensive so we purchased an extended warranty for 5 years. Seems like it will be worth it! They don't make anything to last anymore. At least my Whirlpool W&D has lasted well over 10 years. (I probably shouldn't have said that!!) For years I kept my grandmother's frig in my basement in my other house, my mother bought it for her in 1950. That means it was still working after 55 years and nothing was ever done to it.
  9. Ice makers are made to be replaced. I'm having that done on Monday and my Whirlpool is 2 years old. Mine is a French door with the ice maker and water on the left side of the frig. At least we have the warranty
  10. Eddie, Please get your shingles vaccine. I got mine a couple of years ago. You tend to get it as you get older.
  11. He may just be lucky and have thick lashes, on my grandson you can actually see a double row.
  12. TP is just off topic. He has his own agenda.
  13. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come from across the border. That was my first thought when I heard the report a couple of weeks ago. I had the measles when I was a kid, back in 1955 before there were immunizations. I was in the hospital, in a dark room and I was very sick. I had an oxygen tent, which meant they put a plastic sheet over your bed and put the oxygen in there. That was before portable tanks and oxygen.
  14. Stradial, did you know she had a genetic mutation? She had a double row of eyelashes, that's why they were so thick and beautiful......that and her violet eyes. My grandson has a double row of eyelashes.
  15. I think it's an epidemic waiting to happen with all of the folks that aren't vaccinated.
  16. I thought this topic was about a missing 4 wheeler.
  17. I figure all those high powered Generals are all sociopaths suffering with NPD.
  18. Your wife? I think I would like being married to you
  19. Somebody has too much time on their hands.................... Just sayin' Cool pics, especially Dali
  20. I think they wand/metal detect you. We went to a concert years ago and my husband forgot about the knife he had in his pocket. He had to get rid of it. I don't think a gun would pass.
  21. I guess to put it simply, I don't trust the/our/any government to do the right thing.
  22. Good God. I know what contractors are. My husband is a contractor since he retired. And I'm not as worried about the high schoolers as I am the younger, smaller children who are defefenseless. You folks know what I'm saying. And NO, I don't think contractors are evil. Good grief. I think some of the criminal element can slip through if no one is following up. Would you be willing to risk your child for something the government thinks is best for everyone?
