Tavis Smiley had a question for the NRA when on Fox's O'Reilly Show
NITR0 replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Once again, I have NEVER said that you should be disqualified from owning a firearm. Suggesting that you shouldn't own one for various reasons, is just that... a suggestion. If you are afraid, don't like them, can't handle one... I suggest you not have one. You will NEVER hear me say that someone SHOULD NOT own one, unless the conditions are not legally met... such as being a felon, etc. You will NEVER heard me say ANYTHING to strip a Constitutional right away from anyone, except where provided by the law of the Constitution itself. -

Here's the rest: Really? First off, I'm not in the gun industry. I am a firearms instructor. I teach regular old civilians gun safety and proper shooting techniques, as well as proper defense methods and counter acting criminal assaults. I, as a firearm instructor, have no ties to the gun industry, other than the certification for my instructor-ship. So, tell me how this law is making me money? The number of clients that I teach has not drastically increased since the law has gone in to effect. I don't get commissions from the NRA for teaching these classes/indi -

What a crock of sheeze! First, I'm not "packing." I am carrying a legally concealed firearm and it shows no such thing of an elevated level of fear. If it did, the proof would be that every time I faced confrontation, I would pull my firearm to defend myself. NOTHING is further from the truth and that applies to most every legally concealed citizen. Your first and foremost reaction in a confrontation of a life threatening circumstance is to get away from the situation. Once again, you're spouting bullcheeze of which you have no clue as to what you're talking about. You may se -
MYTH: Conservatives Are The Real American Patriots

Fixed a couple of things you got wrong. You want to know the truth, BOTH parties suck and are hurting this country. Democrats AND Republicans both want to dictate how THEY want the country to be run, rather than what the original intent of our forefathers wanted. The true definition of what our forefathers wanted is represented in the Libertarian party. Less government, more freedom and liberty, & personal responsibility. You do understand that God, the Bible, and the 10 commandments are not "Christian" don't you? Both God and the 10 commandments were LONG b -

Pubby, you are REALLY stretching here. Yes, it is my judgement, at the time, to decide if my life is in danger. The law is very clear about what constitutes fear of life. But to be considered "cop, judge, and executioner" is simply a ridiculous thought process. You, as a human being and part of the animal kingdom, by nature have the right to protect yourself and your life, when threatened. IN FACT, you are naturally programmed, just like every other animal on the planet, to do so. What tool I use to do so makes no difference. If I choose to use a jack hammer, a gun, or a roll of toile -

#1. Do you know what ignorant means? Obviously not. It means he's not educated on a subject. #2. I didn't call him stupid. I said he made a stupid moronic statement. Big difference. Try reading what I wrote instead of what you *think* I wrote. -

Another flat out stupid, moronic statement. Nothing about carrying a firearm gives anyone the power to be cop, judge, and jury. It empowers a person to protect themselves in a life threatening situation. Quit trying to put bullcheeze spins to suit your agenda. It doesn't work. I have never met a more ignorant person on the subject of firearms than you. I could even use the term stupid, because you simply refuse to see facts and choose to make up your own demented bullcheeze lies to fit your agenda. -

You are indeed one of the most ignorant people when it comes to knowing anything about firearms and conducting ones self when armed. That is one of the most stupid and idiotic statements I've ever heard. The LAST thing you do in a confrontation is tell the person you have a gun. #1. If you show it (brandish it), you're committing a crime. #2. If you tell them or show it to them, you have wasted your element of surprise. #3. Drawing it from the holster is the very last straw... only when you life is in imminent danger do you draw and use it. You have the most f'd up -
This used to be the case. When I was in high school, we had a vocational diploma path and we had a college path. We had wood shop and auto shop and a few other classes that would put you on the path to a vocational stamp on your diploma. If you were on the vocational path, you were allowed to leave school early to go work and get school credit for that work. If you were on a college degree path, you could leave early and go take college classes (only available to jr's and sr's.). You also had the opportunity to do both... be on the vocational and college paths.

Really? Check out this link

Yes, because they've never had the initiative or drive to put themselves in the situation where they can experience the same pleasure. They believe people are successful because of luck or you know somebody in high places, etc. Personal responsibility means nothing to them. You are not where you are in life because of choices you make... it's always someone elses fault.
-
No, that simply can't be! He's made something for himself and you and is able to retire and live life happy? You can't do that on blue collar wages... you MUST be living a lie! (at least according to LPPT)

I love the way that people like you can't understand that you don't have to be armed to be threatening someones life. I don't give a damn if you are armed or not. If you are sitting on top of me, have me pinned to the ground, beating on me, I WILL do anything and everything necessary to get you to stop, including using lethal force. Are you that damned stupid that you cannot see that being pinned to the ground and being beaten is not a life threatening instance? I'll tell you what, if it ever happens to you, you just stand there and let it happen... -

That's not relevant. That doesn't get Pubby's invalid point across. You see, when it's their point, illegal activities don't count. You have to go after the legal citizen's with bullcheeze and made up facts. -
Not, it's not your thread. You are the initiator of the topic. The thread is an electronic document that resides on a computer owned and managed by Pubby. It's his thread.

I don't know how you inject your thoughts on a computer screen, but I don't use my mouth. I use 10 fingers and a keyboard.
-
You made statements that weren't factual. That's not a disagreement with me.
-
Coming from an uneducated drunk. Thanks!

I don't watch Fox news or listen to shock jocks is my opinion? No, actually, that's a fact. Your analysis is also piss poor is a fact because your analysis said I watched both, of which I do neither. That makes that a fact. A mocking birds call is very distinctive and anyone who knows the call can easily make out that it's a mocking bird. That is a fact also. There are many varieties of mockingbirds and several different marking patterns between the varieties. Again, fact. You're wrong again. But thanks for playing... now move along please.
-
You haven't a clue. I don't watch Fox news and I don't listen to any shock jocks. So your analysis is as piss poor as your thought processes. Oh, and wrong again. A mocking bird gives itself away by it's call...
-
And where did I say that I watched Fox news or shock jocks? PLEASE point to me where I said anything of the sort. You must be one too. Because I have and do work for a living and I keep up with my government and what they do with the money they take from me. I'm sorry that you are not smart enough or informed enough to know or believe what happens with your own government and the people who are mooching off of it. You have proven in past discussions that you know NOTHING about our form of government or its history, nor the way it operates in modern times. You

LOL! You don't know any of those people because you are about aware of what goes on in the world as an a ostrich with its head in the sand. Oh so many times someone has made statements to things that have been in the news and your response is, "I don't think that's the case... I've never heard that," when it's been on the news for the last two weeks. You live in your own confined uninformed world. Sorry, no I don't hang around with people like that. People like that bring other people around them down. Idiot.

It's simple. Society, in general, has moved to entitlement. I'm not saying white collar job people don't work hard for their money, but more and more people want an "easy" job and don't want to actually "work" for their pay. They want to sit in an office and push a pencil. I chose a different thought process. Growing up, I learned every trade I could: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, automotive, etc... I have a 4yr degree in music and 2yr degree in computer science. I'm also a master ASE tech and a firearms instructor. I continue to learn trades because, especially in today's e
