The EPA are in the final stages of completing the study and should sign off shortly allowing the Airport project to move forward.     Yesterday I attended the BOC meeting...I attend them on a regular basis and can safely say this was one of the largest crowds I can remember...it was STANDING ROOM ONLY and most people stayed around until the open session for citizens to speak. Unfortunately at this time K.V.Scoggins was the first to speak and decided to use this meeting as an opportunity to AGAIN attack and criticize the County, the Commissioners, and David Austin.     The Commissioners are trying to do the business of running the county and at this point are more than likely tired of hearing the SAME OLE' CRAP from the speakers at EVERY meeting.     This morning at Hiram High the STOP ALL PROGRESS in PAULDING folks with VERNON COLLETT supporters had set up a TENT right at the awning for the gym VERY close to the door folks had to go in to VOTE. They had signs all the way down the roadway and were waving NO COMMERCIAL AIRPORT signs at EVERY CAR coming in. THIS is at best TACKY and VERY UNETHICAL...remember this candidate ran on TRANSPARENCY...I heard another couple also complaining about this and they said going in that they would NOT vote for him...I heard from someone later who said the campaign workers made them MOVE the tent back up

    It's people LIKE you that just keep making the argument for MOVING FORWARD with PROGRESS!!! You see I have NEVER wished ANYTHING like a plane crash on anyone much less wishing it on someones family and house. You should pack up your still and quietly sneak out of our county tonight. We are now a county of over 145,000 and the jobs, growth and tax base associated with the airport are positive items our county not only needs but MUST HAVE!!!

    Just left Hiram High and VOTED to keep moving Paulding FORWARD...VOTED for Herb Haynes as the only THINKING POST 3 Commissioner!!! The bought and paid for Vernon Collett supporters were out in force with signs and a tent that was WAY too close to the entrance to where you vote!!!! I have already called and complained about this to the county!!!     I was doing JUST what you say...leaving the door open to see who supported the Airport and continued Progress and growth in Paulding and who did the dance to get elected by "kissing the Anti-growth lawsuit groups butt"...Yes, the mailer clearly states it was PAID for and distributed by Protectpaulding.com BUT it also is 100% Vernon Collett and even if he DOESN'T support what it says the mailer IMPLIES he does and I DO NOT think this group would have done this on his behalf if they had not talked with him and had his approval to mail it.

    I just got a VERNON COLLETT mailer...I was up in the air until this arrived as to who to vote for BUT the mailer is PAID FOR by the ANTI PROGRESS FOLKS at Protectpaulding.com / STRIKE ONE AGAINST VERNON...then he states that he is ALSO against progress in Paulding and will work to STOP THE COMMERCIALIZATION of the Paulding County Airport / STRIKE TWO AGAINST VERNON...So I just spent the last 3 hours going DOOR TO DOOR in the neighborhood showing the mailer and making sure he wouldn't get any votes from around our area!!!     I say GOOD for the County on this...This Company MAY be the ONLY taxi in the County BUT the owners have a habit of NOT PAYING vendors or paying late and then trying to cut "deals" after they have used the vendors service. Paulding County deserves to be serviced by a REPUTABLE company and $100 IS NOT excessive for a business license. Compare this to what a cosmetologist pays for their license or ANY other independent business. FAIR IS FAIR!!!

    The McDonalds is owned by the same guy who owns several others including Hiram which he also remodeled...it was simply an update across the board. Paulding Plaza is DEAD as far as retail business...the Ingles is nice but only draws from a small area and the Captain D's uses HEAVY discounted coupons to bring in folks but they also see the writing on the wall. The manager told me a while back that they want to open another Paulding location closer to Hiram on 278...
