  1. I don't like Dr. Sacks. He was my mother's heart doctor in the beginning and he just always seem preoccupied with something else. She had an enlarged abdominal aorta and we had to keep an eye on it. He was useless. I found her another cardiologist and was pleased with him. I wish I had told Dr. Sacks he just needed to quit his practice and go write a book or whatever.
  2. Well, I found this, so I guess it's debatable............ Often people misuse the word “hone” by placing it in sentences where it doesn’t belong, but it’s a simple confusion that can be cleared up by understanding its definition. The verb “hone” means “to sharpen or make more acute,” as in honing a talent. Alfred honed his negotiation skills to buy a new car at a very reasonable price. I hone my abs by doing 100 sit-ups a day.Generally, people drop it into sentences where they should use “home.” In verb form, “home” (as in “to home in on”) means “to move or be aimed towar
  3. I really want to see this. Vietman is part of my life, I bid goodbye to 2 cousins and several friends headed to Vietman and was thankful when they all came home safe. I also had the pleasure in the eighties of knowing a family from South Vietnam that were fortunate enough to hitch a ride on one of the last helicopters when Siagon collapsed. I heard lots of interesting stories. Rory Kennedy sheds light on America’s ‘Last Days in Vietnam’ in her Oscar-nominated documentary By Bianna Golodryga 11 hours ago Yahoo News In her latest documentary, “Last Days in Vietnam,” dire
  4. Christophe Courteau's harrowing encounter occurs in a Rwanda rainforest, where mountain gorillas often get drunk on fermented bamboo; 'Like being hit by a train' February 10, 2015 by Pete Thomas From Christophe Courteau’s point of view, when the large mountain gorilla cocked its arm and clenched its fist and gave him the most ominous kind of look, it must have seemed as though the lights would be going out very quickly. Making matters worse was that the alpha-male gorilla, normally timid in the presence of humans, was drunk on fermented bamboo stems–and ornery. But the 46-ye
  5. No I didn't, I don't watch anything on NBC and I haven't for years. Funny thing, I used to watch NBC all the time years ago. I'm just glad he got the job!
  6. I love to hear the sandhill cranes and see them flying.........it does give that "Spring is coming!" feeling! BUT between now and then, get ready for some cold weather in the next few days and Sunday I ain't going out of the house!! Glad I still got plenty of firewood.
  7. From what I read, right now it's just for 6 months. But he's so likable maybe he'll get it full time. I've been wondering for years why he was never the main anchor. Maybe now is his time. I remember the first time I saw him on the news.
  8. Not anymore. My man Lester Holt is replacing him! Finally! Although he's been filling in for years.
  9. "Take Me To Church" is performed by Hozier, and Irishman. The song is about sex and a defiance directed at the Catholic Church. http://www.motherjones.com/mixed-media/2014/03/interview-hozier-take-me-church-homophobia-video Andrew Hozier Byrne—a 24-year-old Irishman who goes by his middle name onstage—has captured passion in his first single, "Take Me To Church." "It was always about sexuality," he says earnestly over a crackling phone line from a Dublin café. "There is no greater celebration of life, and nothing more human than a sexual act." Intended as a swipe at the Catho

Despite rumors, Bobbi Kristina Brown will not be taken off life support on the third anniversary of her mother Whitney Houston's death, a Houston family source tells Us Weekly. 11. German measles are the 3 day measles and hardly cause any problem at all. The red measles are more serious. I guess they knew the difference, especially with a high fever and unable to breathe. I developed pneumonia, hence the oxygen "tent". That was back in the day before portable oxygen and the tubes that go in your nose. It was literally a sheet of clear plastic draped over my bed with oxygen pumped in. I found this: Measles is a much more severe disease. The vast majority of person with measles have fevers, cold symptoms and cough, then a rash lasting 5 - 7 days, with hig
  12. I knew this was what they were waiting for and I'm not passing judgement. Regardless of when they let her go, it will be profoundly sad for the family. They may even bury her on the same date as Whitney, next to her. Report: Houston Family Will Let Bobbi Kristina Die on Same Day as Whitney . TV Guide By Liz Raftery 1 hour ago Bobbi Kristina Brown's family will take her off life support on Wednesday so that Brown can die on the same day as her mother Whitney Houston, the New York Post's Page Six reports. 13. In case you missed it, and I just happened to catch the performance going back and forth. I've always loved her powerful, strong voice. Annie Lennox Rocks the Grammys at 60 Sara Bliss Writer ‎February‎ ‎09‎, ‎2015 While some stars at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards are relying on outrageous wigs, purple hair, amped-up smoky eyes, major cleavage, and some serious Botox—60-year-old Annie Lennox doesn’t need anything extra to stand out. She showed up on the red carpet with her signature pixie cut (now blonde), subtle pink makeup and a long-sleeved black dress. She definitely
  14. Pray. If they're over 18, basically there's nothing you can do. You can try to talk them into rehab, but they usually go just to placate family. And it might help even if they don't want to go. Pray, and hope they make the decision to get help on their own.
  15. My parents and grandparents were afraid for me because measles does kill. I had them in 1955 before vaccinations and ended up in the hospital. I remember there were two types of measles when I was little and I had both, the bad one put me in the hospital. One was measles and one was German measles. I can't understand how anyone would not be afraid of the measles back in the day. And chicken pox was just a given, everybody got chicken pox. Even my kids got chicken pox, that was back in the late 70's early 80's before vaccines for chicken pox. There are two "forms" of me
  16. Check out Sam Smith, the one that walked away with 5 Grammys last night. He's British and sings blues and R&B. I never heard of him until last night. He and Mary J were the bomb. And I enjoy the old tunes Lady Gaga is doing with Tony Bennett. They make a good pair. And I like Jesse J.
  17. Eugene knows.....................oh wait! He lied. I'll never like Eugene, he needs to get bit.
  18. I heard about the "measles parties". I remember back in nineties they used to have "chicken pox parties" so parents could get their kids exposed and over with. BIG difference between measles and chicken pox. I had measles when I was around 5 (way before vaccines) and I was in the hospital, in a very dark room with oxygen, and I was very, very sick. I think I heard on the news that one baby had already died from the measles.
  19. That's exactly what I was thinking!!! Why didn't they bind it above or at least hold it with compression. I guess it was his time.....................
  20. I never shopped Radio Shack. I never understood why they didn't catch up with new technology and why was everything so overpriced?? It should have closed years ago. I've probably been to that Hiram store once and that was 10-15 years ago.
