I case you didn't know....I am OPPOSED to the airport EXPANSION. to ANY PROGRESS IN PAULDING COUNTY! Coming soon our NEW FACEBOOK PAGE: KEEPING PAULDING at a CROSSROADS IN THE 70's!

"Drag it out into the light of day"...GREAT let them show who is ACTUALLY funding the lawsuit! and NOWHERE have I resorted to PERSONALLY calling anyone "names" as you put it! I do think it's extremely important for the ENTIRE county to be involved in this matter and it's a BIT arrogant for these 6 folks to issue a press release (posted on this site among others) stating they are filing this suit and causing the county to have to spend these dollars "ON BEHALF" of Paulding County residents. This implies they have the backing of the majority of the County instead of just the small group locat

I went back and read / re-read many of the post about this topic and the Airport topic. To me BOTH of these are related in that they deal with MOVING FORWARD as a county and not regressing backwards. Therefore I feel in light of many of the post which are directed negatively at anyone who remotely suggest that something new be considered I offer the Paulding "6" and anyone else who supports them a THEME SONG, feel free to share!

and HOW DID THEY GET "companies that employ more than 25 people"? By being PRO BUSINESS and supporting the business community withing the surrounding area, i.e. offering things such as the Douglasville Convention Center! Not sure what mentioning the mall has to do with what we are discussing but whatever, and I am not trying to compare Cobb, DeKalb or any other county to Paulding. I responded to the Post about the "Convention Center" that someone else started looking at it from a business standpoint and that's all. Paulding needs a facility that is a close drive to the businesses in the co

THANK YOU! This is EXACTLY what I am talking about and look at what the director says: "With the conference center averaging 30 to 40 events monthly" she has to work long days! I have been to 3 different wedding receptions at that facility (all three were PAULDING COUNTY residents) as well as two business meetings, I would LOVE to know how much business she gets from our county. Add to that the amount of North Paulding / Cedarcrest corridor folks who go to Cobb that would support a PAULDING facility and a centrally located PAULDING event center (there is that better than Convention center)

OK, Maybe it's my fault as I responded to the name of this POST which was "convention center". For the sake of this discussion let's call it a business resource center or whatever you like. I NEVER said we would be holding CONVENTIONS of 300+ folks BUT many many businesses in the county can and would use a facility where they could hold training seminars, meetings of many kinds that would have say 25 to plus or minus 100 at any given time. Again it could be used as a multi use facility for any number of events...Wedding receptions for one, (the one in Douglasville gets lots of this type use

Again the Marietta center IS NOT the type facility being discussed. NOBODY is talking about building a golf course, OR having the county build a hotel BUT whether or not you want to believe it there is a SERIOUS need in the PAULDING business market for a place where businesses can hold small to medium size meetings. A facility with modern business needs supported that is located in a CENTRAL location where folks can find it. I have NO IDEA who now owns the property across from the new hospital or even if it is available, it is in a great location for a business style facility. But if the i

I SAID on a smaller scale to start with and not saying it would be for OUTSIDE convention use...this would be a MUCH NEEDED facility to be used by PAULDING County residents and business owners, our schools, the new hospital, then if available dates are there SURE let outside folks use it. I'm not saying build on the scale Cobb did but a new modern convention STYLE facility to grow WITH Paulding. We will not ALWAYS be in this slump! Paulding County is going to grow, and move forward whether a few folks like it or not. When we moved here in the late 80's Paulding was at 27,700 population,

timestamp='1388682342' post='3871088'] Am I understanding correctly that the one in Marietta has not done well? If that is correct, then it would only make sense that one in Paulding would do worse. And the one in Marietta has a decent gold course attached. The one in Marietta is NOT the kind of facility I am talking about, you are correct about it not doing well, it has struggled to find an identity. I am talking about a true business oriented facility such as the Cobb Galleria conference center (of course on a smaller scale), one that offers both meeting rooms as well as actual con

While obviously ANY business venture is risky a center owned by the county that supports and promotes business growth for the county is nothing but a WIN / WIN!

I keep seeing in many of these post and the "press release" from the Delta groups attorneys that they are representing the interest of Paulding County residents. I am curious as to how attorneys from out of the county, a corporation like Delta Airlines, again from out of the county, and 6 residents of the county who seem to oppose ANYTHING related to change or progress, can say in good faith that they are representing the interest of over 145,000+ Paulding County residents and business owners. I would venture to say that a large number of residents of the county are either not getting in

In reading several of the post it seems to be several of the SAME folks who are against the Airport are also against Paulding having a conference center. What needs to be mentioned is that a multi-purpose conference center would be a HUGE asset to the county. It is a facility that has been needed now for YEARS! I saw someone mentioned it could be used for graduation's and that would get away from having to do them at each High Schools stadiums...it would be an indoor climate controlled facility. From a business standpoint the conference center would give a place where ANY type busines
